I agree with Richard J. I can only assume the bad reviews are just internet trolls with anger issues. I have been using NJL for 7 years and so has my brother on all our cars. I’ve never experienced anything other than complete professionalism and a vast knowledge of any auto we’ve brought to them. Ayal and Paul know their stuff. They even turned my business away at times when they felt it was in my best interest to go to my Chevy or Honda dealer. While this may seem like an inconvenience, I ended up saving a lot of money since the issues I had were still covered under my manufacturer warranty. I’m sure other mechanics would just do the work and take my money, possibly voiding any warranties. They’re also very conscientious and always call me before they start any work to make sure I’m OK with it. Also, and this is important, they finish the job in one day. I can’t tell you how many times other places take 2 – 4 days «waiting for parts» and I’m constantly asking for rides or borrowing cars. I have recommended them to anyone in the area and will continue to do so.

I’ve been coming to NJL for over 8 years. My first experience with them there great best ever honest and straight forward, I recommend that place.

I was introduced to NJL many years ago, when dealer told me I needed a $ 850 repair. Eyal, the owner, told me he could straighten damaged part out for 45. Since then i have had all my cars serviced there.
I can’t even count all the times I have brought cars there expecting to have major jobs done, but told that there was nothing much to be done. I have recommended NJL to several other people who had the same experience. My brother-​in-​law brought car in for a brake job, and was told he didn’t need one for a year.
Eyal and Paul are the best! They are the most honest mechanics I have ever met.

I’ve been going to NJL for many years with multiple vehicles. My brother’s friend turned me on to this place when I asked if he knew of an honest mechanic who could fix my car. Since then I have recommended NJL to all my friends who need help servicing their cars.
Recently I brought my car in for an oil change, and they told me I didn’t need one — that I had my oil changed a few months earlier and a new oil change wasn’t necessary.
I can’t recommend these guys enough. They are fair, honest, and will take care of pretty much all of your automotive needs.

Do you know the Raha Man who works in New Hyde Park? Unfortunately, I do. I had used Nut Just Lube last year for an oil change and for the New York inspection for my car without any issues. The mechanics tend to be pleasant and hard-​working. However, I should have heeded all the warnings posted here. If you Google «poor customer service,» it should list Paul Rahaman, manager of this service station. While he proudly displays his attendance certificate for an Audi/​VW workshop, he would greatly benefit from an intensive seminar on how to speak politely with customers in the 21^st century. This man flings around the word «sh*t» like the monkeys in Madagascar. I did not need or want a «synthetic» oil change, and when I entered, he barked arrogantly like a recently-​neutered poodle, «Check the oil cap!» My car, as I had advised, did not require one. You don’t speak with customers in this rude manner if you want to stay in business. He later tried to sell a new air filter (completely unnecessary), charged $ 3.00 more than I had been quoted, and did not vacuum the interior of the car, as promised. He was also unaware of the coupon on his company’s website for a $ 5.00 discount on an oil change. This oil change experience took 50 minutes. There are many service stations in which to receive an oil change, and I will find a better one next time.

The owner threatened a lawsuit over my negative review. I removed the comments, but clearly this is not a place you want to deal with. There’s so many mechanics in this area. just go somewhere else.

I was looking at Jeep’s on eBay from a seller in the area. Even though he said the car was «perfect,» in mint condition, like new and all those falsehoods, he referred me to NJL if I wanted an inspection. I checked them out and they seemed legit. The first Jeep, they took it apart & did a bunch of work to it. This angered the seller b/​c he had to pay for it. Something must have happened b/​c then I asked them to inspect another one, which I ended up buying after they told me it needed nothing. I then took delivery of the Jeep — it’s a train wreck. The seller NJL are in bed together. This car has so much stuff wrong w/​it that they didn’t disclose that it’s just plain fraud. I can’t believe it only has 15K miles w/​all the wear & tear on it that they didn’t disclose. Where do I begin. Warped wood grain (that’s expensive if not impossible to fix), myriad door dings, hokey paint job that got onto the wood panels, broken door locks, door linkages, blown interior lighting, lack of engine power (who knows what that’ll cost), engine fluid leak, inadequate battery, cracked windshield, lack of rear wiper blade, missing rear door logo, broken door gaskets, etc. I mean this is just fraud. Don’t trust either of these fraudsters.
UPDATE — I found the original owner who sold it to seller. He rolled back the odometer. It had 150K+ miles on it. He’s a well-​known fraudster. I contacted myriad ebay members who also were defrauded by him. Obviously, by signing off on the vehicle w/​the mileage advertised, NJL clearly gets a kickback from the seller. I can’t imagine these guys aren’t shut down soon.
2ND UPDATE — WOW, GET A LOAD OF ALL THE PHONY REVIEWS THESE GUYS ARE POSTING TO TRY TO COUNTER MY TRUTHS. 3 REVIEWS FROM 3÷18÷15 ALL 5 STAR, ALL CITING «BROTHER» REFERRALS. WHAT A SCAM. I’M SURE THEIR BUSINESS HAS PLUMMETED AS THE INTELLIGENT Unilocal COMMUNITY SEES THROUGH THE PHONINESS & BELIEVES THE REAL REVIEWERS. IN TIME, THEIR SCAM WILL COME TO AN END.

Wow, i finally found an honest mechanic without driving all over Long Island. These guys have a small shop, but the few times i have been there, they treated me like family. I leave the car off, and when i come to pick it up later, everything is done, and the car works great. No upselling me with a bunch of crap i know i dont need. They are honest and polite, and they actually talk to you, and explain what your issue is. Some places just want to take your money and push the car out. they take the time so you really understand what they did, and why it went wrong to begin with. i adjusted my driving habits, and now i have no issue with my car. Their inspection and oil change was fast and a better deal than that big place across town. (you know who i mean). i would recommend them now to my family and friends. It is hard to find an honest shop these days, and i hope they are around a long time, because i am tired of being ripped off by the big chain garages and tire centers. i just hope they dont get too crowded by people reading this. i still like fast service. There is even a great diner across the street for while you are waiting. Awesome!

so i have used this establishment for both oil changes and minor mechanical work on my cars (my 2 vehicles and my wifes) for a number of years. i always thought the owners Al and Paul were on the up and up until i started to prep my car for a drive/​move from NY to CO.
i had Nut Just Lube change out my passenger front axle about 4 weeks prior to my departure. i thought all was good until my brother in law (also a mechanic) did a final inspection on my car for my long distance drive. at this point he notifies me that i have the INCORRECT axle installed on my car!!! he told me that it has held up thus far and should prob hold for my drive across the country.
so i drive 2200 miles from NY to CO. When i arrive i immediately bring my car in to a recommended mechanic for an oil change. this mechanic ALSO informs me that the passenger front axle is INCORRECT and that it WILL FAIL soon. so of course i heed his warning and get it changed out. at this point i call AL at Nut Just Lube to tell him the situation: 2 mechanics that are 2000 miles apart who have never done business together are telling me that my axle is INCORRECT!
i have been speaking to him for about 3 weeks now with NO PROGRESS. he wants me to ship back the broken axle so he can return it under warranty. still with no guarantees.
after spending THOUSANDS of $$$ at this establishments and having 2 independent mechanics verify their MISTAKE i can NO LONGER RECOMMEND Nut Just Lube!!!

Nice staff… owner is very polite and infomative.
I only go here for oil changes and inspections. They do a good job and answer all of my questions.
its convenient for me b/​c i can go to the gym across the street while my car gets serviced. theres also a small strip mall next door with a DD and pizza shop.

I went here today to get my vehicle inspected, which all took about an hour. This place can get busy with vehicle inspections, as this was my fourth attempt since this weekend. Saturday, I attempted to go around 1:00 pm, but the owner told me he had too many cars waiting to be inspected and was no longer taking anymore. I tried again on Monday at 8am, and there were 4 cars in front of me. I was informed each car would take about 45 minutes, so I decided to leave. Tuesday, I went at 7:45am and there were 3 cars in front, again, I decided to leave because I didn’t want to be late to work. On Wednesday, I went around 7:45am again, and I got lucky as there was only one car in front of me. The mechanic was done and I was out by 8:50 am, only costing me $ 37.00. Service was good here, the owner and mechanics were polite and all appeared to be pretty well-​mannered with good intentions, unlike some other mechanics I have encountered. My car was returned just as I had gave it to them.
