GOHERE. If you are trying to get coffee and you are visiting this town there are two main coffee houses. We went to the other one first. Our mistake!!! Then we searched for Common Grounds hoping to get actual coffee. The house blend here«Chaos» is amazing just by itself if you like your coffee black(it’s a dark roast). Their mocha was also superb and they offer more milk options than most coffee houses. The employees knew about their coffee and were very pleasant and able to interact with all generations which is a big deal for me. Thank you for redeeming my coffee experience in Nashville!

Delicious coffee, friendly staff. I tried the chocolate shot, and my hubby got an Irish Cream Italian soda. They told us about the history of the owner’s parents owning a restaurant in the building, and that’s how she came to open the coffee shop there. There’s also art for sale. It has a laid-back fun atmosphere, and tempting house specialty drinks on the back of the menu. We will definitely return for more!

Quite possibly the worst coffee drink I’ve ever had. I ordered an americano and it was the weakest coffee I’ve ever had. An americano is espresso with hot water, I think I got coffee with hot water. There was no way she pulled a shot of espresso that quick. I was already a few miles down the road before I took the first sip. 1 star for the cute barista.

Great coffee, lots of seating, an eclectic atmosphere, and the nicest staff around. The owner had fresh eggs ready for breakfast when we were there, which we were sorry to miss, but the blueberry muffins we had first were fantastic The coffee is excellent as is the Cappucino. Highly recommend.

Eclectic would be the right word to describe this place, as it’s a bit of a hybrid between a coffee shop, a bakery, a thrift store, a book store, and an antique store. It’s super cozy and I had an enjoyable time working away my morning here. Most importantly, the coffee was pretty alright, I had their Chaos house roast and it was pretty solid along with the homemade blueberry scone. I’ll definitely keep this in mind next time I’m passing through!

Great place to get a coffee in Nashville, there are two great places and this is probably the less frequented one. My double short americano was perfect and hot, served with a smile and a thank you, and not expensive. If you look around here you will also see a lot of kitch so look around. Lots of indoor seating to help you ponder your latte.

This place confuses me. It seems to me that it is having an identity crisis. I walk in expecting a coffee shop and find that it’s 10% coffee shop and 90% antique shop. Very odd, and the locals seemed put off by outsiders. My cappuccino was just okay, not bad, not great.

I’m pretty picky about my frozen frappes and this place had the best frozen coffee I’ve ever had. Service was outstanding, they get a little busy but it was definitely worth the stop. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to go back soon. Prices were very decent too!

This place is JUST off the beaten path as in it’s down an ally less than half a block from Van Buren(the main drag). A cross between your BFF’s livingroom & your Grandma’s dinning room with tons of overstuffed bookshelves and magizine racks make this the perfect place to hide from the weather, if your find yourself in Nashville during a downpour or snow squall. Their make your own Hot Coco is awesome choose from white, milk, or dark choclate and whole, 2%, or skim milk. Plus taking time to peruse a magizine you’d never buy while sipping from a real cup is an indulgance I need to take more offten.

It’s alright. I felt out of place when I walked in. I came in early, before anything was open and a table full of locals looked at me like I didn’t belong. The lady barista was nowhere to be found. A guy from that table had to get up and go grab her from the back. She was nice when she finally made it to the counter, and the coffee was alright. I just had a brewed coffee so I don’t have anything to say about any of their espresso or a variety of «fru-fru» drinks. The condiment bar only had half and half, and I take skim. By the time I turned around to ask if she had skim behind the counter, she was gone again. It’s kind of hard to tell where to order from also, very cluttered countertop and no clear area of where to go. I visited Common Grounds over a year ago, possibly 2, and it was in a different location. I had a much better experience then and is why I searched it out again. Not again, though.

I love this place. It is quirky and slightly off the beaten path, but it is wonderful. They have all sorts of items for sale(check out the handmade jewelry, paper items, and lotions), and their coffee is AWESOME! They have a variety of seating and café tables, so you’re sure to find a seat that’s comfy for you. This is the perfect place to relax for a few minutes while shopping or to bring a book and spend a few hours. They also have tasty quiches and baked goods. Plus, the staff is friendly and cheerful. Iris, the owner, is such a ray of pure sunshine. They make each beverage to order with extra TLC, so don’t expect the lightning fast service of McD’s or Starbucks, but the result is 50,000 times better. It is worth the wait! Lastly, their drink menu is huge! From fruity smoothie concoctions to steaming, creamy lattes to sparkling(!) teas, this is a truly unique coffee house.
