I never thought I’d give a 5 star review to a barber shop, but I had an exceptional experience at this unassuming, hole in the wall establishment. Staring into the beatific image of the late Rabbi Menachem Schneerson as a veteran Russian barber expertly cut my locks, I couldn’t have felt more relaxed. Best of all, I only paid $ 14, pre-tip! A haircut which would have cost me $ 40 if I had gone to the chi-chi shop two blocks away. Never let them convince you that you get what you pay for, because what I paid for exceeded my wildest expectations.

Went in for shoe shine. I told him my shoes were cordovan and not brown. He puts in brown cream and I said what are you doing? He says Kiwi stopped making cordovan polish. I said what are you talking about? They’ve been making cordovan for over 100 years. Then he said the company moved far away — but somehow they ship black and brown polish but not cordovan. Then he told me I could leave for another shoe shine place while the brown cream was sitting on top of my shoes. Seriously?
