History

Established in 2014.

Barça Tapas Bar and Restaurant is inspired by the whimsy and architectural style of Barcelona, Spain.

Filament bulbs encased in moorish inspired wicker light fixtures add a golden glow to the plush leather and cowhide banquette, lending an ambiance of intimacy to the stark nature of burnished brick walls. Polished Graffiti art pays homage to the colorful and energetic street art that made Barcelona famous.

Barça Tapas Bar and Restaurant uniquely combines Spanish-fusion dishes with a Mediterranean flair. Fresh ingredients from land and sea accent our Tapas selections. After enjoying a plate of our zesty homemade chorizo with Romesco and Artichoke or the savory Scallops in Saffron Sauce, excite your pallet with a round of some of our exciting cocktails, like the Spicy Hibiscus Margarita. A selection of refreshing Sangrias and a choice of premium wine, beer and liquor perfectly complement Barca’s succulent menu and stylish interior.

Meet the Manager

Michael J.

Manager

Michael Johnson came to Barça as General Manager after an expanding career in Hospitality Management, perfecting his craft in notable restaurants and hotels from Florida to New York.

After a successful tenure as Food and Beverage Manager at the 4 Diamond– rated Key West hotspot, Pier House Resort and Caribbean Spa, Michael arrived in New York.

As a member of the management team for the always busy temple to family style Italian, Carmine’s Time Square, Michael learned what the term «busy New York restaurant» really means. At Carmine’s Michael successfully managed the Front Desk and Reservation team as they shepherded guests through the often 2 hour wait for tables.

Finally returning to his fine dining roots, Michael joined Gordon Ramsay as the Training Director for Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and Maze at the London Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.

We now welcome him on his journey to bring casual elegance to Nolita!
