Description

Specialties

Red Lentil is unique to New Haven and the surrounding area. We provide a warm atmosphere in which to enjoy creative and globally inspired vegetarian and vegan foods. Our aim is to please every customer that walks through our door. Our menu items are of the finest quality and are treated as such as they are prepared with sensitivity and care. Every three to four months, our menu will be updated to reflect the season; however the ‘favorites’ will remain the same. Daily specials are offered at lunch, dinner, and brunch. They are built around produce that is currently in season in New England, and they help to keep things new, and allow the chefs to exercise their creative whims.

We strive to meet the needs of special diets, offering gluten-free, raw, and macrobiotic selections. We take great care to avoid any traces of gluten in our gluten-free dishes as we recognize the severity of celiac disease. We are committed to having special equipment for these offerings.

Meet the Business Owner

Pankaj P.

Business Owner

«I grew up a vegetarian, born and raised in India and I went to culinary school and travelled the world as an employee of the Carnival Cruise Line. In that time I travelled to forty different countries, and learned as much as I could about each countries cuisine. I then had the opportunity to train at the world renowned Cordon Bleu School in Paris before finally coming to the US in 1998.»

Pradhan is a go-getter, charismatic and driven, and always looking for new ideas. His background and culinary education can be seen in the Red Lentil Restaurants, from the décor to the hospitality you receive from his staff and the fact that, even now, as the owner of two successful restaurants, he still rolls up his sleeves and cooks in his kitchens.
