A Thousand Faces

Super cute jewelry, art, stationery shop. TLots of cute gift items and because I was there just before Christmas (maybe) the store was chockful of stock so watch that big purse. Lots of unique items and prices reflect whether a piece is handmade or mass produced.
Staff was helpful. And the parking lot out back was great (it is a paylot). There is a backdoor to the parking lot so that was useful and then you get exit out to the street too.
Great shop to find a perfect gift, a special memento or something for yourself.

This shop had a great selection of jewelry and gifts. The staff was really helpful, and we left with some great items to remind us of Nashville.

This shop looked interesting while I was in the Hillsboro Village neighborhood, and I was peeking into other shops so I stopped in. They have an eclectic mix of things, and I think a lot of it is from local artisans, which I am happy to support. Cards, jewelry, wax seals, art, books, candles, bags… they have a lot of stuff, and some of it really lovely.
Unfortunately, I didn’t really feel all that welcome when I came into the shop. I browsed for probably a half hour, but I don’t think anyone even acknowledged my presence; there were only a few other people in the shop at the time so they weren’t packed with people. I hovered over a display case for a bit trying to look at a necklace that I was considering purchasing, and finally went to find someone to pull it out for me. I kind of felt like I was bothering her, which isn’t really the vibe I would want to give off if someone was looking at a $ 100+ necklace, but to each their own.
I might visit here again when in Nashville, but it wouldn’t be destination shopping for me – more just because I happened to be in the neighborhood for Pangea, Belcourt or Pancake Pantry. I visited four shops looking for jewelry while in Nashville, though, and ended up with seven pairs of earrings amongst three of them, so this store isn’t a place I have to stop to find something to my liking.

My significant other was looking for a specific gift for her brother’s wedding. She called several places and finally found the item on another website. A Thousand Faces did not have the item in stock, but said they could order it. After the purchase was made at another website, the owner from A Thousand Faces called me several times to say they had the item and it was ready for shipping and they needed a credit card number. After explaining that we already purchased the item elsewhere, the owner left a nasty voice mail and said to never call and try to order anything from their store… so…we will honor her request!

I came to A Thousand Faces while traveling to Nashville for business… what a fabulous boutique!
I wanted to buy everything in the shop — seriously. They have a ton of amazing art, including pieces by local artists. I purchased an art plaque and think of Nashville every time I look at it. :)
The shop is filled with great things for home (candles, art, blown glass), gifts, and jewelry.

What a great store!
I am a huge sucker for jewelry with words printed on it, of which they have about 4 cases full. It’s a good spot to do a 90 second walk through with my husband and drop incredibly unsubtle hints like «gee, golly, that bracelet would match almost everything I own!» or «this would be a nice birthday gift.» He appreciates unsubtle hints.

They’ve also got funny, inspirational and unique gifts and home décor items, making Hillsborough Village my first and only stop for Mother’s Day, sisters’ and friend’s birthdays/​bridal showers/​congrats gifts. There are items there in every price range, as well as cute cards and gift wrap. Treat yourself to some Las Paletas and espresso at nearby Hot & Cold and shop until you drop. Unless you’re dragging your husband along… then just 90 seconds of overt hints.

Overall: Great local card & gift store — wish I could give it 4.5 stars! Very glad this is down the street from my house.
I hate using the words «great» and «lots» because I feel like they aren’t descriptive but… oh well. Lots of little gifty items, jewelry made by local artists and scented candles. I’m also a huge fan of these glass ornaments they have near the front of the store — so pretty. There are lots of cards (as well as some by locals) scattered around the store so be sure to wander before you make your final decision.
Service has always been great and prices are what you would expect from a card store.

Absolutely enjoyed this place! It’s the kind of store that just makes you smile. I love the fact that they have local artists and unique items! Please stop in and buy something that you didn’t even know you needed but makes you happy.
Do pay attention to the parking rules — they appear to have a full time staff person checking parking receipts.

Saw an ad for this cute store on cable, and decided to stop in and browse. It was well worth the short trip! I spent some time viewing the fabulous jewelry selection and was amazed at the creative and original pieces. I purchased a couple of cards, and will be back in the near future for gift buying excursions. They have so many unique items (to my high school English teacher, I didn’t say «so unique», as I did learn that there aren’t degrees of uniqueness!) and cush a friendly bunch of employees.

I cannot believe I had never been to this place before. Such a gem in Hillsboro Village! Found some great Christmas presents. It’s a tight space, so if there are many people in there, it could get dangerous for knocking over some breakables. The staff was very nice. There are some pricey things here, but they are very good quality. Will definitely be back.

Been looking forward to seeing A Thousand Faces, I’ve heard the name in 99 different places! A Bunch of different Artists and Craftsmen are represented here, some are LOcal Artists for sure! I’m not sure about the rest!

I absolutely love the jewelry at this place. I can’t always afford the pieces I like, but they are so great to look at! To be fair, they do have some more affordable pieces, and I love that they are one of a kind type items.
I also like coming here for gifts, as they have a nice selection of candles, soaps, and other knick-​knacky cool stuff.

Great unique cards, beautiful local art, quirky household décor, and tons of jewelry.
A Thousand Faces is a fun store to peruse but most of what I found was pricey.

Local Nashville artists work ranging from the affordable to the absurdly over-​priced.

If you’re looking for a unique card and gift to accompany it, here’s the place. I have spent over an hour looking at cards in this place before, just trying to decided which one to buy. They range from homemade looking cards to just regular Hallmark-​ish card but from a different brand.
If you have a dog lover in the family, you pretty much have no choice but to buy them one of those brightly colored prints they have. And how could you not get the industrial dog statue to match?
Their jewelry selection is super unique. You’re not going to find it any more different than in this store. Be willing to cough up the green on some things though.

This place has some pretty nifty little gift items, and, while they aren’t necessarily up my alley, they’re relatively inexpensive and neat, and they’d all make good gifts. There are a lot of clay and glass items as well as cards, magnets and shirts – it’s the sort of place where I’d probably go to shop for a birthday present for my mom or sister.
Despite having some unique, hand-​crafted knickknacks and art pieces, most of the things at A Thousand Faces are pretty inexpensive. It’s a lot like Pangea only with slightly nicer items. There are a few display cases with necklaces, bracelets and earrings, though I didn’t see many of the prices listed. Regardless, the staff seemed pretty helpful and willing to show customers any items they’re interested in. I’d say this place is worth checking out.

I LOVED THIS PLACE! Why? It is really easy to have a store full of kitchy things that are irreverent, negative and hate on anything and everything.
A Thousand Faces has t-​shirts, jewelry, cards, knick-​knacks that all have positive messages. Not stupid inspirational slogans but sayings and messages about changing the world and being yourself. I am sure that sounds corny and cheesy but its not. I have a low tolerance for cheese. But we live in a world where people complain constantly but aren’t willing to work towards changing things. What would happen if we actually gave greeting cards and gifts to friends that didn’t make fun of getting old, eating too much and hating men but actually told them how great they were?
OK, I am officially stepping down from my soap box. But check it out the shop has tons of cool one of kind gifts and accessories.

Dear anyone who ever needs to buy a present for anyone female,
Come to A Thousand Faces. Buy some jewelry that is both shiny AND interesting (and probably one of a kind, since the focus is heavily on local designers). Get a card that’s funny/​irreverent/​beautiful/​sentimental. Travel back to your childhood and get one of the softest most adorable stuffed animals you’ve ever seen.
This place is the best «gift shop» in the true meaning of the words. In addition to the locally-​designed jewels and stuffed animals and such, they also have art, picture frames, AMAZING Christmas tree ornaments/​stained glass window hangers, and other random trinkets and gadgets. Back in the day they also had a pretty decent collection of Hobo International purses and wallets too…
In any case, if you need a present for someone you love or even like a tiny bit, head on over to Hillsboro village. You won’t be sorry.
