33rd St And 7th Ave SW Halal Cart

Girlfriend was waiting for a bus to DC across the street and she wanted falafel. So, I run to the first halal stand I see, order a falafel sandwich, and hand the guy $ 10. He gives me back $ 2. «Sorry, I think you made a mistake, how much is this?» «Eight dollars.» «Eight dollars?! For a falafel sandwich?!» «Yes.»
Now, I’ve been to probably 20 different halal carts and they all sell falafel sandwiches for $ 4. I’d be OK with $ 4.50 for the Penn Station area, but double what everybody else charges? I only had a few seconds before my GF’s bus left, so I didn’t have to to tell him to f*** himself and get my money back. Also, she had a 5 hour bus ride ahead and no food. So, I took the sandwich back to the bus stop and guess what? No bus! She got on and they pulled away when I wasn’t looking.
So, of course I had the pleasure of eating this $ 8 falafel sandwich. It was smaller than most, bland, and the white sauce tasted like mayo (I’ve never had bad white sauce…). Oh, and did I mention it was $ 8? I’m in the area often and I’ll be sure to go to this stand frequently to show them my falafel sandwich from across the street (33^rd and 7^th NW Halal is MUCH better).
