Our technicians are very experienced. We take training very seriously, and most of our waxers have been with us for several years and performed thousands of waxes with Aloha. That means a confident, safe, and comfortable experience for you.

Our Lasers are new, top-​of-​the-​line models that give great results and are safe for every color skin type. Each treatment is customized in collaboration with our on-​site physician for your safety and maximum results. Most laser treatments only take about 10 – 15 minutes.

Feeling comfortable so important with such an intimate service, and Aloha is committed to great training and experience so you can feel right at home.

History

Established in 2009.

Aloha Waxing founder Lisa Barounis has been working in spas and salons since the age of 19, and has done thousands of waxes in Hawaii, Phoenix, and Chicago. She specializes in fast Brazilian waxing and has passed the technique to her well-​trained staff.

«It has always been my goal for my salon to have the feel of a spa, a relaxing space, especially when a lot of us are nervous about our Brazilian waxing!»

From its beginnings in a 100sq foot space in downtown Naperville, Aloha Waxing and Laser has grown to a storefront salon with state-​of-​the-​art laser technology and experienced estheticians performing thousands of Brazilian waxes every year.

With a team of qualified waxers, she now focuses on laser hair removal to expand the services of the salon. «I love how much the laser helps our clients, especially women with unwanted facial hair and women in transition. They feel more confident and beautiful, and that means so much to me.»

I’ve gotten waxes for years and have been to many places but none compare to the professional, kind, clean, and organized environment as Aloha Waxing and Laser! As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome :)
Miranda gave me a lip and brow wax — she was not only professional but kind and pleasurable to talk to throughout the experience. She kept her room very well organized and clean (which is very important when you’re getting hair removal) and she was also very knowledgeable about waxing and the laser treatments that they do (I inquired about laser and she definitely sold me on the idea… come fall I will definitely go back for laser treatments). When I left both Miranda and the receptionist (I forgot her name, though she was very nice) thanked me for coming in and encouraged me to come back which I definitely will.
If you’re looking for a great wax experience definitely go to Aloha!

I have had Brazilians done elsewhere, but now that I’ve seen Mena I wouldn’t go to anyone but her. At my first appointment, she immediately made me feel very at ease and comfortable, which is not easy to do when you have to take your pants off moments after meeting someone. She’s very talkative, which I like because this way I’m not fully aware of the process. She is really quick but also very meticulous; she’s waxed me several times now and it always looks perfect. You can tell she really takes pride in her work and wants you to be satisfied with your results. I used to seriously dread getting this done but Mena makes it bearable!
Aside from that, the store itself is very clean and tidy with a friendly atmosphere. The receptionists are always warm and inviting. They have refreshments in the waiting room, though I’ve never had to wait more than a couple of minutes to be taken back. Extremely satisfied with Aloha overall! Go book your appointment with Mena :)

Just had my first appointment at Aloha Wax… WOW! Liz the receptionist is very friendly& professional. Bright clean space with a cute Hawaiian theme. Maggie was right on time& greeted me with a smile. By far one of the best Brazillian waxes I’ve ever had! She’s lightning fast, asks if the temperature of the wax is comfortable &kept me laughing the entire appointment. Believe me laughter goes much further taking your mind off what’s going on than yelling «Kelly Clarkson!» Lovely personality, great technique& extremely meticulous. If you’re booking your first Brazillian I highly recommend Maggie she will take very good care of you. Also ladies, be sure to exfoliate in the shower the night before& take some liquid Advil before your appointment, it helps!!!

I would like to start by saying that my first two initial visits were awesome, Mena was by far the greatest person to talk to and made me feel welcome. However, I wasn’t able to even walk in on my third visit due to the receptionist. I was running late and had driven 45 min through traffic because of my first two great experiences and I thought it was worth it. When the receptionist called I was already pulling up I was told «your appointment was at three thirty not three forty five, you can’t come in anymore your going to have to reschedule». Normally I would have been fine with it because I know they have other clients and I was running late. However, the way she spoke to me was unacceptable. I felt like I was being scolded and they were doing me a favor and I was no longer good enough to be a client. When I tried to explain to her why I was running late she dismissed me. Because of that I am no longer going out of my way to be a loyal client for a salon who doesn’t give two shits about their clients. Good thing European waxing was able to squeeze me in…

I went here for my first ever brazillian wax about a year ago. I was rather anxious and nervous about it. Mena immediately put me at ease. The first time hurt, I wont lie, but nowhere NEAR as bad as people make it out to be. She told me when to breathe just as she was ready to pull off the wax, and it did help. After a few visits it doesnt hurt as much. I dont exactly look forward to each visit, but I do enjoy the end result. Mena is fun to talk to and that helps distract you from whats going on «down there». I drive about 30 minutes each way to get to Aloha but I think it’s worth it.

I went here for the first time today and I can’t exactly remember the girl’s name… Maggie. Mena? I’m not sure and I feel bad! She was amazing! She was beyond professional and amazing. I only had my eyebrows done and she was so perfect at it. I couldn’t believe how gentle she was. I’ve had my eyebrows waxed and threaded plenty of times and never before have I felt so little pain during it. She did an amazing job and even gave me tips on maintaining. I’m not sure how I feel about bikini waxes but I feel like this would be the place to go!

Don’t waste your time trying other places in Naperville. Mena is THE BEST for waxing — she is efficient, thorough and easy to talk to… and always professional. She is better than anyone I went to previously in Chicago when we lived in the city. I love that they have expanded into the laser business as well and Lisa is amazing if you are interested in learning more about their laser services. It is always clean and the staff is consistently friendly. Highly recommend!

If you look at my review history, I have been coming to Get waxed by Aloha since 2009. There’s a reason for that, because in all this time, I’ve had nothing but satisfaction from the services I get. In all that time, I’ve had one customer service issue and it was an honest mistake by a new employee.
I loved Lisa as my waxer, but since she is outta the biz, I see Maggie. Maggie is one of the most thorough professionals I’ve come across, she gets all up your biz and removes everything. Some people may not like that but I appreciate it personally. (If you’re gonna get it done might as well get it all done.)
There’s free water and fruit in the lobby if you have to wait but I never have had to.
The only criticism I can offer is that it does get super warm in the rooms and that can be uncomfortable.

Aloha upped their prices (so it’s about on par with other places in the area, which is fine), but service has grown increasingly rushed, and I’ve left sticky with wax on more than one occasion. I think it’s time to shop around a little and see what else is out there…

I absolutely love Aloha Waxing!
All the girls there are very friendly and accommodating. I’ve been there when a client brought her daughter along with and none of the staff expressed any irritation that her daughter watched a TV show on a laptop while her mother was in her session. So kid friendly in that sense is a plus for all you parents out there!
It is beautifully decorated, clean, and organized. There is Hawaiian music playing throughout to go with the theme. If you’ve never been waxed before, I highly suggest you go here for your first time. Whichever girl you get will walk you through the process and make sure that you’re as comfortable as possible.
I can’t wait to start laser sessions once I have the money saved!

I HATE to have to update my review, but Aloha has given me no choice. The last time I went, I called to make my appointment and was informed that Lisa was no longer waxing due to a wrist injury. I did ask if she’d be coming back after her wrist healed, but they said that for now she planned on not doing any waxing. The person who answered the phone assured me that she would put me with one of Lisa’s replacements who had a very similar technique and was just as good… doubtful.
I should have known when the wax itself took about ½ the time it usually takes Lisa to do it and sure enough when I looked at my brows they looked just okay. I coughed up the premium price that I was willing to pay for the killer brows Lisa usually gives me and went along my way. As days passed, my brows started to look less and less okay until I realized that I in fact didn’t like them at all. So now, about 6 weeks later I am in need to have my eyebrows done again and I am scouring Unilocal to try and find a new place because I refuse to pay $ 18 for sub par eyebrows.
It really is a shame that Lisa has stopped waxing — I loved this place, but don’t think that I will be returning.

I meant to update this about a month or so ago but I’ve been busy. Anyway, onto the update. So in my last review, I’m sure I got a new girl and not the famous Lisa that you read in everyone’s reviews. Last time, it was pretty bad, you can read all about it.
I called for a same-​day appointment and I got a 7:30pm slot. I got there at 7:30pm but I had to wait about 15 – 25 minutes. I guess they were running late. THIS TIME I GOT LISA. I made sure because at first the lady didn’t introduce herself and I was curious on who she is. In my mind I asked, «Is this Lisa, I hope?»
Me: «I’m sorry I didn’t catch your name»
Her: «Oh! I’m so sorry, I’m usually better at this, I’m Lisa. Sorry it’s been a long day»
Me: «Oh… nice to meet you»

Lisa was amazing. All the great reviews on Unilocal is all her. She was fast, thorough, and most importantly, fearless. Not once did hot wax go over the same area like the last visit with the other girl.
Although she did stay in the room as I undressed, she made the environment casual enough where I guess it was ok.
So thanks Lisa for a better Aloha experience this time!
