My sister ordered some beef and chicken fajitas from this place for our parents joint birthday party and boy they were tender! The rice was bland and the refried beans were okay. Hey what can I say my wife makes the best Mexican rice therefore I’m a tough critic lol

I go to Casa Garcias every week as I like the margaritas there however the customer service specifically in the bar area needs major improvement and for that matter really needs employees who want to work. Here is my first hand experience and observation since starting my weekly visit to Casa Garcias. The staff in the bar area are not attentive to customers needs and every week no matter who works in that area they all have the same attitude and we have the same experience. They do not act like they want to be working as the other night our wait girl started yelling to another employee over our head that she ‘needed to take a break’. Really??? They don’t listen when asking them for water, drinks as they are engrossed in their cell phone!!! As a restaurant, I would think that management would have everyone put their cell phones away while working their shift. It is just very disappointing to come to Casa Garcias and to sit in the bar area and have this type of service. When I sit in the restaurant section there are 2 waiters who are always attentive and for that I am thankful. Maybe the bar staff all need a wake up call or be fired. I am sure I will go to Casa Garcias again but I will not be sitting in the bar area.

Casa Garcia’s is close to the house and convenient for shopping, errands etc., so I was hoping that it would be an awesome restaurant. Unfortunately it was a pretty rough first experience for us. The service was slow and neglectful. We ordered an appetizer and it never delivered. Our waiter didn’t write anything down either, so maybe this was the issue. The bar was quick but inconsistent. The margaritas did not have much alcohol in them and the second round of drinks came out looking brackish and cloudy — not very appetizing. The food was very average but could have been over-looked if our waiter had put some hustle into his step. Anything that resembled competence and effort would have made the rest of the experience a little better.

The margaritas are over the top. The best. Chips and queso. Yum. the appetizer plate with nachos, flautas and quesadillas is the best. Ate at the Buda location too. Excellent there too. Clean too

Pretty good tex-mex. Chips & salsa are excellent. We had the fajitas(mixed) for 2. The meats are under spiced but came with plenty of tasty onions & peppers on the platter. Rice & beans were above average. Pico was too mild for me. Guac & sour cream were normal. Two different cheeses, fresh, didn’t have the sawdust taste of packaged grated cheese. The server forgot the add on shrimp, 5 or $ 5, but brought them out after asking, nicely pan sauted. Along with 2 beers, $ 40 total, with lots of leftovers(we don’t overeat). Good value. Service was acceptable but could have been more attentive.

Fajitas were dry. Tamales were out of a can! Corn tortillas were disgusting. Gringo Mexican at its worst here. Don’t go there expecting good Tex mex I’ve ate better Mexican food in Missouri

A great place for a quick lunch. I came with a group of 10 and Casa Garcia’s had our food ready in about 10 minutes! I had the cheese enchiladas which were great because they were extra cheesy. The chips and salsa were also good. Our waiter was funny as well. This was my first time here and it was a lovely location. It’s perfect for someone on-the go.

GROSS Bathrooms. Hair all over the sink and their feminine waste area hasn’t been cleaned in forever. The food… Well disappointing is putting it mildly. I took pictures of my Veggie spinach quesadilla WITHOUT mushrooms… What a joke. Loaded with mushrooms and little to zero veggies. I have to laugh. The fajita enchiladas are just plain chicken in a tortilla with cheese on top. Did someone not make a veggie run?

Decent restaurant excellent fresh tortillas but service could use a little work. If you want a «run of the mill» type of Mexican restaurant you won’t be disappointed with this place.

This place is pretty darn awesome! I have to say so far it’s the best Mexican food in NB. The breakfast tacos are small but pretty delicious(not the best I’ve had). Their salsa is quite spicy! The mango margarita is amazing! It has fresh mango chunks in it. I had the spinach enchiladas and they were so rich and filling! They came with flavorful white rice and refried black beans which I had never had. They were very tasty! And the service is pretty good!

They let me try a new a new table sauce, if you will. Cabrito, or Green Goat. I put it all over my chicken nachos! So delicious! Husband had Numero Uno and was satisfied as usual!

My wife and I just ate here for the first time. We’re new to the community and decided we’d try it since it is just around the corner from our home. We are sorry we did. Me: I ordered the Pork Carnitas plate. The carnitas were dry, flavorless chunks of meat on a plate. The refried beans were good. The guacamole was passable. The chips were excellent. However the main course was a disaster. My wife: She ordered the Chicken Burrito plate. The burrito was bland, very little cheese, and on the dry side. Again the beans were good. Because the burrito was so dry(it had just a thin film of the salsa verde on the top of the burrito) my wife asked the waitress for a little pico de gallo. They brought out a small dish with two spoonfuls of the pico. When we got the check we saw that we were charged a dollar for the pico addition to the meal. The service was good. The chips and salsa were excellent. We didn’t have any drinks but they seemed to be popular. Might be a better place to have a few drinks with friends but if you’re looking for great Mexican food you might want to try a different place. If you’re new to New Braunfels and want great Mexican food I’d recommend you consider trying Mamacita’s.

Not impressed Had to ask for chips and salsa. Chips had a weird texture. And not hot. Chicken enchiladas were very dry. Over all don’t think I will go back.

Service is good. Hot sauce is way to spicy hot, I suppose this keeps down in people eating to much of it. Chips were great. Cheese enchiladas had to much black pepper in them. Guacamole, queso, and taco was good.

The food here is very good. The pork in red chili sauce(Asado) is flavorful. I did not find this place on my Apple map but it was on Unilocal. The service is good and the sweet tea is refreshing. The Salsa is a traditional red and it has good flavor. The guacamole is very bland so I would not recommend it. The margarita on the rocks is perfect and comes in a large serving.

In a nutshell, never coming here again. Upon walking in, no hostess. We stood at the front area for a good minute or two, made eye contact with several of the staff and each one completely ignored us. Thinking it was a just find your own seat, that’s what we did and waited another couple of minutes. No one came to the table, no one checked on us. Then we saw the hostess seat a party in the booth next to us and I asked for utensils/menu. Before we got them, a waitress came to take our order but we didn’t have menus or even order drinks yet. The hostess returns with the menus and just plops them down on the table. No apology, nothing. Once we’re finally squared away, we get food relatively quickly. Nothing to write home about, it’s okay. The friendliest person of the entire staff was the bus boy! At least he made sure we never ran out of chips or salsa. Mediocre food, shitty service. Save your money.

I am a local and have tried this place twice out of convenience because it shares a parking lot with HEB. Probably akin to a Casa Olé… once frozen food microwaved and heat-lamped. Not a fan. Staff was not overly-friendly on either occasion either. Price was okay but you could just get a TV dinner at home and improve your circumstances.

2 stars is generous. I gave them the extra art because they have a lot of nice TVs to watch sports. Good was obvious microwaved slop — I rarely send food back but the chile rolleno was so mushy slop that I couldn’t eat it. Do yourself a favor nod go across the parking lot to HEB for a Mexican TV dinner before wasting your money here. You’ve been warned.

I have been here about 8 times. This is the place for warm, soft flour tortillas and melt in your mouth cheese enchiladas. BUT it is not the place for the best service. They are also always slow. Thee servers are nice but always apologizing for the kitchen and the business. So set aside 1:45 of your time. But it is yummy.

This review is based upon three past visits to Casa Garcia’s. The first visit was made while my vehicle was getting detailed at the nearby Wash Tub. I came here and had a few micheladas. In my opinion, the micheladas here are the best in town. I love micheladas and when I first moved to New Braunfels I was a bit disappointed in the other micheladas around town. The mix they use here is perfect and has the right amount of spiciness. The chips they use are definitely not fresh, but they are pretty tasty and the salsa is good as well. My second visit here, I ordered the beef enchiladas. I guess being from California when you order beef enchiladas your always expecting carne asada, fajita meat or some sort of actually beef chunks when you order beef. I should’ve paid more attention because I received ground beef!?! I was always under the impression ground beef was only used in Mexican food served at Taco Bell or Del Taco. I definitely won’t make that mistake again. Minus the ground beef the enchiladas were mediocre at best, portions are okay as well. My third visit, I came for breakfast. We ordered a variety of breakfast tacos and a large bowl of Menudo. The Menudo was too much, I think I would’ve been satisfied with a small bowl. It was ok, it had a lot of hominy in it and was too potent in regards to flavoring, could’ve been watered down a bit. I had to use way too many limes to make it edible. The breakfast tacos were delicious though, the tortillas was perfectly cooked and the meats weren’t too greasy like you find at nearby Mexican restaurants. Overall, I have to say that Casa Garcia’s is a solid place to eat for the money you pay. It isn’t the greatest but solid yes! You’ll come here sometimes and you’ll see the place crowded with people but you’ll leave wondering why there were so many people. Everyone has a different opinion when it comes to food, but then again I’m sure a lot of these people haven’t been spoiled with Mexican food from Califonria!

We went to a couple of our«go to» places for dinner Friday but would have been @ least an hour wait @ each. My wife suggested we try that new place on 46. Great idea because nobody knows its open yet. We got there and it looked like other people had the same idea. We stuck it out to give them a chance. A waiter came immediately to check on us. Then the chips & salsa came. We placed our order for an appetizer of queso. That showed up quickly and came with both chips & warm tortillas. We all ordered some kind of combo plate. Mine came with 2 beef enchiladas, crispy beef taco, small chip bowl filled with queso, rice & beans. Let me just say that I enjoyed every bite. The food was really good, but it is a little different than San Antonio Tex Mex. It reminded me of the Tex Mex I used to get in Dallas. We have added this place to our Tex Mex rotation. I suggest you give them a chance. It’s in the HEB shopping center on the west side of town on 46 West.
