Had a great great massage, from Mark? I apologize if I have the name wrong. I was disappointed I didn’t get full 50 minutes because I was late, but I wish they call to to remind you of your appt time to avoid being late. Spa area is nice, but price is really expensive.

This place is so close to my apartment, so when I started feeling Sciatica pain in my back I immediately booked a Blissage 75 to get it worked on. The reservation hotline is super annoying to deal with, but I went through the hassle and made an appointment for the same day. I’m kicking myself for not remembering my masseuse’s name, because she was AMAZING. She let me play music from my phone in the room so I was able to listen to my favorite album while getting the most incredible massage for 75 minutes. She paid special attention to the areas that were bothering me, and found a lot of problem areas that I didn’t even know about. I felt a lot better afterwards and she even gave me yoga tips on how to avoid pain in the future. Very expensive at around 200 $ with tip, but Bliss’s facilities and staff are pretty great.

Don’t go there for a facial! They basically just washed my face for $ 130 + tax & tip. Then tried to get me to add on several things to my facial (upwards of an additional $ 100) and tried to get me to buy 6 products costing hundreds of dollars.

Salon = awesome. Website and app = GARBAGE. How can such an upscale salon have such a bad website?

I was given a gift card to Bliss for $ 250 (paid for in cash). The amount was clear and written by an employee from the 49^th street location wrote the amount on the card. Bliss will only honor $ 200, effectively stealing $ 50. The manager didn’t contact me the next day as promised. No one at the 877 number was able to help me nor would they give me the direct number for the spa. I had to go into the 49^th. Finally I received and email stating that they would honor the full $ 250 that was paid for and marked on the card.
They did not honor their own gift card nor was there customer service.

I had the Peeling Groovy facial with Niso. Fabulous experience. I was very anxious going in – I’ve never had a facial here so went in blind regarding technician to request and type of facial to get. I also had read so many reviews of other guests being talked into more experience treatments or actually being told the treatment they’d scheduled couldn’t be done because of something to do with their skin – all very lame and inappropriate. I was ready to be strong armed.
Niso was lovely – great disposition and temperament. Very soothing voice too. Great experience, very relaxing. One let down – I had expected extractions during the facial and there were none. I thought that was a given but I was incorrect.
I will also say, during a previous visit, I had a waxing appt with Jackie and that was horrible. I’d never go back to her. She began the appt 15 minutes late, did a horrible job and had a lousy attitude.

Didn’t get to go to this spa. Cause the availability for services is soo limited. But the reservation office service reps (phone) are rude and a bit uneducated on all the services provided at different locations

Had to revise review and rating to 3 stars from 1. I was really disappointed with my manicure (especially given the $ 30 price), and mentioned it to the girl when I was checking out. I was pretty embarrassed doing so — I typically take out my frustration discreetly on Unilocal :). But she didn’t make me feel uncomfortable at all. She apologized multiple times and called her manager. They told me they were very sorry and that in the future they can recommend other technicians for me, and to make things right I can choose any two products. I actually declined the offer for the products but felt it was a very nice gesture. Feel it’s common for people to complain about manicures and most places just ignore you. I still don’t think I’ll be returning, but I’m certainly more likely to reconsider now for other spa treatments.

Not a Blissful. experience for me the online booking was down, that should have been a sign. I called, made an appointment and came in anyway. I waited for 30 minutes for my pedicure and had to ask 3 times before my pedicurist was located. Then I had a pedicure in one of the most awkward chairs I have ever been in. Not relaxing at all, and for the price, quite disappointing. I was told that the room would be remodeled in the new year, which is good news for anyone who comes later. Not so good news for me. My toes look nice, but my experience was quite unacceptable.

My mother and I came to NYC for a holiday party, and decided to get a few spa treatments. I had a wonderful deep tissue massage and felt cared for from head to toe. I really appreciated the serene sitting room that was stocked full of bite sized snacks, cucumber water and comfortable seating. It is easy to spend a day here — we will be coming back! Thank you for such great service.

AMAZING! My cousin brought me 75 min body massage for my birthday that past recently in October. I had a 1pm appointment, get here a little early because u have to check in and then there’s a waiting area before your massage with citrus flavored water, cheese, crackers, brownies and cucumbers. Little snacks before you relax your mind and body. After the massage you can stay in the room to eat some refreshments and use their sauna and sweat room which I def did and took advantage of everything. They have showers, fully Equipped and maintained by the cleaners every few minutes. They also have shavers for those who need to shave their legs

After my last spa adventure gone wrong it’s refreshing to have had such a lovely and relaxing experience. I got the oxygen facial and loved it. I also had waxing done and there was no double dipping which was a relief. Plus the job was excellent. I love the product selection! The only complain is that I find products in general are pushed by the estheticians. I felt like they are being pressured to do this, and it doesn’t makes the client comfortable. I point this out because it can actually deter someone from returning. I only mention this because the spa is super clean and a total gem. Wouldn’t want that yo be a reason why someone wouldn’t want to come back. All in all my experience was great.

I got my first massage ever recently at Bliss 49 and it was a wonderful experience. Check in was quick, and my masseuse Neil was wonderful. He made me feel very comfortable, relaxed, and my back feels 100x better! Neck pain is completely gone. Highly recommend Neil.
1 star removed as when i was checking out, I went to the front desk and was told by the cleaning ladies to wait at the other front desk, even though there was nobody there… waited 5 minutes for someone to come help me while the cleaning ladies stood at their desk in full view chatting to each other. They couldnt be bothered to call for help for me.

I was a regular customer until i moved away for a few months and now came back for my routine visit. Boy, has the place changed! I had a Shellac manicure on Sunday, and now it is day three, three of the paints already peeled off completely with the rest opening up on the edges! I spent close to $ 50 on this. If i hadn’t lived far from the spa, i would totally demand a full refund! this was such a bad experience.
The massage was also below average. For the entire time, it felt like she didn’t apply any pressure even after i demanded it. The steam room does not work.
What a crappy experience. I will never come back again! I hope to get a refund for my nail treatment if the manager of this place can see this review. With such high price, i was looking for much better quality services.

My mom has been buying products from Bliss for years and finally made it here with a $ 100 gift card in hand. Decided on this location given its proximity to home.
Made a same day appointment over the phone for 4:45 for the head to toe glow treatment, which included the triple oxygen facial, a body wrap, and foot massage for 90 minutes. Ryan was great and ended up suggested additional services and recommending products (a bit of a sell).
No cell phones in the waiting area. Water with lemon, cheese, crackers, cucumbers, and chocolate brownies were available to munch on as you waited.
There’s also a shower, steam room, and sauna.
Definitely a little pricey even with the gift card so not sure how often I’ll be back but glad I got to treat myself!

Came here with a birthday $ 50 gift card and tried out the 30 minute Oxygen Blast Facial. Left very satisfied and happy.
Pros:
* Immaculate and clean spa. Spacious changing rooms and shower rooms stocked with fragrant Bliss products. In the comfortable and dimly-​lit waiting rooms, you can sip on lemon water and snack on brownie bites and cheese & crackers.
* The individual client rooms were huge, well conditioned and most importantly, quiet.
* My Facial Skin Specialist Devin was amazing. She was friendly, sweet and wasn’t too pushy with additional services or products like past aestheticians I’ve seen. She had incredibly deft massage techniques that left my skin feeling completely relaxed. The oxygen blast portion was unique and soothing– she used a machine that infused oxygen mixed with vitamins into my skin and neck.
Cons:
* Because the waiting room was so dark it was hard to read the magazines. May help to have reading lights.
* The décor here isn’t as modern and swanky as other spas I’ve been to. It’s just a LITTLE outdated.
Ended up paying $ 62.50 out of pocket for the facial. Because my facial experience was… truly blissful… I would love to return as a regular customer. But unfortunately Bliss is way beyond my budget (1-​hr services priced at least $ 130). Very tempted to splurge on the promotion packages as they are quite discounted.

I didn’t take advantage of any of the other services, but the waxing with Dee made me a believer in Bliss. She was fast and thorough without rushing; definitely very good at what she does. Dee took the time to explain everything she planned to do beforehand, and even let me know which area would «tingle» (never hurt) for 4 seconds during the process. She was on point! I couldn’t have asked for a better technician. I’ll definitely be a returning to see Dee.
The spa is brightly lit and cheery. I noticed refreshments and nibblers on the ground floor when I entered. I didn’t partake because I was directed to the 4^th floor to wait. You’re asked to arrive 15 – 20 minutes early. I was about 50 minutes early. It would have been nice to have been offered refreshments since I was so early. Instead, I just dozed off on the comfortable couch. Not a bad consolation prize.
I booked online, which was fast and simple. I didn’t think the cost of the service was pricey. You can’t put a monetary value on painless! They must be doing something right because the spa was buzzing with clients/​activity early on a Saturday morning.
Bottom line, I’ll definitely visit Bliss again.

The massage I had was great, but first I wanted to address why I dropped a star from my previous review:
I got to the spa early and waited till I was called — I was called in late. And by the time I walked to the room, discussed my problem areas, and waited for her to come back in with supplies, it had eaten into 15 minutes of my massage. I don’t understand why they are so aware of when a massage ends, and they end it promptly, but they aren’t aware of the clock at the BEGINNING of a massage.
I paid $ 225 for 105 min massage, so losing any time is kind of significant. I didn’t want to bring it up, because it felt awkward and I wasn’t sure if she had appointments after me, and if she extended my time, maybe everyone else would be delayed. But this will be something to be aware of going forward if I come back here for future massages. I had a feeling this had occurred during my last massage at Bliss 49 as well, but couldn’t be sure because I didn’t have my cell phone to monitor the time.
In any case, I had an amazing massage and I felt she was so attentive, communicative, and really understood my meaning when I said I wanted a relaxing massage, not too much pressure with intense elbows, but not as if I were only getting a lotion rub. She was good with using her forearms, so it was perfect. I was definitely close to falling asleep. And for once someone listened to, and focused, on my problem areas. Other times I had massages at other places, they would massage where they wanted to go, or give a full body. This time I specifically requested legs/​feet, and neck/​shoulders/​scalp, and she really honed in on those spots. I would go back for her alone!
In any case, the front desk is super friendly, this place is clean — bathrooms and all — and I enjoyed the experience overall. I just think it’s important to either honor when a massage starts.

I really like Bliss spa and Bliss products and this is my favorite location. Gi gi for mani/​pedi is a dream, she makes my feet soft like a newborn’s. The facials I leave to Masha, who has magic hands and even the most unpleasant part — the extractions — are not as painful and she uses massage and masks to minimize any swelling or redness.
What I do is make a day out of it. The services are expensive so its a once-​in-​a while treat but when I do come, I like to arrive at least 1 hour before services, relax, use the steam room and the sauna, do a foot scrub and/​or hair mask. There are products for sale at the entrance so this might be a good time to try it — this is how I fell in love with the salt scrub and the foot scrub, I used it after a sauna in the spa shower and my skin felt like new. I also like to have a few minutes in the lounge to relax with a good book and have a tea — for New Yorkers who are so used to the noise and the hustle of our beloved city, the spa can and should be a serene getaway
The only minus is when they have big parties, usually bachelorette crowds, they can be loud and obnoxious and ruin the serenity but there is no way to foresee that — unless Bliss builds a separate «Loud» lounge — I really like that idea :)

Hrmm it’s tough not to compare to the Burke Williams in CA, which is so much bigger with more to do! Haha. I guess that’s what happens when you’re in NYC, though!
Anyways…the facilities are ok. They’re nice, but there’s not much to do-​you can hang out in the lounge and eat some small bites, read some magazines, there’s some showers, a sauna, etc. I didn’t really spend much time doing either of those things, though!
Onto the massage-​I had the prenatal and I really liked Amy! It was super relaxing and… just everything about it was great! I forgot what it was called, but she put something warm all over my feet which felt like mud, and wrapped them up during the duration of the massage. You also start out face down (but can do your sides as well, and you only do your sides in your third trimester), with a bunch of cushioning so you’re comfortable. In the end, she puts on some of their mama oils, etc on your belly as well. Overall, I left feeling very pampered and relaxed… ahhh.
It is really pricey here, but you already knew that, right?! I’d probably only come one more time due to that, and check out their after birth massage/​wrap!
