I DO Makeovers

After doing a trial with Joni I knew her and her team would be perfect for my wedding day. On my wedding day she brought along another hairstylist and makeup artist. Her team did all 7 bridesmaids and two moms. The team followed a schedule she created so that everyone would be ready on time. I showed Joni pictures of wedding hairstyles that I liked and she went above and beyond. My hair looked better than I could have imagined. Kendra did my makeup and it looked perfect. Everyone looked so good and I was very pleased with her services!

I was very pleased with Joni’s services! Joni herself did my wedding hair and I couldn’t ask for anything more. She showed up on time and was very professional and kind. I purchased my own clip in extensions and Joni curled them individually and made my hair look full of body and perfect! Thank you Joni!

My whole wedding party got their hair and makeup done for my wedding a few weeks ago and I wanted to give myself sometime to think before I gave a negative review, but even after sometime to sleep on it I still must say I was disappointed with the services.
Joni herself seems like an actually decent make-​up artist, but she has contracted out services to other girls in order to grow her business so it is not likely that you will get her doing your hair and make-​up.
My major complaints were that the make-​up artist did not listen to what I wanted I said fresh glowing and natural and no smokey eye. I think she only knows how to do one look because all my bridesmaids looked the same… and so what did I get heavy, unnatural and smokey eye which I was told would ‘look good in the pictures’ well it doesn’t help looking good in the pictures if you feel so unlike yourself that you’re uncomfortable your whole wedding. (This was during the trial) When it came to the big day I asked her to do my make-​up lighter and I just don’t think she knew how to do it… so what did I get no eyeshadow, no mascara, no eyeliner. I finally managed to get her to do well with the eyeshadow because I gave her my palette to work with and she kept promising to go back and do mascara and eyeliner because has ‘her own special order that she does it in’. Anywaz we both ended up forgetting so I had no eyeliner or mascara which didn’t end up being too bad because I ended up crying so at least it didn’t run down my face. Most of my bridesmaids ended up wiping off the make-​up and doing it themselves. She had no idea about what lip color would look good on people and ended up choosing the weird colors to put on them.
Furthermore, the worst thing was the make-​up artist had no hygienic control measures she didn’t clean the brushes between clients, all her make up looked dirty AND I saw her drop her entire case on the floor by accident and she said ‘oh no not again’ and then stuffed all the make up and brushes back inside without sanitizing anything. Yuck!
The hair dressers asked for pictures to follow but the hairdos ended up being way off base. They put so many bobby pins in most girls got headaches and had to pull them out half way through the reception.
They were at our house from 10am — 4:30pm and I felt like we wasted our time and money. To make it worst she insisted on a 20% cash tip which is a lot when you’re already paying 1000 dollars for services. Also, she promised each girl get a lipgloss and never did. Oh well. You win some you lose some. I will say they are nice people.
I wouldn’t recommend this service unless you like big pageantry looks and if that is the case this might company might work well for you.

I called Joni a bit down to the wire for my wedding. She was able to find a match for me with one of her makeup artists and we hit it off from our first meeting. My girl was Michelle, and she is insane at her abiities. She saw my pictures, listened to what I wanted, and magically turned me into a bombshell at both my trial and at my wedding. She used airbrush makeup and also covered up a back tattoo so that it didn’t take away from my dress. She graciously worked on my mother and my best friend and had us all feeling so pretty. I will say that the makeup did not budge at all and was on for 12 hours. I may have had to blot my nose once and I am an oily shiny girl. I’m hooked, I want her to be my everyday make up artist, but sadly I am not rich and will have to reserve her for fancy occassions.
Joni was willing to work with me and my ever expanding package all the way up to the wedding day. We added on some lashes for Mom and there was no problem with anything. I am so happy I found these ladies.
I’m not sure why the first gal on here is so upset with the way she was treated, Joni told me the same things on the phone because everything is priced out by procedure. As a business owner myself, this is pretty normal and logical, and not at all an insult to anyone. Maybe she is just a sensitive Sally. Anywho, Joni gave me more than I got from a different makeup artist in LA for my friend’s wedding last year. The total cost for me (the bride) and two others was under what I paid for to have hair and makeup done up here. Truly a deal, I am still in shock and am going to say raise your rates! Michelle’s abilities are worth twice what I paid, and I would pay twice as much for her!

Big fan of among and her crew! Laura was amazing on hair and the makeup team was spot on. My hair was done for my wedding exactly how I wanted it to be. The team was in and out on time and really made sure everyone was happy.
The only slight point was the requirement for payment to be done in full 2 weeks before. As a bride, it is a lot to come up with payment 2 weeks before a big wedding for all bridesmaids and others getting makeup done but besides that the experience was so nice. Not having to be at a random salon and to have everything done in our bridal suite at the venue was wonderful. Highly recommended!

I look forward to getting my hair done at I Do Makeovers. Joni Keller is a fabulous stylist. I give her permission to cut and color however she wants and am always super pleased. I brought my son to get his hair cut by Joni once… it has ruined him. He will not let anyone but Joni touch his hair now.

I had contacted Joni about pricing packages for my wedding. I said nothing to her about my budget and this is the e-​mail I received, basically claiming I cannot afford her.

I prefer talking about it on the phone since you live out of the area. I can quote you prices but it won’t be customized to your needs and I guarantee you can find someone less expensive. It depends on what matters to you for this type of service and we may not be in your budget. Thank you and I’ll call in a bit.»
I was insulted, who sends an e-​mail like that? I have received many e-​mails from other hairstylists including their pricing (of all ranges) and also saying they have a passion for what they do and are willing to customize any package and work with any budget. I would much rather work with someone who’s not all about the money, someone willing to help and who loves what they do.
