6BC Botanical Garden

Since I have been to nyc many times, I wanted to do something new, not the usual, so I found this place on Unilocal and I was very excited for this place but it was closed by the time I got there, my bad because I didn’t check they close at 4 pm on saturday.
Anyway, place looked good from the outside, too small for me. I was expecting a bigger garden.
I think is nice if you’re in the area, or you’re local.
Otherwise it is not worth to go.

places to sit: on the grass: a couple of chairs n tables. under the wood trestle. by the tiny house in the garden.
fresh-​air serenity for hanging with friends; lunching or coffee-​ing; book reading. or napping… so little to do here: minimize not maximize.
there’s a a small babble of water flow as well as a tiny pond/​fountain.
it’s a small community garden. simple in presentation. clean. and welcoming.
not much much to add other than if you’re trying to «reset» from our over «powered» lives– this garden is your power down button. take advantage of it before the winter chill freezes you out.

The nicest, greenest, cutest, cleanest, most charming community garden in east village! In short, my favorite!
People here really take good care of the garden and it shows. So green in the middle of summer! Actually, still pretty green in the dead of winter too. Tons of green in this garden. :-)
Lots of spots to hang out and sit down. With a book, a coffee, a picnic, alone or with friends. Love that little house, the secret corners and the pond.

Stopped in for a romantic snuggle with my boy. Such a cute little spot to escape the choas.
Grabbed iced coffees from Ninth Street Espresso and relaxed for a bit.
Oh and there are turtles. :)

I always loved brooklyn botanical. Their Sakura festival is a must. The rose garden is worth wandering thru. It’s just beautiful all around. Dreamy eyes*

Beautiful hidden gem in downtown Manhattan. I walked through the clean and well maintained garden and forgot I was in ny for a minute. It was truly a calming and peaceful feeling seeing all the greenery and gorgeous flowers. I would definitely return when im in the area again.

I’m forever uncertain whether or not I want to have offspring of my own (guessing the world would be a better place without a gaggle of miniature Ruggys running rampant), but that doesn’t mean I don’t get joy out of being around children as much as possible. In San Francisco, seeing a child is about as rare as a blue moon, but one of the most refreshing changes of scenery coming to NYC is the large amount of youth canvassing the streets of Gotham. In particular, this here Alphabet City public botanical garden.
Smack dab in the middle of all sorts of bodegas, bars, and eateries lies this natural oasis and public garden ripe for enjoying a day in the sun with a good book and great company. Whether you’re lending your green thumb to live sustainably from the earth’s bounty or you’re bringing your overgrown grommets of BFFs for an afternoon of wagon riding atop the communal Radio Flyer, there’s a little rejuvenation for all.
With the season about to make a change for the swampier, I can only imagine these shadowy confines will make for the perfect respite from the dog days of summer. Woof!

Beautiful, peaceful, well kept secret. Very relaxing place to read a book or walk through. I visited here over the weekend and was surprised at the awesome garden. Plenty of spots to sit and chill.

Amazing romantic hidden spot in the middle of Alphabet City.
I passed by yesterday with my gf and we both were pleasurably surprised by the care the community takes to make this place a very special treasure.
I can’t wait to see how it looks like next Spring!

I would strongly recommend you enjoy your Alphabet City-​sourced sweets here. Pay no mind to the hours posted at the entrance of the garden, as folks seem to be inside throughout the daytime and the doors are swung so wide open it’d be a crime to pass it by.

On a sunny and warm Monday afternoon, my fiancé and I treked out to the East Village on a mission to visit as many green spaces as possible. Unfortunately, we were not aware that many of the little pieces of heaven are only open on weekends.
Fortunately for us, this little paradise was open. Our mouthes dropped open at the lovely sight before us. There are beautiful flowers all around us, and trees everywhere. There are hidden seating areas dispersed throughout the garden for a cozy atmosphere. The best part of the garden is of course the house. You can sit underneath it, or walk up the stairs and find space to sit in it and curl up with provided books. If you’re lucky, you can grab a spot on the tiny balcony overlooking the garden.
This garden is ideal for impromptu photo shoots. But be conscious not to disturb the people that come here to relax. ;)

As parks go, this garden is THE BOMB. Plenty of seating areas. Feels much larger than it is. Amazing second story patio area.
Just wish they allowed alcohol.

Arguably my favorite garden in Alphabet City, if not all of Manhattan. Of course it’s not as large as any park or botanical garden, but for the fact that it is completely run by volunteers and donations, it is amazing in terms of the amount of love and care that has been put into crafting this little garden. It’s really peaceful to just sit around and study in and the fountains/​little enclosed spaces are amazing. Whenever I go on a garden tour, I always show people this place last and they always love it. Basically, one of my favorite places to spend time in when the weather is warm. (In addition to Creative Little Garden just down the street).

I was just walking around and accidentally found this little garden, pretty cute, when you are inside you just forget you are in the city, very peaceful!

My most favorite place in NYC and it is what keeps in in my crappy 450 sq ft apt. We are very blessed to have this space.

This garden is truly one of my favorites in Alphabet City — and I do not hesitate to say, perhaps in the whole city. The plants are really awesome and widespread; the garden is somewhat of an organized chaos, with lots of private nooks and interesting plants and flowers to look at. There are even multiple places to sit! It’s truly quite lovely.

This park is a little piece of heaven in the east village. I instantly went on their website to volunteer (still awaiting response) because I love this sanctuary. It is the most well kept garden I have stumbled upon in our fair neighborhood. Perfect place to bring a book and relax. A little house with a small balcony, lots of little nooks here and one day there was a man playing something really beautiful on his stand up base.
I thought I was dreaming, but nope! This place is real!

As a member, I am proud to say we do put LOTS of work into our little garden, and I’ll just cry if my view of it through my bedroom window ever gets disturbed.
I like to think of this is the NYAC of the east village gardens. We have the little tower for the view and while the other gardens are hippie-​dippy, this one looks more like a classic english garden.

One of the most amazingly beautiful and well-​kept community gardens that I’ve seen! You can really tell that the members of this garden are invested and prideful of their little plot of land. There are amazing varieties of plants here, a koi pond, a reading nook, picnic table, fountain, and more!
I love strolling through this little garden with a latte from Ninth Street Espresso. Stella, my dog, loves watching the koi fish too!
