Foiled Cupcakes

I really wanted to have a great experience with Foiled because I have had awesome results from them in the past. Their cupcakes are delicious and the packaging is cute. We were hoping to use Foiled cupcakes for our wedding, because my fiancé surprised me by having them sent to my office for our first Valentines Day together, as well as other occasions since. Honestly, we weren’t even planning on looking into any other bakeries because we were so excited to include something special that was from early on in our relationship. We both have had them sent to friends and family over the years and everything was great, so we decided to contact them about our wedding. When I first submitted the inquiry form, I got an email right away that was very enthusiastic and helpful. They even offered to send a new product to our home to taste since we live out of state. I was told that we could schedule a tasting for December and that they would get back to me about specific times and dates. The shipment they promised never arrived (it was scheduled for Dec 1^st), and no one ever called about the tasting. Three weeks later, I called to set up an in person tasting for the next time we were in town. Since then, I have emailed the person in charge of weddings twice and left 2 voicemails with that person and 2 with someone else over the past month and received no response whatsoever. My advice would be not to bother trying to contact them about spending several hundred dollars for cupcakes for an event, because they will never respond and apparently don’t need the business or value repeat customers.

I am so impressed with Foiled Cupcakes! Today was my birthday and they went «above and beyond» to make sure they were delivered to me today! The cupcakes were absolutely delicious! They were also so pretty! The young woman who delivered them was so sweet, even though it was evening and dark out by the time she got to my house. I was so touched that they went to such great lengths to make sure my cupcakes arrived today! My daughter, who ordered them, was equally thrilled! Excellent customer service and a fabulous product! Thank you Foiled Cupcakes for helping to make my birthday so special!

After reading the reviews, I’m thinking we just might have gotten a bad batch? We received 2 dozen cupcakes from a vendor and the cake was super oily to the point where you could feel it in your mouth. The frosting tasted like it was just plain whipped butter. An overall lack of flavor.

I was really hoping to give this place 5 stars, but I was a little disappointed. I ordered a dozen cupcakes for a birthday surprise and the price was great since delivery was free. I picked out the classic favorites and honestly they looked the same. It’s like they were missing the garnish on top. I also thought they would include standard cute messages but that wasn’t the case. I did get to try snickerdoodle and the frosting was amazing. I wish that they were filled with something in the middle to give it more of a layered flavor. Overall I would order from them again but go with different flavor options.

I placed an order on ¹¹⁄₂₉ for delivery on ¹¹⁄₃₀ for my birthday. I am only mad that I didn’t place it earlier so that I could take advantage of the Quippies (cute messages) !! These cupcakes are awesome they are terrific just damn delicious. All of my guest raved about the frosting and the moistness of the cake. I was totally satisfied ok beyond satisfied!!! Please tell me how I can order individually? Do you have a store? Oh and thank you Susan for returning my call so quickly!

I ordered a dozen Southern Belle cupcakes as a birthday treat for a friend, they were delivered in tact and quite beautiful, might I add. I can’t say with certainty that they were delivered on time, possibly 15– 25 mins outside of the promised 3hr window. But it was not a big deal.
I received mixed reviews from the group that partook in the birthday cupcake toast. Some weren’t impressed with the taste (complaining of oiliness); while others thought they were delicious. The birthday girl LOVED em’; and that’s the only opinion that really mattered to me!
I appreciate the easy online ordering, the varied options, prompt customer service (via email & phone) & delivery service. It made ordering a last minute treat hassle free. I’m certain I’ll order again.

I live out of town, but have a lot of friends and family in the Chicagoland area. Foiled Cupcakes are my go-​to gift! Now, in the interests of full disclosure, I have never tasted a Foiled Cupcake (boo hoo!) but, I have sent them numerous times and the recipients always love them. Their prices are very reasonable, considering that they offer free next day delivery in certain areas. Love it! Mari has emailed me personally with respect to my orders, and I’ve gotten thank you cards in the mail from them. Great service, and happy recipients!

The cupcakes were delivered on time and my brother said they were delicious. He shared them with his co-​workers and they were raving about them. He also said they were moist, and the icing was delicious. They enjoyed the names of the cupcakes and the unique flavors Foiled cupcakes has a lifetime customer in me! Thank you so much for the wonderful customer service and for helping me make my brother’s birthday extra special!

My go to for cupcakes. Incredible service from start to finish. It’s great to see people who love and care about what they do from making these wonderful creations to delivery and even afterwards to make sure I was satisfied with my order.
There’s always an assortment available with a rotation of new flavors available every now and then. I like all of them!

Ordered a dozen for a birthday surprise for my husband. Delivery was prompt and courteous. Packaging was cute! Flavors were delicious. One of my flavors was missing (Nutella) but when trying the one they substituted, I shut my mouth. It was a cheesecake one that was equally as amazing. I typically live off Molly’s cupcakes in the city but will comfortably use foiled when possible!

Fantastic flavors accompanied by very cute quotes, prompt delivery and personal card made for a really wonderful birthday present! Shall use them again and again whenever I need to brighten some dear one’s day!

I honestly can’t tell you why it took me so long to finally order from foiled cupcakes. This mistake will never happen again! I am so impressed by them. Not only were the cupcakes delivered at the promised time, with not even the smallest imperfection to a cupcake, but the girl who delivered them even wished my husband (who the cupcakes were for and delivered to) a happy birthday at the door, so cute :)
The cupcakes were delicious. Each and every single one that we had from the seasonal collection was perfection. i think my fave was the chicago rocky road one i think it was called. They were sooo moist and remained fresh for 4 – 5 days (and you know that never happens!!) I don’t have one negative thing to say about these cupcakes, and I am a serious cupcake snob!
Even after the cupcakes were all gone, the sweetness continued with a personal thank you card mailed to me, along with an email.

Ordered a dozen assortment — arrived on time and looked beautiful and IT WAS SO EASY!

I had ordered cupcakes for my work. Overall the cupcakes were very yummy. The only negative thing I have to say is they were delivered stone cold. We had to wait for them to be room temperature. I would order from Foiled Cupcakes.

My girl loved the cupcakes I got her for Vday! Thanks to foiled for making it possible for me to make her feel special even if I’m deployed and far away from her.

So darn cute with its packaging and so delectable with its multitude of flavors — I have ended up ordering these twice in the same month for various birthdays. It’s convenient that they deliver, and I adore the little touches from the whimsical wrapping on the box to the little identification tags tucked into the frosting of each cupcake to indicate the flavor.
A couple of my absolute fav flavors:
*Ooey Gooey — Love the chocolate and caramel sauces blending together with a bit of sea salt to strike that balance and not make it too saccharine.
*Pecan Pie — Again, I love the caramel. This time, it’s paired with the crunchy pecans, creamy frosting and moist cake that make this version of the pie even better than the original.
*Cheeseberry — I’m a sucker for these combo desserts. The cheesecake taste is in the frosting and there is a juicy blueberry surprise in the middle of the cupcake.

I ordered cupcakes Friday afternoon for a Saturday delivery. Delivery went off without a hitch. Friend’s birthday cupcakes were received with much delight! And the word from her is they are delicious!

To all the people who are tired of the cupcake craze: Perfect– More for me!!!
I don’t understand how the rumor even got started that cupcakes were a ‘trend’ anyway. And while I can’t speak from the beginning of time, I can vouch from 1984 on, and there has nary been a lull in my cupcake cravings.
So last month was Sweetest Day, a totally phony and made-​up holiday that my family has always managed to remember exists, even when they forget other national holidays, such as but not limited to my m*ther f*cking birthday. Yep. That’s for real. Only the day I was born. No big deal. So this year, I decided to give them the cold should and celebrate the stupid holiday by getting a dozen cupcakes baked locally, just miles from our house, shipped out to my boo and I in Schaumburg. Turns out, nothing tastes better than revenge cupcakes.
So this was my first time successfully ordering from Foiled Cupcakes and I have to say that ordering is was almost as much fun as eating them. I’d decided on doing a mixed dozen, each one a different flavor. I was even more excited to get to try out all the fab seasonal foiled cupcakes I’d picked out– Bubblegum, Lemonade, Peach, Nutty, Ninja and Coconut. Could.Not.Wait.
But then… Tragedy.
I get an email a day and half after I placed my order (I’d ordered 4-​days in advance) telling me that 6 of the 12 cupcake flavors were no longer available. #Bummer… but, on the bright side, they came back with a virtual cornucopia of fall cupcake flavors, including, Pumpkin, Mango, Pecan Pie, Pomegranate, Cookies and Cream and the most exciting, Root Beer Float.
On the morning the order arrived, I slept in and the guy was surprised by the saccharine-​filled delivery. He looked the box over, but since there was no card, despite my having penned a brief but thoughtful note to let him know just how much I appreciate his putting up with all my jazz, he had no idea who had sent the cupcakes (his family is big on sending treats, too) or why, so he tucked them away and waited for me to wake up.
When I finally got my ass into gear for the day, we whipped out those bad boys and unraveled the mysteries of missing card, although my groggy confession of ‘yes I sent them, it’s sweetest day, let’s eat’ was a great deal less romantic than the love note I’d entrusted foiled with when ordering.
Also, inside the box, not all the cupcake flavors were as I ordered them, even after having direct contact with Foiled to correct the flavors they had not updated on their website when I initially ordered. Most noticeably missing was the one I’d made an early prediction to be the favorite– The Root Beer Float. Instead we got multiples of the rather boring apple cinnamon flavor. Sad cupcake? Not quite. They were all still Ah-​Maze-​Ing, but I was a bit disappointed in the multiple hiccups that happened over the course of my order.
I also received a follow-​up email from Foiled asking how everything was and I detailed that I loved the cupcakes overall and I really appreciated the service, but I was a bit disappointed in the few points that went awry. It’s now been two weeks with no response back, and I have to be honest, there’s a bit of a bad taste left in my mouth about the lack of follow-​through post the follow-​up email, but I can’t deny that service is a great one, and one that I will likely give another shot because the cupcakes were all just so damn good.

Cupcakes. Delivered to your door with a click of the mouse. This could be a very, very dangerous thing. I can feel my ass expand at the thought of it.
There’s an indecision-​inducing amount of choices, but you can’t go wrong with a single one of them. I placed an order to cheer my mother up a few months back, and she couldn’t have enjoyed them more. The little candy sayings on top were a particular point of delight (and I didn’t even customize them)!
The owner even sent me a lovely little card to thank me for my order and express sincere wishes that my recipient enjoyed her cupcakes.
With tastes like this, my next order just might be kept for myself!

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed foiled cupcakes yet… one of my favorite Chicago businesses!
I’d been following @foiledcupcakes on Twitter for a year or so and was so impressed with Mari’s online business model… I decided it was time to order a dozen. I surprised my boyfriend with a delivery. They were extremely accommodating about my delivery time and I received a phone call confirming the details the day before delivery.
And…I finally got a chance to sample one myself. okay 2! Unbelievably good… so good I almost cried. The entire floor at work raved about how good they were and wondered where they came from.
I had the privilege of attending Foiled Cupcakes anniversary party a few months ago and I just can’t get over the company culture… fantastic! The BF and I even tried to build cupcake arts & crafts to win free cupcakes for a year. That says a lot for me… I’m the girl that almost failed high school ceramics…
Now if you read my Unilocal profile you know I’m always searching for the perfect cupcake. Company culture aside… these are hands down the best cupcakes I’ve had to date. DIVINE.
Now they just need a brick & mortar location downtown… ;)

I found Foiled Cupcakes via twitter (see, social networking works for businesses!) I was in the Chicago area for business and decided that having cupcakes as a treat for everyone working on our project would be a great way to wrap up our week. I kinda lagged on ordering so I wasn’t able to order a specialized mix but was very happy with the selection that was delivered.
A rundown of our flavors:
Southern Belle — red velvet and cream cheese frosting:
always the flavor that makes or breaks a cupcake place for me, I found their version to be moist and with a hint of cocoa. The cream cheese frosting was perfect — not too sweet.
Plain Jane — in both chocolate and vanilla cake versions with vanilla buttercream:
moist cake and the buttercream was rich and creamy
Aloha — vanilla cake with coconut buttercream:
again the cake was moist and the coconut flavor was there but did not overwhelm.
Cinnful apple — vanilla cake with apple filling, cinnamon buttercream:
this was like an apple pie turned into a cupcake!
Partners in Crime — chocolate cake with cookies and cream buttercream:
same great moist chocolate cake — the buttercream seemed to be the same as the other cupcakes with oreos sprinkled on it.
Great presentation on the cupcakes and overall, great cake and frosting combos. I wil be ordering these again the next time I am in the Chicago area.
