This is our local. We order from here all the time. Reliable. Dependable. Consistent. Affordable. Delivers in less than twenty five minutes. I have also dined in here several times and always had a gidd experience. A good choice.

Ordered delivery from Aji sushi. Got the lobster specialty roll and substituted for brown rice — very mediocre, the rice was as hard as a rock. Miso soup was flavorless and tasted like water. Would not consider dining in. There are better choices in midtown area.

A reliable spot for sushi, my friend said and she was spot on. The service is gracious and welcoming, the décor comfortable and clean, and the sushi good. I had the spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail and spicy salmon combo, 18 pieces that left me happy with a very full belly. It was fresh and delicious and the waitress came with a mound of wasabi big enough to clear my sinuses for the year when I requested more. My entrée came with a small mixed salad with the usual tasty dressing. My friend had the golden dragon roll, almost too pretty to eat with its multi layers and the soy drizzle along with the hijiki salad. I gather it was tasty because she offered me some after she was almost done, lol. A place I would revisit for the value and taste.

Nice service. Great tempura app, very reasonable prices. Had sashimi tuna, unagi sushi and a couple of special rolls.

Aji Sushi offers the best lunch deal with ACTUAL quality. I normally order from Aji once a week to get my sushi fix. For the 2 roll lunch special, you get 2 rolls(not including the gargantuan specialty rolls), miso soup, and a garden salad with ginger dressing for $ 9.17. I always order the Spicy Snow Crab and Shrimp Tempura rolls, which are much more satiating than the wimpy California or Philadelphia rolls that other lunch deals offer. If you order for pick-up, Aji is pretty speedy, taking normally about 15 minutes to fill your order. I highly recommend Aji Sushi for anyone who either passes by, or people who work in the area!

Ordered Oyako Don through seamless. Refer to the picture I uploaded. It was NOT Oyako Don. Chicken was tasteless, eggs scattered everywhere, random vegetable ingredients with raw broccoli(why?) and celery. Celery. I have not had the pleasure of eating Oyako Don where celery was an ingredient. Oh, they also forgot the salt, or perhaps they are sending a subliminal message to get me to eat healthier. Likely not the case. The restaurant staff that I spoke to insisted that I had no idea what I’m talking about. I guess for someone who has lived in Japan, grew up in Asia, and had constant exposure to Japanese cuisine, I reeaaaaaally didn’t know what I was doing. Get off your high horse pride and admit when you guys make a mistake. We don’t judge you for it but rather appreciate it when you guys can take constructive criticism. I called you guys not to ask for a refund or another delivery order. You guys should know when the food you are serving is not what it actually is.

Ordered through office Seamless when I was working late and the estimated delivery time was 15 – 30 minutes but it took over an hour. This was very frustrating. After I had waited about 50 minutes I called the restaurant and the person I was talking to was very rude, didn’t apologize, and all they could say was that the delivery had gone out. Two stars instead of one because the sushi was decent.

I wish I found this place sooner! Loved all the rolls I tried — Third Avenue, Spicy Volcano, Nutty Eel Avocado, Peanut Avocado, & Crunchy Spicy Salmon. Steamed veggie dumplings come with a slightly spicy sauce that’s really good. Tempura ice cream is a huge serving and delicious. Can’t wait to try the other rolls I was eyeing on the menu. Service is pleasant and not overly friendly. Prices are more than fair for the area. This is a really nice date spot as it’s not too loud and has an intimate atmosphere.

This is as good as it gets. I feel at home here. The staff is fantastic. The food is equally as amazing. From appetizers to sashimi to sushi Aji is on point. This is my go to spot and I look forward to many more good times here. PS Jalapeños are spicy so if you like a good kick I completely recommend. Love them!

It’s very close to nana sushi. The taste of sashimi here is better, fresher and smoothies. I had a sashimi dinner with 28 pics of sashimi and soup. Also, I like age tofu and teriyaki tofu here.

I love Aji. I’ve been visiting for the past 6 years. It’s great sushi — nothing spectacular or fancy, but just consistently fresh fish and great service. Most of the time it’s delivery or pickup through Seamless but it’s nice to visit the restaurant too — the service is fast and their presentation is good. Highly recommended for decent, well-priced sushi in NYC.

I went to Aji Sushi for lunch instead of the normal Sushi place I go to. Aji Sushi had an A rating in their window, where my usual place had gotten a B rating on their last inspection. Not a big deal, but just enough to send me to try something else for the day. ANDIMSOGLAD I DID! I ordered a Bento Box Lunch Special. I got the Shrimp Tempura with Avocado Roll and Miso Soup and Salad and rice. Let me just begin with the shrimp tempura. Many times you can tell the shrimp is frozen. Im pretty sure this wasnt frozen. Either way the flavor of the shrimp was great. The tempura technique on the shrimp was PERFECT. Perfectly flaky, perfectly crunchy, and it didnt all fall off when i took the first bite. The Salad dressing was the typical Ginger Dressing. However, the dressing was so flavorful! Then, the rice(which isnt supposed to be something people boast about. rice is rice, right?) WELL, this rice was the most delicate, perfectly cooked rice. I ate ALLOFIT. I never eat all the rice. In fact, I ate everything in my Bento Box. Everything was that good. Seriously. Just when I thought I couldnt be any happier, when they brought the check, they also brought half an orange, PRESLICED, with a toothpick. how cute is this!!! instead of an after meal mint, they bring you a fruit!!! i love it. I WILLBEBACKTOTHISPLACE. its my new sushi lunch place. Thank you Aji Sushi, for being my best sushi lunch experience.

I often order take out from Aji and I am never disappointed. Their sushi is delicious and fresh. I normally get the seaweed salad, spicy crunchy salmon roll, and either a cucumber roll or shrimp tempura roll. You really cannot go wrong with anything off the menu! The delivery is always super fast, granted I live really close but even pick up is never more than 15 minutes.

Third or fourth time simply not showing up with delivery. No apology, no offer to make it right. I only ordered because they come up first on grubhub anyway. No more. I’m pissed.

Could be better. Aji Sushi has good lunch specials. My coworkers and I felt that the service was most likely close to: Nonexistent. The most bizarre thing during the entire course of the visit was my sushi. I can guess why, but all of my pieces of sushi had a slit right through one side which made it instantly fall apart when I tried to pick it up. I ordered the sushi roll combination. Got the Yellowtail Scallion & Spicy Snow Crab. The lunch special also came with Miso soup and salad. I liked my Spicy Snow Crab order and I felt that the Yellowtail Scallion roll really wasn’t as fresh as it could have been. The food was still satisfactory though. My party and I did not get complementary dessert like what a few others have been saying on Unilocal, which may be why they rated it more stars, but we got some orange at the end.

Aji may not be a 5 star restaurant but it certainly deserves more than 3.5 stars. I would legitimately give it 4.5 stars if I could but I can’t so I’m giving it 5. I’m not a sushi fanatic like some but Aji is, without a doubt, my favorite sushi restaurant in the city that’s not in the Koi/Nobu super expensive category. My girlfriend on the other hand IS a sushi fanatic and she also thinks that Aji is the best sushi we’ve had in the affordable category. Every trip here involves the same 4 items with a new roll or two mixed in. For me, the menu highlights are: Tuna Avocado Salad Tuna Tartare Balls Spicy Triplets Roll Kiss of Fire Roll The ambiance leaves something to be desired but other than that, this place is a home run. The fish is very fresh, the service is efficient and the prices are great. Come here for a first date or your hundreth date, with your parents, your kids or alone. Aji is a score and I will continue to «trek» up from the East Village for their top grade sushi.
