Nashville Street Tacos is about great food. Our menu is short, sweet and to the point. What we have are simple, well-​made items that represent the cuisine of the Baja region of Mexico all the way up to Sonoran Mexicali.

Our salsas and condiments are made fresh daily to complement our delicious food. None of our food comes out of a can, EVER. Nashville Street Tacos offers a variety of flavorful food choices for you to make our food custom, the way YOU like it.

Our proteins are of higher quality because we believe that our patrons of downtown Nashville deserve the best quality food available. We use true choice angus carne asada – flame-​grilled over mesquite coal – not bistec cooked on a flattop. We pulled out all the stops and spared no expense to offer you a «true-​Mexican-​food-​experience in the heart of music city»

We are passionate about our food and want to deliver that in every bite. Who wants a taco.

History

Established in 2014.

Nashville Street Tacos was started by Steve and Alane Kovach. The Kovachs are Arizona natives who recently moved to Nashville when Steve Kovachs construction company was commissioned to work on the new Music City center. Steve is a veteran Baja off-​road racer with a love for authentic Mexican cuisine. His countless trips to Mexico inspired him to open a restaurant of his own in the town that now holds his heart, Nashville. Steve purchaed the Nashville Street Tacos building and spent over a year renovating it to make it what it is today. With the help artisitc support of Matt Wahlstrom and the talented culinary expert Steve Sargent, NST was born. Nashville Street Tacos was created out of the groups passion for food and love of music. Nashville Street Tacos is a quick service, late night dining, bar and music establishment. We are proud of what we have created and look forward to sharing our hard work and dedication with the patrons of Tennessee.

Great food. Great location. Upstairs bar was small but had a great bar tender. The venue for live music upstairs was good as well. My wife and I were surprised how much we liked this place.

The wait was a little long but it was 11pm on a Saturday night so I understand it. But the wait was totally worth it. The Hot Chicken tacos were the best street style tacos I’ve ever had. If we come back to Nashville we will most definitely make another stop.

Wandered in here today looking for a quick and affordable lunch with my students. Needless to say, even the non-​Mexican eaters were happy! The menu had something for everyone, was decently priced, and tasted amazing! I had the street tacos and they were to die for! Will definitely be back at some point during our trip again!

When it comes to tacos, spicy = good; razor-​blade-​sharp = bad. Let me explain:
My girlfriend and I stopped into Nashville Street Tacos during our visit for a quick bite — she got the Hot Chicken Tacos. She ate one of the three tacos without a problem, but midway through eating the second, she got a weird look on her face. There was something in the taco that should not have been there. She pulled the object out of her mouth, examined it, and showed it to me — it was a half-​inch-​square piece of A RAZOR BLADE. A metal, insanely sharp, razor blade. And not a small piece of metal, but a piece about the size of a finger tip.
Questions raced through my mind: was she cut? Fortunately, no. How could a razor blade have gotten in the tacos? WHY is there a razor blade anywhere in the restaurant, much less in its food? How did the razor blade get in the taco without either of the two workers who assembled the tacos seeing it or cutting themselves?
I took the tacos and razor blade to the cash register and asked to speak with the manager. The cashier took the razor blade and tacos to a back room, and came back a minute later — but no manager came out. She apologized profusely. They immediately set about making a fresh order of tacos. She apologized again. Still no manager. She then handed me two punch cards for free meals and apologized again. I just found A RAZOR BLADE IN YOUR FOOD, and you think I want to come back???
The manager never came out. They did not offer to refund the meal. A customer just bit into a razor blade in their tacos, and their reaction was simply to offer free future tacos.
Health risks and sanitation concerns should be your takeaway from this review — Stay away!

Not only were they out of everything (margaritas, steak, pork, cheese and certain sauces), but what they did have was gross (for instance, the chicken was burnt and impossible to chew and the guacamole was a nice brown shade). The tacos are about 3 inches in diameter and are completely overpriced, not even considering that they’re not even good. Will not be coming back.

Being from southern California, the official street taco center of the Universe, I didn’t have very high expectations but it turned out that the food was great! Try the pastor. Food was great and staff really helpful. The only negative thing I have to say was turned into a positive by the staff. We were in town on a Sunday and Monday and after exploring all the honky tonks came specifically to this place and found it closed. Learning from our mistake, the next day we went there in the afternoon and asked them to put all the ingredients in separate containers so we could put them in the fridge at our condo and reheat them when we came home drunk. They were very accommodating and despite their shortened hours we still got their great food. Thanks.

I know what you are thinking and yes, Tacos on Broadway are better than street vendor hot dogs.
First — They are open until 3:00 am. This is probably the best part about it for anyone out on tourists.
Second — Everyone who works there is awesome. They are super friendly and they ALWAYS make my order right. ALWAYS I tell yah.
Third — $ 5 margs.
Chipotle style ordering. My favorite is the Baja Fish Tacos. they are so delicious and their baja sauce is great. AND they have cilantro! How awesome is that?
The burritos are huge — Larger than my head, I swear.
For those who work downtown, it can get a bit crazy at lunch time, so I would suggest going a little early or later than normal if you don’t like lines, but the lines are worth it! There isn’t a lot of seating, so I usually take it to go.

Pretty good stuff! Tacos and the such built to order. Everyone was super nice. Cool atmosphere if you need something a little different than country western the neighborhood is built around.

I attended a show on Broadway and stupidly walked out of the bar at like 10:30 on a Friday night. With extensive lines to get into every bar, I decided to walk back to my hotel…
Only a few buildings off of Broadway, I saw a sign for Tacos. Figured I would grab a bite and be on my way. It ended up being one of the highlights of my week long trip. The food is fantastic, the staff is very welcoming (shoutout to the upstairs bartender), and a surprisingly quaint venue for live music.

Very much like a Qudoba, Chipotle has more flavor
It hit home for calories to continue on our way, but I would not recommend especially with so many amazing places to eat near by that far surpasses the flavor

I stopped here to try some tacos while visiting Nashville for the weekend. I was really hoping to get a great fish taco, as I am a southern California baby and therefore a bit of a fish taco snob.
I was not disappointed. I was served an incredible fish taco. The breading was light and crispy. The sauce was tangy and delicious, a perfect compliment for the fish. All the the ingredients were so fresh and the taco was assembled well.
A good fish taco is simple, and so often restaurants miss the mark or overshoot with too much sauce and toppings, put this place got it just right. I will be back for a fish taco fix!

Use your 20% Unilocal check in offer ! Even when we stumbled in at 2am on New Years the service was pretty fast! They were out of chicken and steak which I didn’t mind because we wanted the el pastor anyways. The quesadilla was freaking HUGE and we got stuffed off of that and chips and queso!
Our 2nd adventure the next day we tried the steak tacos. Pretty disappointed in the tacos. I would have rather had my standard steak quesadilla or stuck with the el pastor. Anyways the food and service was all thumbs up and I would stumble into this place again and again !

I came here with two girlfriends for a fun weekend in Nashville and we spent the better part of two hours getting a dance party going upstairs to the live music. The late night atmosphere is so deeply needed in Nashville and it’s great to find a spot open and serving food when you need it most.
I tried a fish burrito and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else, the fish was freezer worthy and didnt match the other flavors well. But the pork nachos were pretty great as was the queso. I just wish the employees had seemed a bit happier.

Not the worst tacos, but not the best either. They are alright, and I’m guessing had I been drinking, these would be better.
I tried a few tacos (al pastor, chicken, fish) and chips with salsa and guacamole. Chips/​salsa/​guac was good. Tacos are bland and not all that exciting. Even my sister, Stacey M., who had been on a hunger strike all day, was less than impressed.
However, I would not turn away after a late night.

Gross food, rude service, and the weakest margarita I’ve ever had. For $ 12 I got 3 bland veggie tacos and a frozen strawberry margarita, which I’m almost certain contained no alcohol whatsoever. The tacos just had black beans, pico, cilantro, and guacamole. All ingredients bland and cold.
My friend from UK, who is visibly of drinking age and traveling internationally, attempted to order a beer and they wouldn’t sell it to him because he didn’t have his ID on him. They then wouldn’t let me buy it either.
I only give two stars because they were generous with the guacamole.

I would def agree with previous reviews comparing this to chipotle.
It was very clean and you watch your entire order being made in front you. We ordered a chicken macho nacho and an order (3 tacos) of pork tacos. Both of which were very tasty and the nachos were huge!
I especially liked that for the nachos, the preparer pulled out 2 real chicken breasts and chopped it up. Real chicken breast, not something that was cut up earlier.
We added a small side of rice to our order. Nothing special about it. In fact, it was pretty much plain white rice so skip that unless you’re getting a bowl!
There was a second level where there was a trio of guitar players singing. Pretty cool for a taco restaurant. A huge TV downstairs played the performance for those eating downstairs.
They also have a small outdoor dining area.
Check it out if you want a quick, filling meal.
