I have been with AT&T for more years than I can remember; left for contract term(2 years) and returned. Rarely have Any of my calls been dropped. Last week stopped to order my new IPhone5 and immediately was directed to an available sales person. In past years I visited this location and always waited at minimum 30 minutes. But I usually go prepare to wait so am always relaxed. Yes, I do have a life and a pressing career but just schedule my time better than some. Anyway, I had a lot of generic questions since I basically knew what I wanted and needed. I had to order my phone(21 days expected arrival). Also needed some accessories but my timing was right since they were having an unadvertised manager discount which saved me $ 40. And when I pick up my new phone they will determine the value of my current iPhone for credit to me. Service and costs are very important, the service is always great but the prices are high so I try to watch my bill and make adjustments as needed.

In the cell phone pack of wolves that live in Naples, the leaders are Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint. They take turns being alpha dogs, eager to devour cell phone customers. I just got rid of Sprint, and know the circulating stories about cell phone baddies AT&T and Verizon. But I must find out which bad dog roams the widest. Today, it’s AT&T. Plus they have one of the longest relationships with Apple’s iphone. So here we go again. New Day/Different Dog. Kudos to AT&T’s Retail Consultant Franklin Law who was really smart about sizing up what I needed, and who also gave me some good strategies for getting activated as well as getting the iphone5 when it was released two days after my initial office visit. Yes, I could get up really early — before the kennel opened at 8AM. On the iphone release date, I arrived fifteen minutes before store opening. Unlike more well known places with iphones, this retail site was a sleeper. Only twenty people lined up along the wall, in anticipation of getting the iphone5 bone inside when the doors opened. Word passed down the line that seven employees were at the ready. This was better odds for quick service than a normal business day, so we were all golden. Another associate passed out snacks and small bottles of water to the line. He wore the newest motto on his t-shirt, «It can Wait» against texting and driving. I felt bad for us all that this particular tech release wasn’t big enough at this location to earn all the food treats, let alone prime time news coverage. Across town at the Apple store, it was a feeding frenzy for more than a hundred. By 10AM the iphone supply was gone from the retail store’s lockup. I traded in my iphone4, got all the data transferred to a spiffy new iphone5, and left the store with AT&T’s transmission power unleashed to my new account.

Get ready… get set … And w a i t t. Zzzz. Yeah I’m next in line to be served. So I stopped in today before lunch and was hoping to upgrade my phone for another two years and get the newer iPhone 4 or learn if the 4s is worth the extra 100 bucks. I was quickly acknowledged after I went through the door on the left the other door was shattered and partially boarded up. I figured a break in or unhappy customer. Both were equally possible at this store. I walked around browsing all the old and new phones. Then sat down for a few more minutes waiting as timeeee slowly drags onnnnnnn. by then I was getting hungry. I wanted to break the other door as I was leaving and didn’t want prison bologna baloney sandwich. I figured I’d come back after lunch or maybe try another store. Oh well I think I became a Be BACK.

I got tired of the overcharges and expensive surprise bills. I left these guys over a year ago. I’ve never looked back.

They do the best they can for impatient customers. There is a greeter, if not, be sure and sign in first. ASK if you do not see it. They handle quite a large amount of volume, but are all very professional and helpful. There is a screen(like APPLE store) in the back wall that shows who is next in line. There is only one bench so you have to wrestle for a seat. Not a place to bring kids. Think they are successful in encouraging you to do what you need to online… usually a wait.
