Great food! We tried the Drunken Mermaid and my parents had the tacos. Everything was delicious! Outdoor seating is comfortable and clean. Attentive service, staff readily shared their favorite dish and refilled drinks. Would definitely try again!

Delicious. Great service. Unique menu. The Outrigger was recommended by the people who own the condo we rent for the winter months. Our first visit this week. Will not be our last. We dined inside but will ask for outdoor seating on our next visit. One of NSB’s best.

Food was good. I had pompano which one doesn’t see too often. Very good. BUT… Ticket for parking across the street in the boat trailer lot was not. There is a sign but it’s small and easily missed. I entered from the second entrance, the sign is also small and turned to face exiting traffic. If they want to keep customers out of the lot, they need a bigger sign or maybe three. I called the Outriggers manager & he told me that he gets about three calls a week from people who received parking citations. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Probably won’t be returning to NSB.

When you see yachts docked nearby, the ½ price drinks and appetizers from 4 – 6 pm really put the happy in happy hour. My first ever Ciprihanna(mojito’s Brazillian cousin) went down quite nicely. Our waiter Evan made sure to come by to get our second round on order while prices were right. Guacamole with green peas was not as spicey as I’m used to, but still tasty and Evan brought extra chips for all to share. Staff were uniformly friendly. Nice to walk along the dock checking out the big boats as the sun set. There was a 64 foot boat docked at the end. Quite the memorable cocktail hour.

I wanted to love this place with its marina views, shaded outdoor patio, and weekday happy hour specials, but everything we tried was disappointing… whether it was the food(calamari, colossal lump crabcake, and nachos) or the free-yet-spotty wi-fi.

Great restaurant, the view from the deck of the river during sunset is probably the best time to sit and enjoy a glass of wine! The chicken macaroni and cheese is probably one of my favorite dishes so far. Service was decent, servers seemed a little confused when we were being seated but our food came out promptly and was quite good.

I tried coming here for a nice birthday brunch with my sister. I can’t tell you how the food was cause we didn’t get to try any! We sat outside where there was a beautiful view but sat for a good 15 mins with our menus to the side showing we’ve been ready to order. Finally the waitress came, looked at us, and went to the couple who sat down after us that weren’t even ready to order, next she went to the table after them! We were so hungry we just decided to get up and leave. There should be way better communication between waitress and hostess.

Sunday afternoon lunch, service was decent but a young man served us spilling out food all over his hands, ever hear about a tray ? Ordered fried grouper and the breading tasted like it was fried in really old oil, smelled if burnt oil, my wife’s dinner was ice cold pasta but hot fish on top? Sent it back and received a freshly microwaved plate? Really! At $ 24 a plate you can do better Tge kicker was the manager didn’t acknowledge us and actually shot né a dirty look. Probably come back for a appetizer but not for dinner again

After a fun morning of paddleboarding with girlfriends, one of them recommended this place for lunch. It surely did not disappoint. First of all, they offer complimentary valet parking(don’t forget to tip) but I’m a little protective of my car so I opted to self park a little further away and walk since the connecting self parking lot was full Just a heads up. This place is a much nicer restaurant than I was expecting but by no means was it stuffy and uppity. Since they’re so close to the beach, shorts and flip flops seem to be normal attire. We were a group of 10 and they gave us huge picnic table seating outside in a breezeway that was covered from the sun. It actually worked out perfectly. Their menu is an array of lots of fun cocktails and fresh seafood items. Some of the more popular house made cocktails are pricey because you get to take home the souvenir glass that it is served in. I had the SunSet Sangria which was served in a cool glass with a Tiki design… it cost me a pretty penny but a nice souvenir to commemorate the fun day! I also tried the fish dip that a few of my friends ordered and it was super yummy especially if you add a jalapeño slice on top! I ordered a grilled fish sandwich with fries. They dress it with lettuce and tomato and serve a mayo type sauce on the side if you want to add. It was good but not as fun tasting as some of my friends meals… The Fish and Grit cake sounds really interesting so that may be my pick for next time! Service was pretty attentive for a large party which is just another reason I would surely come back again. Also, this place is great for group pictures with the water in the background. This place really makes me think I’m in a tropical paradise!

I really enjoy Outriggers! I have made two visits here and both left me quite happy. I live in Orlando so making the trip up to NSB doesn’t happen as often as I would like. On both occasions I have visited I have tried a variety of different foods and drinks. Thus far I have really enjoyed everything that I put in my mouth. The fish tacos are so awesome, the fried shrimp are huge, the fish sandwich is super tasty and the brunch items… Amazing. My boyfriend ordered the Elvis waffles and my Mom ordered the grit cake with a side of cheese sauce– both were stupid good. The drink menu is just as delightful. Go there, order away, and wash it all down with a Zombie. These three steps will make for a great day or night!

«The table we are at is a little loud with the band on the deck. Can we move to one of these empty tables over here so we can hear our conversations?» I politely asked the nice hostess. «I think so let me ask my manager» said the nice hostess. «Nope, my manager said he can’t since we are too busy» said the nice hostess. «I’m not busy I can take care of you guys» said a nice waitress. Kevin, the clueless manager, comes over to explain that they are too busy and he had reservations and can’t move us to the three very empty tables. He didn’t understand our very simple math equation of one four top switching to another empty four top. Our conversation was spinning in circles with Kevin so we cancelled our order and went to a different restaurant.

Hidden gem. Free valet parking. Food was fresh and tasty. I had the Island Fish Sandwich and ate every bite. Also had the Black Bean and Corn salsa, which was delicious.

So I’ve been tracking this place on Instagram for a while and I drool over their food pics all the time. Tonight did not disappoint! I was in the area after the beach and ready to chill out. This place is perfect for relaxing. They have complimentary valet, but I parked across the way near the boat ramp. It looked like there was a mini valet line forming. There is indoor seating that is very pleasant, or outdoor bar and deck seating right on the intracoastal water way. No matter where you sit, the place is nice. Tried the house bloody mary garnished with candied bacon, a shrimp, lime wedge, and two green olives. The glass was rimmed with a salty-sweet red pepper topping that was just phenomenal, spicy and sweet. The Bloody Mary comes with a sidecar of Sam Adams in little four ounce cup, it’s just nice to sip along with the Bloody Mary… it just works! For dinner I had the drunken mermaid fish sandwich(best name ever!) with marinaded mahi mahi, melted provolone, remoulade sauce, and topped with cole slaw. Loved it and the dining atmosphere here was nice-dim lights, funky music and just this über chill vibe in the air. This is going to be my new summer hangout! Can’t wait to go back for more bloody marys and try the fish dip here too. Hello summertime!

Outriggers Tiki Bar and Grill opened in December of 2013 as part the newly developed New Smyrna Marina. In addition to the restaurant, the marina offers boat slips, a fishing store and there are currently a handful of «Key West» style houses being built. We were invited to visit Outriggers and we were excited to see what they had to offer. Although it was a beautiful sunny day, we opted to eat inside, though there are plenty of outdoor tables right on the water where you can watch the boats come and go. It was 2pm in the afternoon and the patio was packed. We were immediately greeted by the Director of Operations Ian. A very personable and friendly guy, he talked us through the menu, not only pointing out the most popular items but also his personal favorites. He ordered us two of the most crowd-pleasing appetizers– the Sprouts with Candied Bacon and the Fried Green Tomato Stack. First, the sprouts. Yes, we don’t eat pork very often, if ever, but I was excited to try the candied bacon with the brussel sprouts. The bacon was just a sidenote however. The flavor of the sprouts spoke for themselves. They were beefy, hearty and very lightly fried. Maybe it’s because I love brussel sprouts, maybe it’s because restaurants rarely serve them, whatever it was I absolutely loved them. The balsamic drizzle added a little sweetness to the sprouts. Even if you think you don’t like brussel sprouts, you will love these. Then we tried the Fried Green Tomato Stack. Fried green tomatoes are one of our most favorite appetizers– we tend to order them everywhere we go and we have had some great ones and we’ve had some not-so-great ones. However, this version at Outriggers was above the great ones– by far the best I have ever had. The tomatoes themselves were plump and juicy. They were lightly fried in a crispy batter which only added to its Heavenly factor. The tomatoes were stacked on top of each other, with a dollop of a goat and cream cheese mixture between each. They were placed on a plate drizzled with a balsamic glaze and a spicy remoulade sauce. My mouth is watering just writing about them. Ian also ordered us the Tiki Tacos which are sold a la carte. He brought us a pulled pork version as well as blackened fish. The pork was piled high on a soft flour tortilla with cheese and that spicy remoulade sauce that came with the tomatoes. And again, even though we don’t eat pork, Ian said this was one of his most popular items on the menu so we had to give it a try. While I don’t miss bacon all that much, I do miss pulled pork. This pork was so tender it melted in my mouth. The blackened fish soft taco was quite tasty as well. A mild whitefish was lightly blackened and placed a top of bed of fresh guacamole and coleslaw. It was then drizzled with a ranch dressing. For only $ 3 a pop, you cold easily make an inexpensive but filling meal out of the tacos. However, we still had more food to come. Chad had the Drunken Mermaid Fish Sandwich, an item Ian says he sells 50 – 100 of them a day. A white fish filet, lightly blackened, served on a bun with provolone cheese, coleslaw and a spicy remoulade sauce. Also topped with crisp lettuce and juicy tomatoes, we could easily understand why this is one of the more popular menu choices. I had a heard time deciding between the Fish N Waffle and the Fish N Grit Cakes. Fried Chicken and Waffles have become all the rage lately and I loved the idea of replacing the chicken for fried fish. However, the waffle was actually a bacon waffle, and while that sounds amazing, I opted for the Fish N Grit Cakes. The fish I had was called Golden Tile, which I had never even heard of let alone tried before. Ian explained it is a rather rare fish with a very short season, unlike a Mahi Mahi which can be fished almost year round. It was, however, similar to a Mahi Mahi fish in that it was light and flaky. The Golden Tile was grilled and topped with a cheese sauce. Interesting, I have never really thought of topping fish with cheese but this worked, very well I might add. The grits were delicious as well. These weren’t your diner style grits, these were fried up into a golden cake and topped with cheese in addition to the cheese sauce. Absolutely wonderful. The grits cake could have stood on its own without all the cheese, as the Golden Tile might have benefitted without the sauce as well. It was a tasty dish, though not my favorite of everything we tried. We sampled some of the sides as well, my favorite being the broccoli salad. They also offer tater tots, rice pilaf, coleslaw and asparagus in addition to a few other sides. And of course, we couldn’t leave without dessert. A few of the dessert choices included Key Lime Pie and Chocolate Fondue. The cheesecake was infused with thyme and topped with toasted walnuts. Definitely worth saving room for.
