Western Dental

My son went to western dental for 4 years for orthodontic care and it started out good because we had a great orthodontist, but after one year of treatment. He left and then an older orthodontist came on board and our experience went down hill from there. His braces came off and his teeth were crooked and they left cement on his teeth. I complained that his teeth looked horrible and I was disappointed with the outcome and they said that the retainer would fix the remainder of the teeth.
2 year’s later, we went for a follow up and they said that I would need to put him in braces again. Mind yiu, this is our 4^th child in braces so we are not newbies to the orthodontic experience.
We went to Western dental knowing that our original orthodontist was a USB GRADUATE, and on the ball.
I’m taking this to the Better Business Bureau for poor customer service and malpractice.
Don’t go to this clinical practice, the worst.

Do not go to Western Dental! They will rip you off if you’re not careful! My poor mom went in for a toothache and came out with thousands of dollars worth of work needed. They asked her to sign a contract while she was still in pain and that she did not fully understand. They did not explain the work nor give her options. Now she’s stuck with a huge bill! If you go here be very cautious as they will try to sell you work you might not even need and that’s conveniently (for them) not covered by insurance. I recommend you go elsewhere instead, somewhere where they actually care about patients.

I’m SHOCKED!
I just hung up with Western Dental Corp Office, with what was just ANOTHER insulting conversation with someone so rude I thought they were pranking me.
Like I always tell the Corp Business/​Financial office, I am so glad our local office is 180 degrees different than WD corp!!! So, I came here to give props for 6 years of dental and orthodontic success to the Murrieta WD office. I don’t know how this crew puts up with the way their own corp office sets them up to fail. They over-​book them, and then leave the staff to smile in the trenches, having to explain policies they aren’t even responsible for.
Anyway, with 5 family members, only 1 cavity ever found in x-​ray, 4 mouths of braces, and an oral-​surgery, we have found this WD office to be consistently efficient. I am wondering if some of these reviews are for a different office? I am very confused. We are here at least once per month and I don’t ever remember a dirty office.
I am not suggesting coming here or not coming here. I am just sharing our experience.
I hope WD can improve the areas people are complaining about.

Sorry about that I’m still new to Unilocal I thought I was writing a review not a tip. But again I strongly agree that this place is the worst place ever had a 10 o’clock appointment at 12 o’clock was still sitting there 7 people back there looking at their phones and everything else people walked in after us and went back there screw this place never again go back just told him you know what give me my paperwork ill shred all my stuff myself fitting that’s it I’ll find another dentist

If I could give this place a big fat ZERO I would. Talk about such a bad experience. No regard to someones time. I took my daughter there and it took 2 hours and all she got was her xray. I just couldn’t wait any longer. When we asked how much longer the front desk girls just giggled and said not much longer. Then the manager blames it on their corporate office saying they are not the only ones making the appointments. All she cared about was sucking on her cup of Starbucks. Never again will I go back. Not kid friendly what so ever. My kid left pretty stressed out because they just had her sitting in the back by herself until I just walked back there to be with her. I would be afraid for those dentist to work on me or my family under all that stress. Don’t go! Hope this helps someone else because it was not a good experience for me.

I had to get braces here and cleaning done. So for the braces, the staff is nice and I generally have complaints for that office. Prices were not terrible, but of course braces will always be expensive.
For the rest, I HATE THE WAITING TIME. ESPECIALLY ON THE FIRST DAY. I understand that they have to put your papers into their system (western dental is pretty much like a company… not exact) and I ended up having to 1.5+hrs to get in! after that, maybe another 2 hours were spent inside I spent my entire day there and it was so dragging. Other than that, a lot of times the front desk people tell me that they are behind schedule by 30 min, What a disaster.
As for the dental office, I am not hugest fan. When I had my braces on, I had to get x-​rays. I told the assistant that I had braces, and she even looked at them! What happened? Well I didn’t know better, neither did this experienced lady. She took an x-​ray with my wires still in place. I had to wait another 1 hour for the dentist to come to my chair, look inside my mouth, tell me I need a filling because of a cavity (that was so tiny, the other dentist over there told me it’s no big deal), told me I don’t take care of my teeth well (excuse me!?), and delivered the news that I couldn’t get any further cleaning done until my wires were off. I know you may think that, «why didn’t you get your wires off right after she told you?». Well, the receptionist apparently scheduled me to have my cleaning done on the day when the orthodontist office was closed. We CLEARLY told them that I had braces!!! Yep, so I spent another whole day over there at this efficient place.
For the record, each time you come in for cleaning, you’re required to take an x-​ray. They don’t give you the choice of not taking one.

This is not the first time they make us wait for so long. I heating the service that they have here They take for ever to do a cleaning employees and dentist just walking around and make people waiting for so long it took 3 ½ hrs just for my kids cleaning…

I wish I could give zero stars. Waited 3.5 hours in their filthy waiting room only to walk out without being seen. They called me the day before and moved my appt up because they dentist had to leave early. Well I was there right on time and never saw him. They push the orthodontic side on you first and I only agreed because I know my son needs braces soon, but having to wait for that appt first before going to the general dentistry side is just too much. Clean your floors, get new chairs and don’t schedule 800 people a day. Never going back.

Had to wait 1.5 housr to even get called back, then another half hour to finally get to the doctors seat. I left before the doctor came because a dentist appointment should NOT take 2 hours AFTER my appointment time.

I would give no stars if I could, and if I could go negative, I would do that too. I am soooo tired of this place! I don’t even know where to begin writing this review because our experiences have been nothing short of horrendous. Each time I walk out, with my children in tow frustrated and quite literally pissed off. Get your stuff together WD! Your staff are rude and not helpful, your doctors have no clue what they are talking about, and your building is filthy. I have been trying for 6 months to have my kids teeth cleaned… YES CLEANED THAT’S IT! But each time, it’s something new as to why they CAN’T have them cleaned… Today, we got there at 7:55am for an 8am appointment. We walk in and the office mgr walks up and says, «Sorry we’re closed until 9am.» I told her my kids had appointments at 8am. She proceeds to tell me that they called me yesterday and were rescheduling all of the appointments for today. #1– I NEVER received a call (I have ONE phone number-​my cell) #2 When I called (because I had some choice words and walked out before finding out what time they «rescheduled» us for) they told me that we were still scheduled for 8am… so what your telling me is I showed up there ON TIME for my appointment, they were closed and AGAIN screwed up and NEVER rescheduled us? This is not the first time this has happened, just the most recent. DO NOT GO HERE! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STAY FAR, FAR, AWAY!

You guys are the worlds worst. Perscribing no medication after a root canal? Lagging weeks on sending in emergency referrals to my insurance? Blantatly watching me crying in pain and offering ibuprofen? You guys are obviously one of the worst rated places I’ve ever seen for a reason. I would rather take vice grips and rip my own teeth out rather than ever come back here. Close down and make the world a better place. You guys will get what’s coming to you soon just wait, your going to have lawsuit on your hands.

I have given this place three stars due to the fact that they have changed dentists and the new lady in charge is efficient and timely as possible. I had went here before and was extremely disappointed and it was a complete waste of my time. I had an appointment and didn’t even get any work done. At that time it was a male dentist working there. I wouldn’t even have gone back if it wasn’t for my sister telling me they had a new dentist. The female dentist there tries to accommodate your needs as much as she possibly can and as long as she is still there I will continue to go. Love the change.

A Thousand negative stars for the female dentist here. She has NO CLUE what she’s talking about. Told us my daughter has very large cavities and a possible root canal in her FRONT TOOTH! She refused to do the fillings in white because she claimed it would not hold up. So after a second opinion with an experienced and highly regarded dentist, it turns out my daughter only has 4 cavities! Small ones, they CAN be done in white and there is certainly no need for a root canal and crown on her FRONT TOOTH! I almost let Western dental RUIN my child’s mouth and fill every tooth with silver unnecessarily! I’d like to go ruin HER child and see how mad she gets. GO BACK TO SCHOOL, WOMAN! HOW CAN YOU EVEN CALL YOURSELF A DR. This office is full of idiots and liars. I will never set foot in Western Dental again!

The staff is super nice however, they are in desperate need to clean the floors and walls in the back were they do the procedures.

My first appointment with my daughter was for a cleaning and ortho consult — we were there 5 HOURS! I have bought cars quicker than this! This establishment provides poor customer service on the general side. The staff is not friendly or helpful. Twice appointments have been cancelled, with no apology, after we were already there because they did not verify my insurance information. However, the staff on the ortho side (standing 2 feet away) said their system pulls and verifies the information in advance and they kept my appointment with no hassle. The ortho staff even made a comment that they didn’t understand why the general side ran the way they did. Ortho people are very friendly and customer service focused.
If I had new insurance with any other doctor I see they would take my new insurance card, I would see the doctor and they would verify later. If the service is not covered they bill you. Why couldn’t this be done for me? I was only trying to get a cleaning for my duaghter yet they turned us away twice. It was not like we were asking for the expense of a root canal or something major to be floated. All insurance covers a cleaning. The staff on the general side was rude and not empowered enough or didn’t care enough to make a decision that would do right by the customer. I even called corporate asking if an excpetion could be made since we were already there and had been cancelled on before — corporate did not apologize either and would do nothing to assist me.
I had never heard of Western Dental before but now that I am sharing my experience with others in my community I am hearing a consensus that this type of poor cutomer service is typical.

Polite staff at front desk, however I was not satisfied with the level of care by the dentist.

I would give them a zero if I could. The dental assistant were nice but I came in and told them that my crown was hurting and you could even see it. It had formed a ball on my left cheek so they said that they could not see me today and I was like really you did my root canal in December 2011 and you cant even see it. I was in so much pain I could not even eat that’s how bad it was infected. They told me to come tomorrow I was hell no so I had to go to another dentist that looked at my tooth and said it was really infected and he could not take it out until the inflammation goes down so he gave me antibiotics for the pain.
He only charged me $ 20 whereas this western dental wanted $ 104 just for the check up to tell me the same thing honestly save your money that’s all they care about not about how much pain your in.

Western dental is the worst dental agency have ever experienced in my 60 years of life… They do terrible work. t I don’t even think that they are really qualified.

WORST DENTAL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! I waited 45 minutes just to get my appointment started, then spend over 2 and a half hours there for a simple cleaning, xrays and exam. I wasted my entire afternoon there which no one apologized for or explained why everything was taking so long. Also I was shuffled around to 3 different «rooms» which weren’t rooms at all just different dental chairs with no privacy.
Lastly, I was told I had 9 cavities and needed $ 750 worth of fillings when 6 months ago at my last visit at another dentist I had no cavities. Hmmmmm, really? $ 750 worth of fillings? I dont think so. I have paid less for general anesthesia for a tooth extraction. If you like wasting your time and being overcharged this is the place for you. Otherwise, find another dentist. I certainly will.

This was first and LAST time visiting Western Dental. I will NEVER go back again nor will I recommend anyone else to come here. First of all when I walked in no one acknowledge me I stood at the reception desk for about 2 minutes before someone said anything. My appointment for the orthodontist was at 10:15am and I did not get called back until 11:10am and I was 5 minutes early to my appointment time AND I already had my paperwork filled out ahead of time to avoid the wait but that was completely pointless. And then on top of that I had an appointment for a regular exam at 11:15am. When I finally got called back I had to wait an additional 15 – 20 minutes for the orthodontist to see me. He was really nice so I have nothing negative to say about him.
The next issue I had was when it was time for me to get x-​rays. The tech was new and didn’t really know how to use the machine so she had to retake certain areas of my teeth over and over again which made me even more irritated but in my opinion it is not her fault because someone with more experience should have been there with her, it was her first day doing x-​rays for crying out loud!
After that I went to get an exam and waited yet again another 15 – 20 minutes for the dentist to come over, then I had to get fillings, the guy who did it was really nice BUT I asked him if he it will use the silver or clear fillings and he said silver, I don’t know what he put in my teeth but it damn sure is not silver it is a rough grey colored substance that is very uncomfortable and to put the icing on the cake all of the tech who clean your teeth went to lunch before my feelings were done so I had to wait ANOTHER hour in a half. So in total i spent 6 hours in a dentist office! –_​_​–
This was by far THE WORST dental experience I’ve ever had. I was hoping for a pleasant visit so I could go to a dental office closer to home but I defiantly learned my lesson. For now on I will stick to my old dental office that’s all the way in the LA area but I don’t care because at least I know I will have outstanding service unlike here.

They really deserve NO stars. In fact they deserve negative 5 stars… if that’s possible…
For starters I’ve only been to this Western Dental, no other locations. However, I think they are ALL the same.
Where do I even begin? We found an insurance that was really affordable and would cover mostly every job we got done, and it was only through Western Dental. The first 2 years that I went I got about 12 fillings and 2 root canals. I felt horrible, I would brush twice a day and did not understand why I was still getting soo many cavities, I’ve NEVER in my entire life had any pain on any tooth. No tooth has ever been bugging me. After I got my 2 root canals done I went back for a checkup and they told me that they needed to send me to a specialist for one of them because it looked like it was getting infected, they told me that the specialist would call, they never called. 2 years went by and they kept saying the same thing «You need to have that checked out by a specialist, I’ll put in the referral and they will call you.» and in those 2 years I never received a call.
I started noticing something… every time I would go in for a checkup and not brush my teeth prior (because my appointments were in the middle of the day and I had no access to a tooth brush) they would say I had cavities. But when I would have appointments on Saturday mornings and I would brush my teeth and floss… I HAD NO CAVITIES. Is their technology even good? NOT TO MENTION that this recent time I went their technology in the X-​ray room had an expired license for 2 years…
This last time I went they told me that the OTHER root canal they did 2 years prior was done wrong and that they would need to redo it or completely remove my tooth. Oh, and I would have to pay for the damage that THEY did to me… about $ 400.
That is just my story, to summarize my brothers experience with them… well lets just say he went in for a filling, and now he needs a root canal from that tooth because the doctor HIT THE NERVE OF THE TOOTH! Their own dentist damaged my brothers perfectly good tooth. Now my brother has to pay for their mess ups?
I REALLY do believe that they mess up your teeth purposefully, just so you go back and get more work done. This review is only about their actually work. Don’t even get me started on their services with the front desk ladies and how horrible they are when it comes to appointments.
