History

Established in 2005.

Part game, part theater, and part tour, Accomplice is an experience unlike any found on a stage, taking its audience on an actual journey through the city streets. It all begins with a phone call disclosing a secret meeting location. Armed with a few initial bits of information, participants are sent on a mission, aided by clues and mysterious cast members strewn throughout various locations such as streetcorners, bars, iconic landmarks and out of the way spots. Audiences in groups of 10 traverse the city streets, piecing together clues of a meticulously crafted plot and relying on their own street smarts to make it to the end.

The Accomplice sites, naturally, are kept secret — it’s all part of the fun. «Not enough information,» you say? Trust us – the fun is in the surprises.

«Ingenious And Unique — Don’t Miss!»

— Time Out New York

«Makes you look at the city with skeptical eyes, like being in the middle of the Michael Douglas movie ‘The Game.’»

— The New York Times

Accomplice: New York, the original Accomplice production, is the creation of brother-and-sister-team Tom Salamon and Betsy Salamon Sufott and began its run in April 2005. Catching fire as an inventive and captivating

experience, word of Accomplice: New York spread and shows began to sell out months in advance.

After thousands of enthusiastic audience members participated in their first unique experience, the creators returned with an all new New York City adventure, Accomplice: The Village in January 2007.

In 2009, the New York team joined forces with co-producer Neil Patrick Harris to create a brand new west coast production, Accomplice: Hollywood. Soon followed limited runs with Accomplice: London and Mystery at the Museum, a show within the halls of the American Museum of Natural History.
