Lava’s not your typical neighborhood supermarket. They do indeed have the typical essentials you would find in such a store, ranging from TP to liquor and tobacco. By the way, they have a very large selection of liquor of all kind. Where the store shines is IMO the people who own the place and the food they serve in the deli section which includes Boars Head sandwiches and a large selection of home cooked meals(ranging from your typical seafood, red beans and rice, chicken to typical oriental meals). Ask for their home made kebabs, which is meat on a skewer, served with roasted tomatoes and you won’t regret it. So good, tender and balanced in flavor, yet typically oriental. Although the store has just opened, and it could use some upgrades here and there inside, it’s obvious the owners have set their goal on offering premium service and food. You will go there for emergency grocery supply and come back for their deli food and all around friendliness.
