Sweet Cece’s

I was disappointed in how in the world this place has the amount of stars it does. A friend and I came in for some good froyo and the first thing I noticed was the cleanliness. It was very dirty and no one helped us, for example, asked if we wanted samples or was anywhere near for us to ask. The toppings were everywhere, in every different topping, so if you wanted chocolate chips you were also getting gummy bears and brownie crumbs. The atmosphere is awful and the signage is very misleading. Then there’s the quality of the yogurt, coming from someone who used to work at a froyo shop, it was liquidy and fluffy. Which means it’s been in the machine for long and they haven’t refilled/​cleaned machines. Finally, it is ridiculously expensive. For a small cup it was $ 5.49. They don’t do it by ounce unless you get a big cup. So get a big cup even if you don’t want a lot. That’s all. I’m done.

Recent changes = lower quality (from what I can make out!) Hadn’t been to this place in over a year, but the last time I went, it was absolutely packed. Tonight I went and it was empty, all except for the family that owned it. They were all super kind, but it seems as though they’ve added a sub/​gyro shop to the back, and the froyo isn’t their main focus… Therefore my boyfriend and I are driving back to campus with our $ 9 (total) froyo melting away in the car’s cup holders. :(
The chocolate flavor left my mouth tingly and tasted a little fruity which made me nervous… The cone was good though. So. There’s that.

I ordered the Pink juice. It was good, but not great. It’s hard to give a fair review based on one juice flavor. However, when I walked in, the first thing that I noticed was that the store smelled awful. They sell breakfast, gyros, fro yo and juice all in one location.

The staff wasn’t very attentive & insisted on getting samples for you (which I wasn’t a fan of since apparently he didn’t understand which flavor cookies & cream was). I also didn’t really want someone else touching my food either. Several of the good flavors were out of service. There weren’t many toppings to choose from. My spouses «per ounce» ended up being more expensive than the $ 5 fill a cup & was less fro-​yo! Only reason why this gets 2 stars is that the product that I did choose was good.

To clarify, the one star I gave was obligatory — Unilocal won’t let you give a zero star review. This Sweet Cece’s was appalling to say the least. The staff dispenses samples for you in the sample cups and frowns upon trying more than one flavor. However one MUST try more than one flavor because several of them are sour (yogurt should be tart, not sour)… namely the peanut butter, the chocolate, and the cupcake. The toppings? Cereal, lots of it. Nothing else worthwhile. The ‘fruit’ bar is sparse — the occasional stray strawberry can be found, and shredded coconut that has coalesced into a lump. So deceptive and such a shame given the prime location.

This place has gone downhill which is so disappointing. The Hill Center location is still great, but Hillsboro is just janky now. We walked in and it smelled/​looked dirty, there was melted yogurt on the floor and machines, only one fresh topping the rest were soggy and stale. I got original tart which I always get and it tasted like it had gone bad. Could only manage 2 bites before I threw it away.

After a long hiatus from this location, I decided to return when I was in the area again. I saw that they had added a sub shop to this location. Weird. I got my usual original tart, which I love to top with granola or fresh fruit. I was disappointed because I had to settle for some strawberry (the only fruit available) that was soggy and seemed like it had been sitting there all day. The rest of the toppings were just junk. Then the guy that checked me out was rude and asked why I picked tart because he doesn’t like tart, which he kept repeating until I just walked out the door. Um, okay. This location is going downhill fast…

Really unfortunate changes have taken place here over the last year or so. The toppings, which used to be plentiful and fresh, are mostly empty, old, and devoid of fresher options (where did the fruit go)? A few flavors were out of order. The prices have gone up, the charming staff are all gone, and the «subs n more» addition makes me feel like I’m eating in a Subway ambiance-​wise. I won’t be back.

One of the worst in Nashville the place is not clean and the yogurt peanut butter was not good

I live near this location and have been visiting it for years. I accepted the new charging system, though really didn’t like it, but today’s visit will my last. The toppings area had flies buzzing around and was not well stocked. This should have been my red flag, however, I really wanted some of that tasty, cold yogurt on a hot day. Their new POS system has the tip selection on it which they happily point out (insert guilt here). When I visit a restaurant where someone SERVES me, I feel tips are justified and, being a former server myself, I tip very well. When I visit a SELF-​SERVE frozen yogurt joint, I don’t think a tip is truly warranted unless something extraordinary takes place. MAYBE… and this is a stretch… a tip is okay when you order a sandwich there. Yep, they’re now offering subs. Looks to be like a Subway-​kind of deal — sandwich assembly line. I digress. Here’s the kicker: the flavor of one of the yogurts was «off». It had a very chemical taste. I called to let them know that there might be something wrong with this one flavor (we had a few favors). Now get this… the guy says, «it’s because it’s yogurt». Hahahaha! Well thanks for the education that Sweet CeCe’s yogurt SHOULD taste like chemicals. I guess there was actually something wrong with the other two favors we selected because they were yummy.

Went on the hunt for frozen yogurt and a place to just hang out and people watch. Was really disappointed in the selection of toppings for the yogurt — it seemed as if the staff put the toppings out first thing and never went back to check on them as the day wore on to see if anything needed to be refilled. Many of the toppings ended up being mixed probably as customers were using them — so coconut ended up on chocolate chips etc. The line to checkout was really long and took forever to move so by the time we sat down to eat our FroYo — it was half melted.

This is my first visit since they’ve oddly added the new «Subs n More» part to the shop, and I was pretty disappointed. Not only have they raised their ice cream prices, but the charm of the Sweet Cece’s franchise has been absorbed and lost with this new weird low end sub shop addition. Staff seemed clueless, and could care less, and the toppings weren’t well supplied. And, they didn’t have the loyalty machine running so my points for today’s visit are lost. I have been coming here every Monday on a regular basis for about a year and I won’t be back. I’ll drive farther for another location. Bummer.

I’m allowing 2 stars because the other locations are MUCH better. First off they don’t have free parking after 6pm. ($ 5) Second they had two employees working and no one was wanting to come help us when we wanted to try one of the flavors. There were only 4 of 8 flavors working. (The other were «out of service»). If you go to any other location they have what’s called «Weigh and Pay». Not knowing this location was different we all got little helpings and were charged full price for the large instead of how much we got.
SUMMARY: If in Nashville go to Green Hills, Brentwood or Franklin. Avoid 21^st.

Solid Froyo. Kind of on the expensive side, especially with the new system. There are a lot of topping choices, which is nice. Good for a treat every now and then, but wouldn’t make it a weekly routine.

Not a fan of the new payment system. I love sweet cece’s because I can always get just the right amount for under $ 4. However, now if I want the same amount it is $ 6. I know it might not seem like a big difference but when you are used to something, paying by the ounce, it is silly to change a good thing.

One of my FAVORITE places to go for fro-​yo. Fun flavours to try and I really like the toppings. I would give them a five if they would bring back mochi!
The staff is always warm and inviting. They will ask if you’d like to try a sample and check you out promptly. Pile it high or fill your cup halfway, it is up to you here.

Refreshing. I love vanilla or something similar with almonds and yogurt chips. Watch out for heavy items like cookie dough and brownies as you could end up with a $ 10 cup of ice cream.

I’m moving to Nashville next week, but until now, have been to Nashville exactly 2 times: once for a job interview and once to look for an apartment. Both times, some form of fate drove me to this Sweet CeCe’s and really it’s a match made in heaven.
Even coming in yesterday right after a group of preschoolers and having to wait for the teachers to fill and weigh all 15ish cups, I was happy to wait because I knew the deliciousness that would follow. Ah, heaven.
I don’t know that I’ll be a regular at this location, with traffic and parking not ideal (though the lot in back is free for an hour and a half). But Sweet Cece’s has officially stolen my heart, my stomach and my yogurt loyalties.

Okay so we love Sweet CiCis. The fact that this one is in the Village and surrounded by places we love to eat at? Oh so much better :-)

I have never been into a Sweet Cece’s before, so I was surprised to see that you get to build your own Frozen Yogurt and you pay by weight!
Because of where it’s at, LOTS of «Cool Kids» come here, so chances are good it will be busy. Because of the way its set up though, there doesn’t seem to be very often where there is a line.
Try the plain Vanilla with Strawberries. Mmm.
Also, be sure and get your parking sticker. The first 1.5 hours is free, so you aren’t going to have to pay.
