Schilber’s Jewelry Castle

My mother-I’m-law suggested this place for having my rings cleaned and inspected and to look for a new piece, as it is their family jeweler. They inspected and cleaned my rings in an open room so that I could see what they were doing the whole time. They are extremely honest, knowledgable, and friendly. Their customer service is amazing and they always have fair, honest prices. They are family owned/​run and support local non-​profits by donating items.

A friend of mine suggested I go to the «Castle» to have my battery replaced in my Cartier watch. I usually go to a Cartier boutique for that, but I thought I would go with her suggestion. Jim did an excellent job and even cleaned my watch, too! If you have watch (es) that need to be serviced, Jim is your go to guy! He has ~35 yrs. experience & training in everything watches! I highly recommend him! He’s very nice, too! Over all, this was a delightful experience for me & I will definitely be back! The folks there are very friendly, very welcoming!

My fiancé and I had been to every jewelry store in the mall at least 4 times and felt very pressured to buy a ring on the spot. It was such a breath of fresh air when we went to Schilber’s seeing that there was a greater selection and better treatment. Henry began by asking my fiancé about his style and profession and then selected rings for him to try on. He was spot on with what we were looking and we felt that he genuinely cared about us finding what we wanted. The best part was that he let us leave without feeling pressured to come back, yet we wanted to come back because it was such a pleasant experience and we loved the jewelry. Very high quality!

I went to this business looking to have a bezel switched on a watch that was broken. The head watch guy Jim was super friendly and knowledgeable and instead switched the movements from one watch to the other, and for super cheap as well. I will frequent this place for all my jewelry and watch needs from now on even though the inside of the building is very uncomfortable, they now have a customer for life

I needed to get the battery changed on my Garmin Forerunner 405 GPS runners watch. Another runner friend who had previously had her battery for the same watch changed here recommended it to me. Mind you, to change the battery in watch involves soldering wires too. The watch guy was friendly and did a great job. Only 20 bucks (I already had bought the new battery on Amazon).

Good local business that is trusting and tries to earn your business. Nice facility with a convient location, at least for me. I just pick up a rolex at a fantastic discount. about 20% to be exact! Try to do that anywhere else and you will be turned away. I feel that their pricing is good compared to its local competition. But make no mistake, Schilber’s Castle sells higher end items. So if your looking for a discount price on high end items give them a try. But dont expect crazy, unreasonable prices on low quality items. That’s what Sears or JC Penny’s good for.

I came here to have a diamond ring sized down and to purchase another jewelry item.
A few days later I noticed one of the channel set stones was loose. I returned to have it tightened. Several days later I noticed that once again the stone was loose. When a ring is sized that contains any kind of stones the jewelers job is to check for loose stones as the process causes the channels to open up. This is a no-​duh process for jewelers. Clearly they’re jewelry repair employee doesn’t have this basic experience.
I had just spent over $ 80 for this and had to spend more $ at another jeweler to have it repaired.
Cancelled the jewelry purchase as well.

I found Schilber’s when they were located on Ynez, while looking for a jeweler that was authorized to work on my watch. After 20 years of daily wearing, it was in need of an overhaul and new parts. They completely reworked it for me, ordering the necessary parts directly from Rolex, and had it back to me looking like new.
My wife has shopped for rings here, and they have an incredible selection. Everything here is top-​notch, which brings up the only down side – it’s expensive. If you by something here, the quality is there, but you’ll end up paying for it.
I will say that repairs on watches and jewelry are very reasonable. I recently took in a watch that needed links added to fit over a new wetsuit, and the watchmaker dug up the necessary parts, chargin me only for the pins. Labor was free.
If you’re looking for first rate jewelry, maybe for a special occasion, it’s certainly worth a stop.
