Preferred Appliance Parts

If I could give a ½ star I would. Husband and wife are rude people that do not know customer service. I have bought parts from them from time to time all with a poor experience but not knowing where else to go. The last straw for me was after buying the wrong $ 52 part. They would not accept return even though receipt showed a restocking fee for returns. The owner (heavy smoker) pointed out another place on the receipt that stated «no returns». He had it covered either way. I said this made it hard for me to want to continue using his business and he said «I don’t care if you continue to buy from me or not.» Never will I use them again. I will drive across town next time.

I really can’t say if this store is good or not. Every time I go there within their posted hours, there’s a sign on the door saying they are closed. Making it hard to fix my stove!

Called in 15 minutes before store closed and was put on hold. No problem I thought, perhaps someone was in the store being helped. Well, the dude never came back to answer my question. I will never consider purchasing anything from this store again.

As someone else said «Worst Customer Service Ever»! I have tried to utilize this business twice now with no positive results. The first time I was trying to locate a dishwasher latch, I found the one online that matched the one I needed and called them to see if they had it. Not only did the lady seemed annoyed by my call she told me that she didn’t stock the part and even though I had the Mfg, Model# and part # she wouldn’t be responsible for the part if it was wrong. So much for the professionals providing assistance. I ordered the part myself (worked fine).
Today I actually went IN to the store. As has also been mentioned, the place reeks of smoke. I stand at the counter (even though they both saw me from the back when I walked in) and waited for her to come around. Again, she seemed annoyed. I know I interrupted her smoke break plans since she had two in her hand with the lighter ready to go. I explained that I needed replacement knobs for my cook top and handed her the knob. She asked if I had a model number? I admitted I didn’t but thought the knob would be enough. She then looked at me and said «well is it from a washer, a range or what?» I thought I had explained it was a cook top and reiterated it. «Well we only carry a few knobs in the back» and a blank stare. Gee, if there are only a few maybe it would have been real easy to look at them? That’s just me I guess.
I said thank you and left with my knob. I looked on the back of my knob, found a number on it and turned to good old Google. Guess what!!! It popped right up! Took me all of about 15 seconds.
Thanks again, the only thing preferential about your store is that you seem to prefer to not have my business.

We shop this store for all of our appliance repair parts first. If you have appliances that are a few years (or more) old, and the models are discontinued — you can usually find what you need here, in stock. We have had 100% accurate advice and help with parts, and how-​to/​do-​it-​yourself repairs… from washer and dryer parts, to most recently our G.E. gas range. We were given the store’s price… then shopped online, and found the part was $ 15 and $ 20 dollars more ELSEWHERE. The owner definitely does not have a «flowery, bubbly» personality: who cares?! He knows his stuff, and has parts at decent prices. Some of these reviewers need to get over themselves… just sayin’.

I thought this was a great place until the owner wanted to fight with me over a wrong part he sold to me. All I wanted was the right part and instead of working with me to give me the right part he wanted to get into an argument with me. They was the worst customer service that I have encountered. He even got mad because I asked questions not knowing I know about AC’s. They need a lesson on dealing with customers that do know something about the equipment they work on. I wish I could give them 0 stars.

I enjoy this store so very much. Not only do they have informative opinions on current appliances, but they always take the time to go over the parts that I need for my current appliance issues. They even gave me a referral for an air conditioner repair guy that was less expensive and more thorough than those larger air conditioning companies advertising locally.
This most recent visit, I brought in pictures of my serial and model numbers of my dishwasher as well as pictures of the parts I needed replaced. We were able to match all the parts I needed and I was very satisfied with the customer service.
I am not sure why the negative reviews are here. My customer service was excellent.

The reviews are true — had my part, but not friendly at all. Smelled of smoke and the owner was shopping for sports memorabilia on his desktop and did not stop to help. Im not sure if the read the reviews — they should have some concerns. Be happy with a smile and focus on the customer. Or just be crabby and get by in life.

I was hesitant to go here after seeing the negative reviews, but it was on my way to the mall, so I stopped. Don’t waste your time. I think the only people buying stuff here are contractors/​/​handymen that are passing the exorbitant costs on to u. The store smells of cigarette smoke as soon as u walk in the door. The employee (maybe owner) seemed bothered that I was in there without my tool belt on. I inquired about a part for my refrigerator and he was totally rude. Obviously I don’t know a lot about fixing refrigerators, but it took me all of about 5 seconds on amazon to find was I was looking for. Don’t waste your time at this place.

Called them to ask about a repair part for my refrigerator. After three tries they finally answered the phone. The lady sounded like I was bothering her when I spoke to her…
Later I physically went there, and when I walked in the place absolutely reeked of noxious cigar fumes. They told me the only way they’d sell me the part I was looking for was to charge me approximately 50% over the wholesale price.
The place is run by an old guy and his old wife, they are as grumpy as they are old, and they really don’t seem too interested in helping walk-​in customers.
Next time one of my appliances breaks snd I’m trying to fix it myself I will look elsewhere.

Customer service is not a priority — agree with the other reviews. Felt like the worker was a bit annoyed that I was even there in the first place. The place smelled like an ashtray too. But, at the end of the day, they had the part I was looking for. Felt like the prices were a bit high, but our AC was out in the middle of summer and we needed the part ASAP. My advice — call ahead and make sure they have what you are looking for first to spend as little time as possible there. I am giving three stars because they do sell the harder to find parts which the big retailers do not carry.

I called this place and ordered parts and then came to write a review, so I’m surprised to see so many bad ones. The gentleman I spoke with was a little gruff when he first answered the phone, but after the conversation got started, he was helpful and polite. He even pointed me in a direction other than ordering a part from him to fix my problem. I don’t think customer service gets any better than that — the willingness to forgo a sale in order to give a customer a better alternative.

Reviews before me were pretty bleak so I was a little hesitant to go but I had the part number ready and the gal at the front (owners wife?) had it in stock and was fairly pleasant. I think as long as you have done some homework (research the part number online, picture of the part, etc.) you should have a decent buying experience. If you are planning on trying to trouble shoot your problem at their counter, honestly it’s not their job to figure your problem out. They are not a handy man service. Also, don’t ever try and describe the part over the phone, that never works. All in all, not a bad experience.

Worst customer service! Will not come back. Owner and his wife are chain smokers and the whole place stinks. They just don’t care about customers!

This was a terrible experience with a terrible owner who has no concept of what customer service should be. I bought a part from Chuck after showing him a picture of the part on my AC. It turned out to be the wrong part. I did not tamper with the part, simply brought it back to see if I could return it and Chuck grumbles to himself and tells me in the most condescending tone I have ever heard that the reciept and the sign at the shop clearly state that electrical parts cannot be returned. I try to tell him the part was brand new and that he could inspect the box but he chose to tell me that the sign wasnt written in Chinese. This old bigot needs to go the way of Donald Sterling. Retire and go be a grumpy old man on your own because your business skills suck and I have yet to read a single post that says otherwise. I will never shop there again and may stand outside the doors and warn other potential victims of what they are getting themselves into with Chuck!

Just got off the phone with this business. I called to check on the pricing and stock status of a drain pump for my washer. The part was $ 20 more than most online sources, so I politely asked if there was any chance of a lower price. She told me to order online and then hung up on me. How do these mom and pop shops think they can compete with online commerce if there is no customer service? I would have paid more to support my local business, but certainly not after such a rude encounter.

The worts customer severs I have ever had they did not care about what I need only money, and they also hung up on me. Did not get any help from them. I even talked to the owner and he was very short with me and did not help me.

Enjoyed working with the owner. He was very helpful in knowing over the phone the part that needed to be fixed. I might have been able to buy the part for a few bucks cheaper online or elsewhere, but ultimately was glad to support the store considering that they were so helpful.
Highly recommend if you need a part, or have an appliance that needs repair don’t waste your time just give them a call first.
