Amir Ahmadi, DDS

Dr. Ahmadi is the best periodontist I have ever been to. He is very thorough, knowledgeable and caring. I have no apprehension before an appointment with him. I actually close my eyes and drift off a little as he works. He is an excellent periodontist and you owe it to your gums and teeth to see him if you have any periodontal issues.

I went to a consultation today with Dr. Ahmadi, and I could not have been more pleased, I had no wait time, the offices were spotless and modern, Dr. Amadhi himself could not have been more knowledgable,
helpful and kind, I have found my new dental practice.

Dr. Ahmadi was an expert in every way regarding the installation of my dental implant, and it is so clear that he takes his job extremely seriously and puts our comfort as patients at the fore of his efforts. It has been over a year now, and my implant still feels like my tooth did. Steady hand, confident through the whole process, this was the first time anyone has been in my mouth without me questioning if they knew what they were doing, and he was drilling a hole in my skull halfway to my eyeball!
From discussing the procedure and costs (and helping me understand my insurance policy), to anesthesia, to carrying out the procedure, to giving me his personal cell so i could ask if anything was bothering me, to chatting about philosophy and the golf channel, Doctor Ahmadi is really one of a kind, and you’ll be doing yourself a disservice to not pick him. If I had to get another one I’d be back there and wouldn’t even consider a different option. And I am usually really hard on doctors!
Oh and the horror stories — being butchered, infection, problems with headaches… None of that! Well I mean, except some subtle butchering. But that’s what we signed up for!

My wife used their facility to get a dental procedure. It is much cleaner and spacious then other dental facilities we have been to. She is afraid of needles and the doctor was very friendly and accommodating. While getting the treatment they allow you to watch netflix on a big screen to help you feel comfortable. The doctor does the treatment very carefully and does a great job. Overall good experience.

Without getting into all the gory details of my tooth issues that first started in September 2013, trust me when I tell you, it was NOT a good time to be me. I woke up with a pretty serious issue one morning. I hadn’t yet found a dental practice I was comfortable with (after some nightmarish experiences in 2012 — I’ll try to post a review for that practice soon), but was able to secure an emergency appt at a highly recommended practice. I went there, had a fantastic experience, but they were out-​of-​network for me, so I decided to search a bit more to find a practice I could rely on longterm. I found and called Citi Dental Group for Dr. Ahmadi. I secured his earliest opening. And then my life changed in a small but resounding way.
Dr. Ahmadi gave me a comprehensive consult, which more or less resulted in the same findings and treatment plan as the first practice. He immediately sensed my angst, fear, total emotional disarray and did everything he could to calm my nerves and reassure me. He’s totally an open book when it comes to his patient treatment plans. I honestly can say that he will do what it takes to keep you happy, comfortable, and healthy, not as a ploy to benefit his business, but genuinely to provide the best possible care for his patients. Over the course of the 5 whole months it took to resolve the issue I originally went in for (it was quite a labor intensive process, and the treatment plan changed a few times as need arose), I never once was dissatisfied with the level of care he provided. I’ve asked at LEAST a thousand questions (no exaggeration here) since I first met Dr. Ahmadi, and he’s answered every single one of them and more. I’ve emailed him after hours. His responses have always been comprehensive. The treatment plan was always open for discussion and re-​evaluation, a flexibility that is lacking in other practice, I think.
Dr. Ahmadi is detail oriented, sensitive to his patients’ needs, and strives to provide excellent care.
In regards to the whole dental practice, I like the group a lot! Reception is always friendly and helpful both on the phone and in person. The office is always buzzing — it’s HUGE, I’d be a bit worried if it wasn’t buzzing — but you never feel neglected or overlooked. Sometimes they’re right on time, sometimes the wait is 5 or 10 minutes long, which is a non-​issue for me because I’ve never once felt rushed during my own appointment. I’ve also received painless and effective care from Dr. Kristie Mukherjee who was super gentle and overall fantastic! And, as the on-​call Doctor one evening, Dr. Loflin helped me secure an antibiotic prescription after-​hours — he was kind enough to spend at LEAST 45 minutes sorting out my prescription issue with the incredibly incompetent staff at my local CVS to ensure that I would have my meds right away, something I’m convinced any other practice would’ve deferred to the next day’s agenda as a non-​emergency matter.
I’m very happy to be in the care of Dr. Ahmadi and Citi Dental, and I think you can be too. I know that entrusting your medical and dental needs in the hands of a total stranger can be daunting, so please don’t hesitate to send me a private message if you need more encouragement!

BEST DENTIST/​dental pracitce EVER. End of story… I HATE — I mean REALLY HATE going to the doctor/​dentist, so when I had some gum issues, I frantically searched and lucked into the best periodontist ever. Patient, knowledgeable, and very good vibes… could not endorse citidental higher… They were beyond accommodating.

Dr. Ahmadi is great. He was patient with me as I got my tooth pulled yesterday and has a wonderful chair-​side manner. He’s awesome, and explains what he’s doing as he’s doing it, which made getting my teeth scaled a pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

After a long 2 ½ years of avoiding a Dentist, I found (thanks to the help of my fellow UnilocalER’S) the office of CitiDentalGroup. Let me start by saying to the staff and doctor who helped me with my teeth THANKS SO MUCH! Forgot the names but not how much I was so well taken care of, I am a nervous freak when it comes to even thinking about dental visits and exams, seriously I am. The receptionist was really nice and remembered that I asked to be given a shot when I get my cleaning, which for me was the first time ever I’ve been numbed to have a cleaning on my teeth, the x-​ray girl was super nice and answered all my questions, and played some cool toons for me on Pandora, even asked me if I wanted to watch Netflix, super cool! The Dr. came over and talked me thru everything before we got started and was really genuine and made me feel comfortable, and the technician who did the complete cleaning and scaling of my mouth was awesome! She made sure I was completely numb, attentive to anything I needed and joked around with me to make sure I was ok. Plus they let my wife sit in and hold my hand thru the whole thing!!! I just wanted to say thanks again, I’ll get better with the names I promise and will definitely be coming back and making sure that I spread the word about CitiDentalGroup.

There is nothing to say that hasn’t been mentioned already. He is a fantastic choice for dental care!

Dr. Ahmadi is the MAN. (I can already hear him laughing at me for writing that in my review — Hi Dr. Ahmadi!)
I switched dentists two years ago when I came to the sad conclusion that there was no way I can drag myself from Williamsburg to the UES for an 8:30AM appointment. It’s just not going to happen.
I checked Unilocal to help me find a new dentist. Along came CitiDental Group. Everyone on staff is kind, courteous and will play your favorite Pandora station while you get your treatment. Or TV episode. I dare you to watch 30 Rock while getting your teeth cleaned.
Anyhoo, Dr. Ahmadi has been a trusted resource for me since I became a patient. I’m actually in the process of getting my crown replaced with him. It hasn’t been a walk in the park, but his congenial manner makes it all the more bearable. Definitely recommend him!

Dr. Ahmadi restored my faith in dentists and dentistry.
A slight less than an hour ago, I received a surprise check-​up call from Dr. Ahmadi, asking me how I was feeling after an emergency molar extraction I had done today. This review is the least I can do to repay Dr. Ahmadi going above and beyond like no other medical professional I have ever encountered in my life. This man truly cares about his field, he truly cares about his patients.
Dr. Ahmadi is well spoken, he’s got a great sense of humor, he is calm, patient, fully confident in his knowledge and best of all, he is honest. After being taken for a ride and shuffled around by pathetic unskilled dentists where I have had extensive damage done to my teeth, Dr. Ahmadi looks you straight in the eye, goes through all the x-​rays with you, tells you all upfront in an itemized list what you need done and how much each procedure will cost, then gives you plenty of time for all your questions. No tricks or surprises. Oh, and he doesn’t stop to talk on his cell phone when he’s with a patient. Phenomenal.
The extraction was over quickly and 100% painlessly!
In terms of the staff of Citi Dental Group, there is a collective feeling of positive energy among the place. EVERYBODY there from the two receptionists to the assistants is kind and in turn generates even more positivity. All the equipment is modern, the facilities are sparkling clean. They have Netflix to watch. During the x-​ray, we watched John Waters’ Crybaby, during the extraction, Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused. Come on, like I need to say more?

Dr. Ahmadi is AMAZING, so kind, professional, and very considerate! After a wisdom tooth infection, I had to get all 4 of them pulled out, and Dr. Ahmadi did the extraction the first day I went to Citi Dental and all at an unbelievably low price (I won’t say the exact price but let’s just say it was less than half of what I was quoted at another oral surgeon in the area).
The procedure was quick, and Dr. Ahmadi is clearly skilled and experienced as I had almost no pain the next day (I even had to get stitches!). Citi Dental as a whole is also extremely nice, clean, and comfortable, with green chairs and flat screen TVs. The receptionists really care about the patients as well and want to make sure you have a good experience and that you go home without any pain.
This is my first Unilocal review but I had to write one because I really would recommend Citi Dental to everyone. Definitely consider going!

I’m so incredibly thankful and happy I found Dr. Ahmadi and CitiDental.
They were referred to me by my partner and being a complete dentaphobe, I was dreading both the visit and the work I needed done. Dr. Ahmadi saw me on same-​day notice after I broke one of my vaneers. He spoke with me a while, did his best to put me at ease and spent an incredible about of time both working on me and explaining his process… at one point, walking out of the exam room, then returning after apparently noticing how nervous I was, he patted me on my shoulder and said «don’t worry, we’ll fix it right up, it’s all good.» Very cool guy with a chair-​side manner most dental patients only wish for.
Give them a try. Even if you’re outside Manhattan as I now am, it’s worth a train ride in.

Dr ahmadi is a phenomenal dentist! He is very low keyed and explains everything to you thoroughly so you know what your options are. Extremely patient and makes you feel comfortable about whats happening in your mouth. Although he suggested cosmetic, but non health related procedures it was very nonthreathening and I did not feel pressured at all. I would highly recommend him!

I am an architect and a picky as it gets with décor, with doctors, with receptionists et all. I «fell» into Dr. Amir’s office by way of Unilocal and because my existing dentist of 5 years could not perform some procedures. I stepped out from Dr. Lee’s 1980 décor and equipment into Dr. Amir’s 2015 world.
I have never ever been more impressed with a doctor as I have with Dr. Amir. Wow! Wow! Wow! I had my first appointment with him today and can I say again that I am so impressed I am speechless.
He has excellent bedside manners, his courteous staff (Rani was amazing and so helpful), Dr Amir is very knowledgeable about his field, he was telling about options so innovative, my old dentist has never mentioned and possibly could never grasp… oh and the space age gadgets at his office /​netflixs during procedures are yet unseen at other dental offices.
He is very organized and streamlines the process so that the patient truly understands whats going on. He showed me a video of the cavities on my teeth (in an almost microscopic form) and set about a treatment plan for all my issues. I have never felt more secure or happy leaving a dental office.
Oh and get this… they are open on Saturday My husband and colleagues are calling to make appointments tomorrow. I think I am very much in like with my new dentist…
Needless to say, I shall not be returning to Dr. Lee. IT SURE IS TIME FOR AN UPGRADE!!!

This place is very professional. I have regular dental insurance now, so I can just pop in here and have my teeth looked over whenever. Nice!
Of course recently the reason why I went was I had some more serious work done, a couple of wisdom teeth removed, and some cavities filled.
Wisdom teeth are tough. Imagine walking in and being greeted by very lovely ladies greeting you with a big smile. Yep and shortly thereafter uniformed assistants will walk you in and ask you what you want to watch on netflix!
The thing that takes the longest is sitting waiting for your mouth to numb up. Once the dentist comes back, he has your tooth out in a matter of minutes. Fast, professional, painless.
I even got a followup call from these guys a few days later, to make sure I wasn’t in any pain. Nice touch.
I had a followup visit the following week, and all seems fine.

It’s hard to rate a gum surgon after you’ve pretty much had your gums cut out of your mouth, then sewn back together… all 2 days before Thanksgiving. Yes… my life sucks… but Dr. Ahmadi has made it better!
Dr. Ahmadi is professional, experienced, careful and skillful. He is very forward and honest about what is going on and what needs to be done. I felt safe and at ease with him. Which is good, because I am deathly afriad of needles and knives… so it was nice to easily be able to sit back, close my eyes and loosen up a bit during my surgery.
I love Dr. Ahmadi and would recommend him to anyone! He practices over at citidental group, which is a firm composed of the most skillful in the busines… or atleast I think so. I have been through the ringer with my teeth (cavities, root canals, crowns, crown lengething, etc.) and have seen 4 specialists at their firm. ALL AMAZING!!! Such friendly people. :)

Dr. Ahmadi is certainly one of the best in the business. The best part is that he always takes time to answer any of your questions, and seems happy when he’s doing it. This is true of the entire office. I think it really symbolizes how much they care about their patients. He makes any surgery care free, and tries to make it as comfortable as he can. If you read any of the reviews for Dr. Loflin, the same applies for Dr. Ahmadi. They work really well as a team, and are always trying to learn from one another. Just a really well run practice.

I’ve been going to Citi Dental for about a year now and can confidently say that Dr. Ahmadi is one of the best. Initially I was drawn to this place because I didn’t have dental insurance with my last employer, so I was elated to see that they have their own insurance plan (approx. $ 40/​mo which gives you 3 free cleanings and half off of almost every procedure).
Dr. Ahmadi did my dental implant procedure which was so well done that it was virtually painless. I took 2 Tylenol the first day and that was it, pretty amazing considering he drilled a hole inside my mouth. He took me through every step and now finally I have a pretty crown that I’m very happy with. If you are lucky enough to get him do to your cleanings, you will be very happy. He’s a stickler for dental hygiene, taught me how to use the rubber tip thing and the easy brush cleaners… and the best thing is that he is extremely down to earth which makes it easy to ask questions, state concerns, etc. I say definitely come to him if you need a new dentist.

I was really happy with Dr. Ahmadi’s services. I saw him this week for a pseudo emergency situation and he made sure to fit me into his schedule with short notice. I’ve always been very nervous at the dentist, but Dr. Ahmadi was considerate and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible. My teeth are feeling a lot better and I would highly recommend him.
