When I took a heavy-​duty antibiotic prescription from my dentist to Block Drugs, the pharmacist Carmine said something like: This is no good. «This will kill all the fora in your gut; that’s dangerous with your Crohn’s disease. Let’s call the dentitst.»

I used to live a block from Block – no pun intended – and was in here all the time. I still stop in here often; I remember when Carmine’s daughter Giulia was just born, and now I think she’s graduated college.
They’re a family-​owned business, a precious jewel in a city of Duane Reades. (I avoid Duane Reade the way I avoid Starbucks and WholeMart.) Carmine and Beth are knowledgeable and friendly; they know their customers, and care about them. And they’ll notarize your documents!
