History

Established in 1996.

Fido originally housed the Bongo Java Roasting Company and served as an all day café and meeting place. After the roasting company moved into a larger space, owner Bob Bernstein brought in Chef John Stephenson to revamp the menu and turn it into more of a food-centric café. For the last 10 years Fido has been a leader in the local and sustainable food movement, with a large portion of their menu sourced locally or regionally, including local eggs, meats, cheeses, and produce. Working with Bongo Java Roasted 100% fair trade and 100% organic coffee and a rotating seasonal specialty coffee drink menu, the baristas at Fido have won raves from the coffee community for years. With the addition of a carefully selected craft beer and wine list, Fido has become the kind of place your can come to morning, noon, and night and still find something perfect to eat or drink. Though the line seems long, it moves fast and is well worth it for some of Nashville’s best food and drink!
