Very rarely does one walk away from a cell phone experience on a high and happy note. Therefore this AT&T store probably won’t get too many highly rated reviews, but I am here to give compliments and minor complaints. My biggest issue with the staff is that they don’t go into depth about options and choices. I set up an appointment online(I highly recommend you do this to avoid any wait time — although midday on a weekday at Rockefeller Center does not a busy AT&T store make) and arrived early. There were several attendants, some helping customers, two available for help. I was escorted to a table for service and promptly told I needed authorization for my account. There wasn’t a lot of explanation for how this could come about so I left the store frustrated. Fast forward four more hours(and some family members scrambling to call AT&T and make me an authorized member of my account), I set up another appointment and went in ready to get further along in my process. Again, there were several available attendants and I was escorted to sit down. The woman who helped me was nice but a little abrupt and didn’t explain any of my options. I had already done a little research online but I was disappointed that she didn’t go through all of my choices, she simply asked me what I wanted and I told her what I could remember. Not ideal when upgrading a phone because there are several components to upgrades you wouldn’t want to forget. My phone needed to be backed up before I could transfer the information to my new phone(I know, I’m the scrub that never backs up her phone) so she told me to go home, wait for my phone to back up, and then instructed me on how to transfer the information. By the time I was home, I was already confused but she had given me her business card so I called and she answered. A huge plus. Overall, I don’t think this is a bad AT&T, little wait time, lots of help but unfortunately the customer service is still lacking in providing the proper information and help to its customers.
