Awesome food, service… Our server Anastasia was awesome. Definitely coming back again. The food was great and oysters phenomenal. Didn’t have to wait to be seated and the food wait time not pong at all.

I was looking for an oyster spot around Penn Station, and CajunSea came up on Unilocal.This is a large, bright restaurant, with plenty of seating. The ambience is fairly casual, more of a crab boil, bibs, and oyster seafood restaurant than an oyster, martinis and white wine place. We got a pound of crab legs to share, and they were very garlicky. A little too garlicky for my taste. The oysters were okay — neither amazing nor terrible.

First time here and had high hopes for this restaurant. But it turned out to be just mediocre. This place is good for groups, allows reservations and accepts credit cards (unlike the Boil). However if you’re looking for better seafood and sauces, I would recommend the Boil !! (Just bring cash!)
The service was good here, which is the only reason why I give it 3 stars. We tried the shrimp and crawfish in mild, Cajun and mild, butter — these lacked in taste. We also had the garlic bread (nothing special), the truffle fries (these were good!) and wings (these were pretty good). So to conclude, everything was just okay.

The dish was excellent and the waiter was amazing. I found my heart in New York at this place, if anyone comes to New York I would recommend stopping by and fall In love like I did. I went with my cousin for dinner since it was our last night in New York and it was walking distance from our hotel. I had a free shot with my Unilocal check, the shot wasn’t that strong tho. but I had a hurricane which was to die for and did I tell you how amazing our waiter was lol. I can’t remember his name but he was a handsome Asian dude, if anyone go there tell him I said hi hahahaha. Omg this review took a turn huh.

The boils were excellent and the service was astonishing for a Sunday night Natalie provided excellent service and is the perfect example of how your clients should be waited on give her a promo. would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves seafood. See you soon and thank you

My experience overall was ok.
Service was slow, we needed to call a server over multiple times for water /​napkins /​etc. Just didn’t feel we had enough attention.
We ordered the combo C with shrimp and Alaskan crab legs. Which was cooked nicely in a garlic butter Cajun spice. However the boil seemed to be all oil and ended up masking the flavors. I found myself reaching for salt or add more seasoning.
Seafood generally isn’t a very filling. That said, would liked to have seen them offer some starch/​bread with the dish to balance and complement.
The look and feel of the restaurant seemed like a mix of a rustic bar/​seafood shack (dark) which is good but I would have preferred more lighting as seafood is very beautiful and with better lighting the food would have looked more appetizing.
Not against returning again but wouldn’t be excited to.

The seafood isn’t fresh and the crawfish taste so plain. The seafood here is way overpriced.

We made reservations just in case there was a wait on a Friday night for 5 people. We were surprised to find that there were plenty of tables still available throughout the night. The restaurant was very spacious and comprised of two floors so it is a good place to accommodate big groups. When we arrived, we started off with pitchers of beers ($ 9 each, which fills roughly about 3 glasses) and two dozen oysters ($ 1 each). The oysters weren’t the freshest but it is what you would expect to get when ordering off a HH menu.
Our waiter was really nice and came to check up on us before the HH ended at 8:00PM, in case we wanted to order anything else. He also provided us with tons of napkins since he knew it’ll get messy with our large orders.
For our appetizers:
Cajun Chicken Wings ($ 9.99) — They were good but a bit overcooked. It wasn’t anything amazing but we just love wings in general and felt the need to order it.
Fries ($ 6.99) — The truffle Aioli dip was delicious and the fries came out piping hot. Must try!
For the Boil I did the shrimp in Garlic Butter ($ 15.99 lb) and the Crawfish in Classic Cajun ($ 15.99 lb) Spicy Level. Out of the two sauces, the garlic butter was definitely tastier. However, the sauce is one of the most important factors of the boil and they were both very bland. You would think that they would be packed with flavor since they were both loaded with garlic but needless to say, the recipe could use a bit of improvement. We also ordered Garlic Bread ($ 3) as a side to dip into the sauce. I was able to try the mild sauces and the bomb spicy sauce from my friend’s buckets but I liked the spicy level the best. One of my friends added salt to his sauce and said it tasted a lot better afterwards! By now, I’ve been to all of the Cajun Seafood places in NYC, but The Boil in LES seems to have the best sauce recipe so I would probably go there instead next time!

Long wait but Alvin, our waiter, was able to maneuver tables so that we may be seated right away. Great seafood! Great service!

Was OK. Stopped for a quick lunch. The oysters were real good but the lobster roll was just OK. Seemed a little dry and small. Probably I’m spoiled on lobster rolls in Boston. Gotta say the cajun fries were real good though. Otherwise service was good.

Great appetizers. Crab cakes were almost all meat and the sauce was tasty. Catfish (po-​boy and basket) very good and spiced nicely. The fish was flaky and delicious. Our server Anastasia was helpful and friendly and let us know about the free shot you get if you check in. She handled a busy lunch crowd with aplomb.

I visited NYC and had the luck of stopping in for some oysters. My server Anastasia made some other suggestions from the menu and I had a wonderful happy hour with great light fare and left with a happy palette and because of the friendliness of my server a positive NYC experience.

My significant other and I came here on a Monday night and We loved it! Seafood seafood seafood! Happy happy hour! What can I tell you! We had the snowcrab combo, with gigantic shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn, and mild classic cajun sauce. Oh la la! I would have licked my fingers but I had gloves on. We also had crawfish with spicy cajun sauce, delicious! We will def come back!

Being a native Houstonian, I have every cajun place in Manhattan bookmarked as soon as I learn of them. I had the chance to visit CajunSea last week, when catching up with Marissa L. after work.
We were seated pretty quickly after arrival, though the bad and restaurant were just about full. Service was super slow, and we waited a long time to order water and drinks. I would have had two more drinks in the hour we were there had anyone come by to see us (and I was turned around in my seat, trying desperately to catch someone to come over).
For food, we of course went for a boil — the Lobster combo, which comes with 1.5 pounds of lobster, corn, potatoes, sausage, and we selected crawfish (over shrimp and clams). The crustaceans were very hard-​shelled, IMO. Even using the little shell cracker, the crawfish and the lobster were incredibly hard to get at. And the meat itself was bland and slightly overcooked, even though it was drowned in a very spicy sauce (we picked «classic cajun» in «spicy,» and it delivered).
We had garlic bread on the side, and didn’t order dessert. Since we sat through an hour’s worth of happy hour but only got one drink, we were feeling a little unloved and got the check and ran.
If you’re in the neighborhood and craving a boil I’d say go for it, but I likely won’t be back.

I am visiting from Miami and I decided to try a seafood restaurant (specifically a crab and lobster joint) and I must say it was a great experience. We were met with an amazing host that showed us to our seats followed by a great waiter by the name of Alvin. The whole experience was amazing thanks to Alvin and his knowledge on all the great food. I will definitely be recommending CajunSea to anyone that is visiting from out of town as well as any locals looking for a great Crab/​Lobster boil. Ask for Alvin as he was great from start to finish.

I came here for the crawfish. The sauce was special! Especially the bomb spicy one! Don’t try it unless you really love spicy food!!! But one thing is the crawfish are just boiled. So actually the meat don’t have any taste (no salt, no spice inside) so you must eat them with the sauce.

So far cool location to grab a beer and relax food looks appetizing and drink selection during happy hour appears reasonable. The service was a bit slow at the bar but the servers were friendly. It took a minute for the food to come ok but it was delicious. Nice lil spot to come to but over priced

Food was tasty and really good Cajun seafood place! Not too expensive and it’s reasonable pricing. King crab and snow crabs were huge portion and their happy hour really is a nice deal! It last until 8pm and their bar set up was perfect for game. Their employee was very nice and I love their customized cocktails! Love this place. Best seafood Cajun place so far!

My mom, aunt, and I are in town for a girls’ weekend and found this place on Unilocal since it is near our apartment. We were all very pleased!
My aunt is not a fan of spicy food so she was skeptical. She ended up loving the garlic and butter shrimp boil. My mom and I both did Cajun shrimp boils and loved them! The bomb spicy was a nice kick! We all appreciated the plastic gloves. I’ve never seen anywhere else do this. It really saved our hands!
We also made it in time for the $ 1 oyster happy hour special. They were great! Large and well selected.
Our server was great. Attentive but not pushy.
It didn’t feel like a tourist trap at all, which was a concern given its location.

Came here for oyster happy hour and drinks. Didn’t do the boil, but it looked/​smelled good so I may return one day. The dollar oysters were fine. Their HH cocktail menu was pretty bare, but they had some good beers. The bathrooms are downstairs and there’s one step that’s way too steep and you’ll probably almost fall. Service was slow and we could barely flag someone down for the check. That is all the useful information I have.

After passing by this place so many times, I finally decided to come in during happy hour. My party of three arrived around 7:30pm, and the place was pretty empty on a weekday. There were about five tables seated and a few people at the bar. We ordered two dozen oysters and it was the chef’s choice. The oysters were really «meaty» and so fresh. I was pretty surprised that the oysters were so quality. I didn’t get a chance to any of the other seafood, but I will be back!

I had this on my list and had wanted to come here for a good while and finally made it last night. Made a reservation for 8pm but didn’t need it. The place was half empty. I was excited about finally trying crawfish and my crawfish experience was great, but besides that, this place is nothing to write home about.
It feels like it’s aiming to be a hip, posh kind of place but falls somewhere in the Applebees kind of fast casual place. It’s hard to relax and really enjoy your food when the entire staff is on radios like they’re CIA. The upstairs needs a bit of a touch up, with a decent amount of wear on the vinyl seats and black electrical tape blacking out many of their former menu options. There just comes a certain point where you just need to reprint new menus. However, the downstairs is beautiful! There’s a really intimate private room that looks great for parties.
The happy hour is something that initially drew me in, but for the oysters, you have to order in quantities of 6, which is kind of silly. And the draft beer specials aren’t really specials. $ 4 for Coors Light? I know it’s midtown and it’ll always be a bit unreasonable, but a draft of Coors Light should never be more than $ 4. That said, if you go to Upstate downtown, you can get better oysters and better beer during happy hour for only $ 2 more. Points lost here for that.
I got a pound of the crawfish and it was actually pretty decent. I really didn’t know how many crawfish make up a pound so I thought it would be next to nothing, but there were a good amount in there. Wish there was a bit more corn and potatoes. Could’ve used much less sauce. I got the garlic and butter sauce and there was just this slop of it at the bottom of the bag. It was a good first experience with crawfish, but that gloppy mess of a sauce always deducted points here.
You can do worse in midtown, but this place really didn’t measure up to my expectations.

Fantastic service and delicious food. Our server went above and beyond ensuring that all went well from assistance with menu selections and recommendations to inquiring periodically to see if we needed anything else.
If you haven’t been here, it’s definitely worth a shot for some super fresh seafood.

I always pass by this place and I’ve been wanting to try it for so long and today I finally did!!! The happy hour deals have been calling my name for weeks now!
We ordered a dozen oysters ($ 1 for one) and the lobster special, which consists of a 1lb lobster with corn and potato for $ 19.95! I thought it was a great deal since I can’t eat much of a lobster anyways. We came on a Tuesday night, and it happened to be ladies’ night so I got a lychee martini for $ 5. OH boy… this martini was so strong! I shared half of it and I was still super woozy after! But damn, definitely worth my 5 bucks. Also if you check in, you can also redeem a house special shot. Honestly, I didn’t care too much for the shot; it barely tasted like alcohol and to be honest, I thought I was taking a shot of lemon water LOL
The oysters tasted very fresh! I was very please with them. They were on the smaller size though, but I guess I can’t ask for much from happy hour $ 1 oysters haha. The boiled lobster was extremely fresh as well. I guess I can’t review much on the flavors because it’s raw oysters and boiled lobster… but overall I was extremely satisfied with my food, and I was super full when I got home!
The staff there was extremely nice as well and very courteous! I can’t wait to go back and get more seafood!!!

I’m not sure if this place is new or not, but it seems like they’re still working on a few kinks.
First, the food was great. I split an order of the 1 pound of shrimp and our table also had a few orders of the east coast oysters. The oysters were GREAT. The shrimp was good too, but for a pound of food, it didn’t seem like a lot, but regardless, the food was really good, all of the seafood was really fresh and didn’t leave any of us feeling ill at all. So that’s a HUGE plus in our book.
But, the service was definitely sub par. Maybe it was especially busy, but our server forgot to give us little forks for our oysters, didn’t refill our drinks once, my friend ordered soup and he didn’t get a spoon (he actually waited for like 10 minutes and then eventually just got up to go find her), we weren’t given bibs, and they didn’t have garlic butter! We originally wanted garlic butter for our shrimp boil, but they ran out! How does that even happen lol
To be fair, the manager (owner?) made rounds to all the tables and asked us if everything was alright. I told her the service wasn’t great and explained and she apologized profusely. She asked if we wanted any desserts or drinks, but we only had one person drinking beer and none of us wanted any sweets so the offer felt a little insincere.
I’ll definitely go back once more though to give this place another chance. Hopefully next time they work out the small issues and I can enjoy the delicious food.

Oyster happy hour has $ 1 east coast oysters, decent, but not as fresh as culls & pistol

After three years of passing by in a daily bases, I finally stepped in. My original thought is tow try the Louisiana style crawfish, which is highly praised on Unilocal.I called to days earlier and was told the crawfish will be serviced starting April. After I ordered boiled shrimp, the nice bartender Alvin told me the season is already started since last week…
Anyhow, the one pound shrimp is JUMBO! Two corn pieces and some potato are also tossed in. The sauce is full of butter, like one third gallon of it. Who said the spicy Is diluted by cream on Unilocal???I asked for spicy, not the crazy one and it is pretty hot. I have to use my glove coved hand to pick napkin to wipe my running nose and pick up beer to balance it. Oh the wheat ale is really good for such seafood bucket. This Ommegang Witte beer is in perfect temperature, not like some places where all beer are in the icing condition. It is creamy and full of wheat aroma. Let’s go back to the food. It was cooked so quick and I just did three sip of my beer. The shrimp is as fresh as you can get and is perfectly cook. Alvin quickly opened the bag for me upon service to prevent overcook. The spicy is a combination of hot and garlicky flavor, different from sweet based sauce in some other places. Since I have never been in Louisiana so I can not judge for it authenticity. But I love it, and I keep sweat until a few hours later due to the hotly in my belly.
I will bring my Louisiana native buddy next week to judge the crawfish next week.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. As a southeast Asian, I am very discerning about my seafood. I have to say, not only was the seafood awesome, the portions were huge and Sean was awesome!

Excellent and quick customer service, when you come remember to look for Axcel!:) The service is so much better than any other places I have been! The Happy hour is a good deal. Also great ambiance and good selection of food. We ordered the $ 1 dollar and combo A: bomb spicy. Be careful it is SPICY! I wish the taste got more complexity and sweetness but it is still pretty good. Overall it is a very pleasant experience.

From the moment we sat down felt like I was right at home. We got a bar table for date night with my girlfriend and we couldn’t have been happier. The food was amazing fast and fresh. I called this morning to see if they have crawfish in season. The gentleman on the phone said they indeed have it for $ 14/​LB. We came in around 5:30pm. Bar was pack. We ordered 1.5 dz. $ 1 oysters from Virginia. Can I say amazing for the price?! Coming from the south, I am picky with the seasoning. I didn’t know how spicy it’ll be so I got spicy Cajun. If you’re a pro, I would get bomb spicy bc it wasn’t too spicy. Seasoning was hands down one of best I ever tried. My significant other ordered lobster & shrimp. Definite a must order! Our server that took care of us Julius was amazing!!! I will definitely return!

Shame on a seafood restaurant to pre-​cook seafood then serve it like a piece of dead meat lying in the sauce but with no flavor on.
Ordered spicy tomato shrimp and mussel. It taste gross. The mussel taste like refrigerated dog food.

Came here for Happy hour ($ 4 draft beer) ($ 8 white wine) with one of my girlfriends on a wed night. 2^nd time coming here and definitely busier than the 1^st time; The happy hour special is not bad here; got $ 1 oysters and the basket fries mix. Understaffed, under cooked and UNDERWHELMING…
My friends and I came on an early Friday evening for a friend’s birthday celebration. By the time we arrived at 5:45PM, there were only one or two tables occupied. Waitress stopped by about twice-​three times to take our order. (Let’s keep a count on how many times she actually stopped by during the entire meal).
Food arrives and we’re all digging in. The birthday girl, who ordered Combo B, took a bite into her clams and tasted it raw. She also inserting a hardly cooked, super rock solid hard piece of potato in her mouth, thinking it was soft (I mean how else does one eat potatoes). Now try and imagine her reaction — Yes! Big disappointment all the while trying to recover her sensations in her mouth after that «potato».
We decided to inform our waitress that this is raw. Of course, she is nowhere to be found but we managed to wave a different waitress down. She takes it back to the kitchen and the chef took the clams in the bag and did some «hocus pocus» knocking against the walls. After 5 mins, the same food arrived again, supposedly more cooked. At this point, the birthday girl just tried to finish whatever she can to haul azz from here.
This place had nice décor and was pretty easy to find. But I must admit the food was way below sub-​par and the service? WHAT SERVICE?! I only saw our main waitress twice during my entire meal — to take our order and when we were leaving this joint. We only had to waved other waitresses down a few handful of times to get the usual water, utensils and such. Not many restaurants get two chances from their patrons so you would think they should have done it right by the second chance. And how can a «Cajun» restaurant mess up it’s main highlight dish? I guess the only positive out of this experience — we may have spent $ 150+ on a whack meal but WE NOW KNOW TO AVOID THIS PLACE!!! A lesson well learnt indeed…

From beginning till end this place was the epitome of a good time, with only a few days left in New York me and the missus decided to dab our hands into some seafood as recommended by a few friends. What can I say this has got me coming back for more, as soon as we arrived the spacious surroundings and the huge sculptures of the lobster and crab await you. We had ordered a starter of ½ dozen east coast oysters that was by far in my opinion one of the best i’ve had, for the mains we had ordered the combo B (check menu) and an extra order of snow crab plus a portion of the steak and eggs (cooked to preference). One must say that the food
came out in good time and the best of all was just out of this world… ok ok you may think I’m exaggerating but trust me seeing is believing in this case tasting is admiring!!! The star of this show was not just the food but the service… Service was bar none one of the best in New York and the main man Alvin had been looking after us from the moment we walked into the door till we left, always there for a helping hand (If you are stuck for choice ask Alvin and he will give you some good suggestions that cant go wrong)!!! Thanks for the experience

First off… you had me at $ 1 oysters. 100% on point and delicious! My husband and I went all in and tackled the combo A boiler — lobster and shrimp… unbutton your pants now. Holy cow it’s a lot of food… it’s so deceiving. Do yourself a favor and order some bread… they only offer crummy garlic bread which costs $ 3 (and there isn’t much of it) but the broth is so worth it.

The food was ok. I wasn’t all that impressed. For a seafood restaurant, it could’ve been better. Some more seasoning atleast. However my girlfriend loved it. I enjoyed myself regardless though.
Great music in the background, excellent service & the restaurant is spacious. Although I wasn’t all impressed by my meal of choice, I am planning on revisiting to give it one more try. My 1^st meal I had the 1lb crab legs. On my next meal I’ll try the lobster.
Ps– the appetizer was delicious. We had the fish and chips basket. Next time I’ll try the lobster Mac and cheese!

I stopped into CajunSea after a long day at work while detailed to my company’s office in the Empire State Building. Having come from Boston, I was looking for a decent happy hour with a good deal on oysters and drinks.
CajunSea definitely fulfilled that task. Alvin was my bartendar and — though he was training someone while serving me — his service was always prompt and correct. Happy hour offers $ 1 chef choice oysters and discounted drinks.
They also have good soup! I stopped in here for take out clam chowder also and it was very good. I have yet to stop in for a full lunch or dinner, but I intend to while I am here.

I have been to this place twice and it is AMAZING! From the south and I was looking for a seafood boil in NY and I found it!!! So glad. from the lobster to the shrimp… My favorite is the mild cajun shrimp boil for $ 16.if you don’t like spicy, my friend asked for hers to be plain with garlic butter. which is so good. We sat at the bar. the bartender Alvin was very nice and attentive. everyone was super nice and that is rare in NY. lol I found my to-​go seafood spot #5star

Tuesday happy hours are ideal for ladies with $ 5 cocktails and a great $ 1 deal on oysters for all. Surprising the east coast oysters were fresh and delicious, much better than the west coast ones served. Highly recommend getting some on happy hour price.
My waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive — my water glass was never empty. The music however was oddly loud, adding a strange club vibe to the restaurant — I was listening to Fetty Wap while cracking some crab.
On that note, I ordered the king crab combo upon the waiters recommendations. It was. okay. Slightly dry and tasteless but doable with the lemon and butter. Disappointing as it was my main meal.
Overall the experience was kind of strange with loud music, and the main course was off. Although the service was lovely and the oysters were delicious. Would I come back? Possibly, if I was in the right mood for the vibe and tried a different main dish.

This restaurant is located on a quiet street one block north of the always bustling K-​town. It’s rather spacious and definitely a good option for small group or large group gatherings.
My boyfriend and I each had the Combo A boil — lobster and shrimp ($ 40). For the sauce, he chose the classic Cajun, while I had the garlic butter. For the spiciness level, we both chose bomb spicy.
If you’re stuck between the two sauces, don’t be, because the difference is so subtle that we honestly couldn’t tell the difference when we took bites at each other’s food. And if you’re worried that the food will be too spicy, don’t be, because the sauces are mixed with a significant amount of cream which reduces the spicy effect. The bomb spicy is the highest level of spiciness, yet we both only felt a tingle on our tongues. (I will stick with Sichuan food if I’m looking for some real spice.)
The seafood was definitely very fresh, and the experience of eating messily was definitely fun, but I thought the sauce itself was just average.

I came here with a good friend of mine and we arrived around 4:20-ish so we dragged it out until happy hour hit at 5. Yes, we’re that ridiculous. Long be hold we stayed here for 2.5 hours just catching up on girl talk but let me not digress.
Service started off sucky. I had to ask for waters WHILE we were eating. Why do I even have to ask for that after the food arrived? We didn’t get napkins until the end of our meal. MESSY. The waiter was very slow with service up until 5 o’clock. More servers arrived and I guess it made him comfortable and ready to work. I can smack the SMOKE out of the ppl. that said this is better than the boil. BITCH WHERE?!
We had the following (I’ll be fair and not compare this to the boil):
Lobster mac and cheese: Loose, should’ve been soup, but it wasn’t nasty.
Calamari: Probably my favorite part of the meal, nice and crispy and not chewy.
Crab cakes: Ummm ok. Not the worst but not the best.
Combo A (includes lobster, shrimp, corn, and potatoes): The sauce to me didn’t have much flavor and was very loose. I prefer my sauce a tad bit thicker just a little more substance. The lobster was VERY chewy, the potatoes and corn was flavorless, I didn’t get to try the shrimp. Blah, didn’t do much for me but my friend enjoyed it way more than I did.
Lobster roll: At this point, I just think that maybe I’m not a lobster girl. Blah. This came with a salad and even the salad was Blah.
(4) Margaritas: Got us where we needed to be but had a lot of lime juice in it. Very tart.
(1) Complimentary Unilocal check in lemon drop: It’s complimentary and 100% lemon juice –_​-​.
(1) Strawberry Daquiri: This was good. Very good!
(2) Cranberry Vodkas: Got this during happy hour and let’s just say it didn’t make us well… happy.
Take it how you want but I’ve had much better food for less. The bill was $ 175 without tip and that’s not bad but I could’ve made this at home. Glad I got it off my restaurant bucket list though.

Went here last week for a friends birthday. There were 15 of us and we already made a reservation… We ordered all of our food and TWO HOURS later the food came. I know we were a big group but waiting that long for food was ridiculous… i also noticed most of the other customers there in smaller groups were not getting there food too. The kitchen was really really slow. Our waitress was nice, i asked another waiter for water and he said he’ll come back. We left the restaurant and still no water came. We could see people in the restaurant getting pissed off and looking for the manager and hear the waiters saying there is no manager. How can you run that kind of business without a manager? The food was good but to wait that long for it was not worth it. Am k coming back here? I dont think so.

Came here for happy hour before dinner reservations. The bartender, Julius was very attentive and nice. He makes the effort to start a conversation with you. I made a reservation at 6:30 for 6 people yesterday. When we came in, the hostess could not find my name. She found out that they overbooked. However, she was able to seat us in the basement where it was empty. We got all the combo on the menu. Unfortunately, they did not have the crawfish. The spicy Cajun was good. I prefer it over garlic butter. Garlic butter was too oily for me. It was pretty busy upstairs so the waitress took a while. They also ran out of cups for water. The waitress really made an effort to accommodate us and apologizes for the delay. The place is spacious with nice décor. The music was good. There was tv for people who wanted to watch sports. Overall, not a bad experience.

Food was excellent. We all enjoyed what we ordered. The food came out in a timely fashion and the manager came by to check on us when one person in our party didn’t finish his plate. The biggest complaint we had is that we stood at the door for more than five minutes waiting to be acknowledged and seated. We also had to wait quite a while to have our waters refilled. Would totally come back, though.

Been at the restaurant seated for 27 minutes and have not gotten any bread, drinks or any attention.
Our server was awesome! She was very attentive and willing to accommodate our demands.
The food was good, if you want accessible, cheap seafood then this is your place.

Saw an ad for this place in the Epoch and came here with the Princess for lunch. The place is very roomy and decorated nicely in a nautical theme with open kitchens in the back and raw and liquor bar in the front.
The service was impeccable. Our server Alvin was very friendly and made sure all our food was up to par and was more than happy to give my free Unilocal check in shot. I got Kamikaze and it was great. The manager even came over to check on us.
The food was also quite good. We split an app of Mussels and shrimp in a spicy tomato broth. It was full of nice sized mussels and delicious shrimp. It also had broccoli and a few garlic toast points for dipping in the delicious spice, garlicky tomato sauce. The Princess loved this dish and wants to make it her main next as she mentioned to me again this morning.
For our mains we both went with the lunch special Seafood Gumbo. It was a rich very spicy broth with clams, shrimps, okra and sausage served with a mound of rice. Not as good as the app but still a pretty good dish as I am an okra fan.
I look forward to coming back for the happy hour oyster specials and the lobster.

This is probably one of the best happy hour oyster bars I’ve been. The bartender, Julius, makes great dry martinis; perfect to taste a good gin with the right amount of vermouth and not get it all watery.
Good location and bar atmosphere, near the 6^th on 33^rd.

Similar to The Boil, this place will satiate your seafood fix. First thing that drew my attention here was the $ 19.99 lobster deal that came with corn on the cob. Then it was the décor. It has a nice nautical theme and I was surprised there wasn’t more people in here, granted that it’s on a side street. Anyways! We sat down and all the seafood tempted us. So we ordered the lobster special with additional clams in garlic butter and one of the combos of snow crab legs with clams (food partner). You can choose the level of spicy for the Cajun style. They also give you gloves and all the tools you’ll ever need to crack these shells open. Okay, sooooo let’s talk food. This place doesn’t earn the fifth star because the flavoring could be improved. The garlic butter was a little watered down and the Cajun was overly seasoned. Other than that, it was good eating!

I was pleasantly surprised by this seafood restaurant located right behind the Empire State Building. My stop coincided with a late after-​work lunch on a Sunday, and on the whole it was a very positive experience.
The bartender Alvin was awesome. Friendly, attentive and provided some great suggestions for food and drink. Ain’t gonna lie — he was easy on the eyes too. I was hangry (y’all know what that means), so I ate for real:
1. Half dozen raw oysters on the half shell (East coast Blue Points): Fresh, cleaned and presented well, although not as briny as I would have liked. Nice plump meat tho. :D
2. Lobster mac & cheese: My life has been redefined after eating this thing. It looks AND tastes amazing. The only thing that would have made it out of this world is an option to add BACON. For real. They use a mix of cheeses and a most excellent, rich bechamel cheese sauce. Brava. (I took the rest of it home and it still tastes amazing after the fact.)
3. Lobster roll: It usually comes with cajun fries, but I asked for greens. The greens were meh, they could have a better selection. I’ll try the cajun fries next time. But the lobster roll was overstuffed with fresh lobster and tasted wonderful. I loved it.
According to the bartender, the other popular dishes are the gumbo and their mixed seafood boil. One of the other patrons got the big seafood boil and when they opened the cover, OMG… the SCENT WAS AMAZING. I wanted to go over there and jack his grub… and I had JUST finished eating.
Last but not least, YES they have happy hour (and a $ 1 oyster happy hour YAY!) with reasonably priced drinks. Alvin was also a whiskey aficionado and we had an interesting convo about the newly popular spirit.
I had a great time and will definitely go back. (Oh, and they have a cool Unilocal special for checking-​in!)

Came for dinner and had bags of shrimp with potatoes and chose the garlic sauce. it was nothing special and the shrimps were maybe overcooked as they weren’t easy to peel. i like places that include andouille sausage along with potatoes but this place didnt. at the same time there was a lobster special for $ 20 but it took a while to come out and wasnt as tasty or sizeable as it is at burger&lobster

We originally came across this place while doing some holiday shopping in the area. We had already eaten so opted to indulge in a few oysters. Although it was a Sunday evening they still had some special happy hour going, which was great. The bartender was very friendly. I did notice that the restaurant was a bit strange as it really is a sit down restaurant but there doesn’t appear to be any set hostess area, so the bartender will likely be the first person that you speak to.
While there during the first visit, the smells coming from the individual «boils» enticed us. Trying not to be greedy we decided to return for a second visit. This time we opted to eat at the bar. Something about the tables was a little less inviting and the bar offers the full menu.
We went from an oyster appetizer to a great bag filled with lobster, shrimp and crab. You basically create the meal that you want by adding individual pieces to your order and selecting the sauce and spice level that you are comfortable with. You are in complete control.
Another perk for some is that they have several televisions throughout so this can totally be your game day option if you love to eat seafood while watching.
I’m a fan.

Went in for the first time during the week when it wasn’t so busy enticed by their $ 1 happy hour oysters. The one star goes to the setting of this restaurant and the friendly staff. First ordered the calamari which came in an awkward funnel looking cup that you would normally pick fries out of. What annoyed me was that it came with a side of sauce that you know damn well wasn’t going to cover every single ring. You need at least 4 of those little cups to be able to enjoy every dip and bite. We were told that the oysters would take a while because it was HH but the place wasn’t packed but it didn’t matter because I was busy with the calamari. They arrive and I start to eat.
Bits and bits and bits of broken shells in all of the oysters. The waiter was nice but clueless to noticing our mission in picking shells from our mouths. Normally I would have said something but after a long days work, I was too tired to get into it with anyone so I sat there in suffering silence. Calamari, dozen $ 1 oysters and 2 Coronas $ 47 with tip. Wasn’t worth it at all. The oysters weren’t as fresh as they should have been and the shell bits didn’t help either. Unfortunately I will not be returning.

Affordable Cajun. Nice and clean. Greta music playing. Staff is great. Julius took care of everything for us. Generous drinks poured and the fried oyster poppy was delicious. The Cajun burger was good but a tad on the spicy side is have asked for milder spice. Delicious nonetheless. The aioli dip was TO DIE FOR as were the fries.

Amazing time at the bar with the happy hour. Alvin our bartender is awesome because he tried to get to everyone by himself. He made happy hour amazing! Definitely a hidden gem for happy hour. The oysters are fresh but could be more plump. For $ 1, I can’t complain. Mermaid pilsner for 6 bucks? Awesome! Coors and landshark for $ 4. The French fries with truffle aioli was amazing! I would eat that all myself if I can!
We then moved over for dinner service within 5 minutes and they made the transition from bar to table with ease. We had combo A and B with the garlic butter, both mild and spicy. I like the spicy. We also tried the crab cakes which was more crab than fillers. I recommend it! Then we finished with crème brûlée and bread pudding. I recommend that the restaurant either have an crème anglaise for the bread pudding or have the two dessert merge as one. The bread pudding wasn’t sweet enough to be a dessert and I’m not crazy about overly sweet stuff.
Overall, I would be back to the bar and be served by Alvin. Remember to check in for your free shot!

The food was excellent and the service was marvelous. As a southerner I don’t hold back when giving my opinion about how someone’s seafood taste… The seafood here taste GREAT! It was well seasoned, cooked just right and plentiful!

A few of my girls and I met up for dinner on a Tues night so not too crowded. It was Ladies ‘Tini Tuesdays for something like that, $ 5 for a variety of yummy martinis. They also have a regular HH of the usual house wines, draft beers, dom beers, etc but I forgot the prices.
They were running a $ 19.99 special for 1 ¼ lb lobster served with clarified butter and lemon. Needless to say, we ALL jumped on that. It was decent and def cheaper than area eateries in the 2^nd most touristy area of NYC. I also took full advantage o their $ 1 oyster of the day HH which is from 5pm till 8pm. Fresh and clean! and also select alcohol HH. Our server Ricardo I *think* was attentive and prompt. The maitre came by at one point to check on us.
Too bad I forgot to redeem the free shot on check-​in tho! Def will do so when we return for the actual boils & Creole offerings that we intended on feasting upon, but was sidetracked by the awesome specials!

Researched a bunch of places to grab grub on a Sunday night and this place looked interesting. My friends & I made reservations for three and soon realized it was unnecessary as Sundays were completely dead. The restaurant itself was very spacious and designed well. I noticed they had a happy hour going on on a Sunday with $ 1 raw oysters (great pro). Also saw that they had a Unilocal check-​in deal for a free shot (lemon drop, kamikaze, vodka/​peach schnapps, well shot, & etc) so that was a nice perk we enjoyed.
We ordered the $ 40 — Combo A Cajun/​Mild [lobster, shrimps, sausages, corn, potatoes] & $ 45 — Combo B Cajun/​Cajun [king crab, clams, sausages, corn, potatoes] & $ 15 — calamari for appetizers. The calamari itself was ok… Nothing special as it seemed slightly disappointing for a seafood spot. The boil combos however were really fresh had a good portion of meat (for lobster/​crab) but the cajun seasoning was a bit salty itself. They should consider having pasta thrown in there (been to another boil that offers this) to balance off the extra sodium as well as fill up our stomachs a bit more.
Overall my meal was decent and the service was ok (friendly waitress but we struggled to grab her attention a couple of times). Would I come back? Possibly but not anytime soon.

Sports on 3 screens, music over the speaker system, modern marine oriented décor, and very good drink and seafood deals.

A harsh 2-​star is what they deserved.
It’s brand new, and the décor is cute sea style. It’s also a little higher end than most of the Cajun restaurants that I’ve been to.
The food: it’s really just ok. The crawfish is plain even though the juice was salty. I had multiple shrimps that were half (only the head and a small part of the body) which means it’s not fresh. Each combo u ordered, there were supposed to be sausages in the bag, we ate about half and didn’t see any so we told the waiter. He wouldn’t believe us… We had to went through the whole bag for him and reluctantly, he brought two slices, TWO! on a small plate…
I like how they hv all the tools for u, as well as the coverups.
The worst thing is that they charged a mandatory 20% for tips, and we were a 2-​ppl table!!! Who does that!!! You’re not a high end restaurant. And the receipt that you sign for, doesn’t have that indicated there. See picture.

OMG definitely a fan! And Unilocalers rule, again! I needed an alternative to The Boil since I found out they don’t open for lunch on weekdays. I didn’t think I would find anything but I did find this newly opened restaurant in midtown and I was there before you know it. And guess what, I came back for a second visit within one week. It is THAT good. And they offer gloves!
First of all, it is a brand new restaurant so everything is clean and brand new. The open kitchen, the bar, and décor, and the tables are all so new and clean.
I was here for lunch both times because I read from Unilocal that dinner time can get a bit crazy. They have an extensive regular menu plus a lunch special menu ($ 10.99). From both visits, I have tried the followings:
1. Shrimp with cajun sauce (mild) $ 16 per lb
2. Jambalaya (lunch special price)
3. Lobster bisque soup $ 8
4. Cajun fries $ 7
5. Crème brûlée
6. Caesar salad $ 10.99
7. Bloody mary shooter $ 7
I particularly enjoyed the lobster bisque soup. I highly recommend it. Crème brûlée was also good but it is your typical crème brûlée so nothing too out of the ordinary. The jambalaya was also good.
Now, I would like to comment on the actual shrimp entrée with cajun sauce. I ordered it mild both times because I wanted to be able to taste the actual cajun sauce flavor instead of being overwhelmed by the spiciness. To me, the mild level was lacking a kick. I think this could possibly be easily fixed by combining the cajun sauce with the garlic butter sauce. I remember my first time trying a similar restaurant to this was in San Fran where I ordered the «Whole Shebang» sauce. I liked the Whole Shebang sauce better than this Classic Cajun because I think the San Fran restaurant added butter to the sauce mix. It definitely boosted the flavor. If they could offer an option to combine Classic Cajun with Garlic Butter (and if this is even a possible mix), it may be better.
Also, it would have been better if they offered straws to our water cups. That way, we wouldn’t have to take off our gloves so often to grab our cup to drink water.
I surely will be back (again!) soon. Not 5 stars just yet because our server (during my first visit) made a minor error on our orders. We ordered Jambalaya but that never showed up on our table. (See photo slideshows as proof.) However, when we got the check, we were still charged for the jambalaya. I told our waiter about this mistake and he was confused for a second because he did ring in the order, but I guess the kitchen got busy and forgot the order. Our waiter was nice and took that item off our bill. (On my second visit, I did order the jambalaya again and finally got to try it and it was good!)
Still, both waiters were so attentive to my visits. The second waiter (I think he might be French) was clearly new but he was so kind and friendly. He checked on us multiple times and it was clear that he was actually really nice.
Also, added bonus — super clean bathroom — a true «rare find» for midtown. Although the upstairs bathroom light bulb went out when I visited the second time.
It is a bit hard to spot this place while walking in midtown. I think they should have a better or more obvious sign to attract more customers other than their HH/​specials standing signs. Actually, ignore my last comment because I don’t want to have to wait in lines when I come back for another visit.
