This is the quite literally THEONLY burrito shop for me. I get the chorizo, egg, and cheese burrito with a side of sour cream. It’s inexpensive and SO filling. Today, we were in a bind and needed tons of eggs for our Junior Achievement burrito bar and Oscar’s provided. AMAZING group of people over there. Go see them!

Fantastic fresh made burritos and tacos. Steak burritos and chicken tacos were made with fresh ingredients. The California burrito was very large and filling. Chicken taco had a fresh and flavorful taste. Food takes time to as all orders made to order but we didn’t wait to long. Limited eat in area. Couple tables on sidewalk. Will definitely go back.

Just what downtown Nashville needed, authentic Mexican cooking with quick service and a meal to look forward to! You can’t go wrong with the breakfast burrito! If you’re wanting to switch up the usual 2 eggs, sausage, bacon meal, the you gotta check out the breakfast burritos on the menu! I really like the chorizo(seasoned pork), egg and cheese burrito! They have excellent tortillas and if you know Mexican food, the tortilla is what either makes or breaks your taco/burrito experience! Breakfast menu served all day long! Woohoo! For lunch, try the shrimp burrito! The shrimp is sautéed to perfection and ask them to add cilantro to your burrito for that extra savory flavor! You’ll want to squeeze lime juice before each bite so ask for a few extra lime wedges! Add some spicy red salsa before each bite, as well! Stay hungry my frrrriends! Salud!!!

Round number review for unexpectedly awesome five star fish tacos. I mean, this is Nashville. Nashville is a country music capital and I’d expect to see barbecue and Mexican joints here. What I did not expect was this little taco shop that’s in the shadow of the Tennessee Tower to have the best fish tacos that I’ve had in years. How were they so awesome? Let me count the ways. — Hand made double stack flour tortillas. — Freshly fried fish pieces that were HOT — Crispy slaw that wasn’t mushy or wet — Tangy drizzle of creamy salsa over the top — A wedge of lime for each taco It was yuuuuge, it was tasty and it was great value. I would totally return to Oscar’s! Round number #5800.

Yum! We stopped here for a quick bite pre a hockey game. Great fresh and very tasty tacos. We loved the fish and pastor ones. Great value.

The tacos here were made very fresh upon ordering — kind of evidenced by the decent line and substantial wait for the food. I ordered the carnitas, fish, and the shrimp. I have to say the shrimp was my favorite — whatever sauce they put on those tacos made me want more. These tacos were packed with flavor, but knocking them down a star because they have a little less meat in each than I’d prefer.

Good food, nice people. Nothing too extraordinary. Quick lunch. Walking distance to downtown. Bathroom was terrifying.

Seriously amazing tacos! I’m from New Mexico, and was looking for a quick, reasonably priced dinner near my hotel. Oscar’s far exceeded my expectations! I wish they had an Oscar’s back home. I’d be a frequent shipper!

Nice little taco shop I stopped in while touring downtown Nashville. Small inside and I must have arrived about 15 minutes before school let out as it was flooded with high school kids by about 2:30pm which indicates that the food is decent as well as inexpensive. I ordered 3 rolled tacos and 2 shrimp tacos which took about a little more than 7 minutes to cook– I consider this a plus as it means everything was made fresh. This did not disappoint at all, the two shrimp tacos were piping hot and absolutely stuffed with large seasoned shrimp and pico. I was given the traditional choice of mild green or red hot salsa which drizzled liberally. Very tasty and am glad to say that they DO know how to cook tacos in Tennessee. Would come back if I didn’t have about 20 other places to try in town!

Absolutely the best tacos around. We even brought friends back the next day from SoCal and even they were impressed!

3.5 I was downtown walking to a few different places when I decided my afternoon would be vastly improved with some tacos. Tacos make everything better, am I right? I am an absolute sucker for carnitas. Tender little pork morsels not only fill my tummy but fill me with glee. So dos carnitas tacos, por favor… The flavor was great; however, my being only one of three people there waiting almost ten minutes for two tacos was a bit much. I could understand if there were several more folks inside. Hence the 3.5 and not a 4 star billing. The meat was a bit crisped on the edges but moist and flavorful inside. Oh, piggy taco, thank you. Seating was limited but as time progressed I saw a steady stream of take-out orders. The selections available all seemed like something I would like to try in the future. Aside from the wait, the staff was friendly enough. Will I return? Honestly, I am not sure I would make a trip to specifically do so with parking in the area being what it is. But I am glad I experienced it this time.

Good place for a simple, quick taco or other Mexican food. The service a little abrupt, but the food and value make up for it.

Oscar’s Taco Shop is good for a quick lunch in a cool part of downtown Nashville. I got the shrimp burrito and enjoyed it. It wasn’t as filling as most burritos, but it was good.

Love love love Oscar’s! Just wish they stayed open later. I usually get the shredded beef or chicken tacos with rice and queso and it never disappoints. The only downside besides their closing time is that it can get pretty busy on the weekends, which sucks since there is very limited seating. Other than that, the food is so so good!

After recently moving downtown each week I go to a different place to eat. Unilocal the reviews for Oscars and was really excited to try my first fish taco. well I didn’t have anything to compare it too I’m not a fan of fish tacos. But I did have a burrito and some guacamole. the guacamole was good but I love it. The burrito is decent. Although I doubt I would go there again. 3 stars

Cheap food, but you get what you pay for… I wouldn’t choose it over Taco Bell, that’s for certain. I felt like my plate was served up to look like a dog’s breakfast.

Oscar’s is the kind of restaurant I like for lunch, fast and reasonably priced. It was hopping when I stopped in but they worked through the line fast. I waited about ten minutes for my food and there was a line the entire time I was there. I had the fish tacos and a carnitas burrito. The tacos were really good, loaded with pico and whatever«Oscar sauce» is. The carnitas burrito, if judged on it’s own, was tasty but the pork was really dry. However, with a touch of house hot sauce on each bite, it worked out just fine. If you like fast Mexican food, made by friendly staff, when you are downtown, try Oscar’s.
