Sheraton Needham Hotel

Hmmmm… you be the judge. Me And my husband (same sex couple) check in and are assigned two double beds for a reservation made weeks ago. The front desk clerk is asked if there is a king bed available and there is not. Overheard the heterosexual couple checking in next to us who made the reservation on Expedia minutes prior to arrival being welcomed to their king room. That may fly in Arkansas but not MA.
As a side note when did it become a sign of «class» to have a snotty desk clerk with the personality of the dead?
Pps… Also delighted to be charged 12 for to park in an open garage…
Next time I will pay the extra to stay at a world class hotel closer to Boston.

We stayed here in May 2016 for 5 nights. On the last night we needed to use the pullout sofa bed. One room had no sheets on the sleeper the other had dirty sheets! At 4:00 pm we requested that the bed be made up. We left the hotel at 5:30 and no one had come. We returned at 10:45 and still no sheets. The front desk said we had to wait until 11:00 pm when a maintenance man came in. We made numerous calls to find out what was happening and even offered to come down and get the sheets. At that point front desk clerk said no he would come up with them. We finally received them at 12:45 am! This is totally unacceptable and have never had something like this happen.

Stayed here for 3 night and loved my stay. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel gives you the option for being «Green» for an exchange of SPG points or food credit. There is no fridge in the room but not sure if you can request one. There is a microwave available for use by the ice machine and the vending machines.
Dog friendly, a huge plus for families looking to travel with their fur-​babies.
The gym is small but has all the basics, including a yoga mat. The pool is heated and a decent size. There is also a hot tub next to the pool.
The hotel offers a shuttle from the Newton Highland station for those who are looking to go into Boston. The shuttle does not run on the weekends (which we were not told when we called to ask if the hotel has shuttle) and can be a few minutes wait at times. I though the $ 12 parking fee was a bit ridiculous for a hotel so far away from the city. Under 8 hours parking is free for visitors. Über to the station cost about $ 7.
There is starbucks coffee and tazo tea in the room and more to buy at the bar in the lobby. There were always people enjoying drinks and food in the lobby so it seemed pretty popular. There is american breakfast buffet for $ 18. There was bagels, toasts, bacon and sausages. The home fries with the hot sauce was pretty good. If you don’t want to pay arm and a leg for food at the hotel then you can walk to the panera next door. There are stores and restaurants walking distance from the hotel in Newton (just across the bridge).

Impossible to reach anyone on the phone as if they do not want any business. I have been trying to get a hold of restaurant and bar manager to book an event. Called them daily, for a week, spent hours on hold, once I reach someone they take my name and message. No one ever called me back or emailed. The same story every day morning or night for 8 days, no one to talk to, no one who can make a decision.

Stayed here for a business trip. My room, 366, literally vibrated all morning. I don’t know if it was the HVAC or what, but the floor was clearly vibrating. Was moving enough that the TV cables squeaked where they touched and something metal in the bathroom rattled intermittently.
Complained and they moved me, but seemed surprised. No way I’m the first person to complain. I would definitely avoid 366 or any rooms close to it.

Very nice stay, I decided to book again. Good sized room, nice and helpful staff. Knocked off a star for the $ 12 parking which is plain silly. Just include it in the room, I mean, who’s going to arrive to a hotel ON FOOT? :) Room was clean and quiet and the beds were comfortable. Linen was top quality.

The hotel staff is very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Kelly Kevin and Brendon were all very informative about the area. The complimentary van shuttle. To local businesses and the train station helped me as well. I have always had a good experience with the sheraton needham

Checked in Tuesday evening for a 2 night stay. Comfy bed and quiet, UNTIL 6:30am when someone began using the treadmill above my room. Loud, constant and thumping. Completely unacceptable to put a gym above a hotel room. They switched rooms for me… which meant repacking and moving my belongings at 7:00am in the morning. They are aware of this issue and still book residents into this room anyway. Since I wasn’t the first this happened to, it seems unethical to wait and see if someone will complain. I won’t be staying here again. I wouldn’t recommend you to either.

Our room was very nice. The reason for the one star review is that we had some time to kill before a wedding, so stopped at the hotel bar to have a glass of wine. Despite the bar being open, we couldn’t find an employee anywhere. Finally someone came by and just stood there folding napkins. When I finally asked if we could have a drink, she looked annoyed and said «what kind of a drink.» I said any glass of wine would be ok, and then she was unable to open a bottle of wine without going to find someone else for help. Obviously she must not be a regular bartender, but I don’t know why a nice hotel would just not have any employee around.

Really nice and super clean. Parking is $ 12 bucks but reasonable I guess. Room was ready early, quite large and immaculate. Bar was quiet but they had decent pub fare. Right off of Rt.128 so that is a bonus for getting around. Free shuttle from 4pm till 7pm to get you to the local spots and train to Boston.

The hotel was beautiful but I had a few bad experiences with staff. A) I was moved to a handicap room, due to needing an accessible bathroom. They did give me some plastic bath mats, but I still almost slipped on a hard marble floor. If I didn’t have a good grip of my walker, I would have been seriously injured. Staff were dismissive and rude about my concern and made no attempt to make it up to me. B) check out was for 12:00 PM. At 8:30 AM, housekeeping entered our room and woke us up. Front desk staff said they’d check into it, but we didn’t get an apology. Also, if you give your debit card for incidentals, you will receive a $ 50 charge to your card, which was never explained and I’ve never experienced at other hotels, that takes 2 – 5 business days to return to the account. I will never stay here again due to the staff and safety issues that were not adequately addressed.

Many of us stayed here over a weekend for a family event. As one of our party commented «this is the worst Sheraton we’ve ever been in.» The rooms were expensive, and so not worth the price. Despite the fact that two of our party were handicapped, we were put on the first floor, which had no handicapped access. The room itself was so-​so, and the walls were thin, so we could hear everything that the very loud people on either side of us (who are not part of our party) were doing and saying.
On top of that, the service was awful. When we checked in, we were told to go outside of the hotel to a ramp — at the end of the ramp was a small step. Hotel employees came outside after us – not to help, but to laugh as we struggled to surmount the small step. As we were checking out we learned why the employees were so non– service-​oriented — the hotel is slated to change hands at the end of the month. Maybe the next managers will provide better service — it can barely be any worse.

I stayed here for just one night after a day exploring Boston.
Joshua at check in was very personable. There was a short staircase to first floor room rather than an elevator, but they did have a lift that could be accessed if needed. There was a charming little courtyard outside my room window. My room was clean. I was dismayed to find out that the curtains wouldn’t close all the way to block out light which I thought would be a problem come morning, but I woke up really early anyway. I could hear very loud toilet flushing from another room several times, and could hear people clomping around, either above me or maybe coming up the stairs, I’m not sure where it was coming from. The bathroom in my room appeared fairly newly updated.
I stopped by the lounge for a drink and it seemed odd to me that multiple adults seated at the bar in the lounge at 8:00 were ordering/​eating ice cream. Maybe I was missing out. Bruno at the bar was great and also offered up a dish of snack mix with my beverage. The good crunchy kind with the sesame stuff and wasabi peas. The lounge/​restaurant was surprisingly busy by 8:30 at night.
Overall this was a fine stay but if I had it to do over again I would try to find someplace closer to Boston.

This is the second time we have stayed here. The first time was because we were visiting from Chicago. Now we actually live In Boston and we needed a weekend get away. Price is right for a nice hotel room, pool and jacuzzi, great gym that is never busy, and a nice breakfast buffet! Definitely would recommend to anyone.

DOG FRIENDLY hotel. Huge plus for my family.
GYM and POOL. Perfect size. Clean. Plenty of equipment and earbuds in case you forgot yours.
Food is Fabulous! My favorite is the MEATLOAF SANDWICH. So flavorful, made with bacon. Topped with the most amazing warm tomato jam.
MACARONI and CHEESE is delicious.

Very affordable and not too far of a drive all over Boston. The room is very clean and warm. You do have to pay for parking $ 12 a night. I stayed couple of days and I wish we had a fridge– I love my drinks nice and cold. But overall, it’s nice and everyone was helpful.

Places and spaces can take on the color and energy you bring to them. If you are sad, everywhere you look, everywhere you sit, everywhere you lay your head, can seem dull and gray, bleak, lifeless. Conversely, if you are happy and full of joy, all around you seems brighter, more vibrant — pillows seem softer, beds more comfortable, living spaces warm and inviting. So it was with great trepidation that the kids and I joined Ellen over Thanksgiving in Boston as she cared for her ailing father.
The Sheraton Needham Hotel turned this adage on its head. From the moment we arrived, the management and staff went above and beyond to make our stay as best as it could be. After a long and grueling flight, Anne, the night manager, greeted us with a smile, said sweet things about Ellen (who had by this time been at the hotel for over 10 days) and exuded a positivity and warmth that cut right through the cold and snowy Boston night. Our late check — in went without a hitch and our room was waiting clean and comfortable.
The hotel is not a swanky 5 star affair. But it’s amenities are more than adequate: free WIFI throughout the hotel; an indoor swimming pool and gym with free weights and cardio machines; a full service restaurant and bar; a complimentary hot breakfast each morning on the top floor; room clean and neat each afternoon upon our return. It’s even dog — friendly. This review is one of the easiest I have written and I really want to thank everyone at the Sheraton Needham Hotel for making my family’s stay over Thanksgiving a real pleasure.

So I booked this hotel using Priceline’s Name Your Own Price tool. I low balled and was rejected several times before my offer was accepted. When they sent me the name and location of the hotel I was kinda bummed about the location and a bit concerned because of the rating on Unilocal.
What was done was done so I vowed to make the best of it since the reservation was nonrefundable. We literally paid ¹⁄₃ of the price we would have paid had we stayed in the city. We paid ½ of what we would have paid had I booked directly with the Sheraton. So at least I got a killer deal!
We used our Unilocal app to get us directions to the hotel and it was really easy to find. Upon check in the lady who helped us was friendly and even gave us fresh green apples. The rooms were spacious and clean. The whole hotel has been updated recently and has a very modern yet comfortable feel. We paid $ 12/​day to park our rental, but Wifi and water bottles left by housekeeping were free. We decided on a rental car due to the fact that we were going to a Patriot game and there was no easy/​fast way back to Needham. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the train station but we never used it since we had a rental. If you are staying here while visiting Boston I would suggest doing research on the train or opting for a rental since the hotel is on the outskirts of town.
As with most hotels we stay at during vacay, we were hardly at the hotel but felt comfortable and safe when we slept. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would return when we visit Boston again.

I’ve only ever spent time at the Needham Sheraton for business meetings, never having stayed overnight. However, for business functions, this is a great location. The staff is very friendly, the business food options are good, and the parking and overall access to the hotel is very convenient.
Overall, I’d highly recommend the Needham location of the Sheraton hotel for business functions and meetings.
