Little Monkeys Hourly & Drop In Day Care

I have been using Little Monkeys Daycare for about six months now, and everything has been as expected. My 4 year old son loves to go to «school» there. He likes the lunch and snacks that he receives.
Every day he comes home with a couple art projects that incorporates the learning of letter and shapes he has done for the day. He has learned the days of the week and also knows all of the colors.
I do business all over Southern California, and at times I will run late to pick up my son, (10−15min) Monique has always been very fair with me on going over the set hours of operation; I am very aware of this because Monique was very clear about how the after hours works, and it if expensive as are all other daycare locations.
I would be happy to recomend to Little Monkeys to anyone that was interested, as I have.

As a first time customer for Little Monkeys hourly day care I was expecting my first experience to be a pleasant one at the very least an informative one as my sister had recommended this day care (I use the term loosely). I received neither, I was quoted an hourly rate for a certain hourly block. When I advised Monique that I would need care for my child after her hourly block she consented that it would not be a problem as she offers an” after hours day care” but would need to charge a late fee for picking up my daughter after day closing hours. I’m not sure how that somehow got warped into a miscommunication from going to a flat hourly rate (as it says in the business name itself) into a minute fee rate. As a result I was expecting $ 60.00 instead I was charged $ 190 for one day child care. So my total for my sister’s children (2) plus mine was $ 570. At no point did Monique explain to me that there would be a rate change not a late fee as she explained so unless the late fee $ 130 per child I’m not sure how this goes along with any of the pricing she provided. Her justification to her misrepresentation was that was a misunderstanding (which she had no problem admitting). I would think as a customer she would want to keep me inform with the price change. At the very least because there was this mistake I was expecting to split the difference or charge me a late fee as she had previously communicated to me. She was adamant that while this was a mistake the only thing she could offer was a $ 50 discount. And as if this wasn’t a terribly awkward situation enough the husband decided to approach us advising that there was a rate change because this was part of their «family time» I then advised while I understood his point his wife was the one that had offered her «after hours services» had this been an issue this should had been communicated to me in the very beginning. To make matters worse I was expecting to get a receipt which I didn’t receive. Another issue I have with this establishment is that they are not doing what they say on their website, it says «11:30 — Lunch, 12:30 — Nap or Rest Time, 2:00 — outdoor Play — Gross Motor Development 3:00 — Afternoon Snack, 4:00 –Story Time/​Music/​Homework Help, 6:00p — Day Closes» my daughter told me «she was a very nice lady and feed us». Now this doesn’t sit well with me because my daughter was in this woman’s daycare and she didn’t even know her name that itself should speak to her interaction skills with children. Based on this experience I definitely will not be going back to this business and will be reporting her due to her misrepresentation. Parents be aware as this seems like a very common practice for her.
