Welcome to Classical Pilates NYC, a.k.a. Enja Schenck — Pilates teacher and teacher-of-teachers. Enja is certified by the one and only Bob Liekens and worked by his side for 8 years. Her expertise is the deep, makes-you-smile, full range of classical Pilates. Her clients are as diverse as classical Pilates is adaptable: M.S. patients, persons with chronic and/or acute conditions or injuries, athletes and Pilates teachers who want to advance their advanced repertoire.
Over the years Enja has earned several specializations, such as working with movement impaired clients and the rehabilitation of many types of spinal conditions.
I’m looking forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your health and fitness goals!
Meet the Business Owner
Enja S.
Business Owner
Under Bob Liekens’ guidance Enja became teacher-of-teachers in 2009, a year-long program that enables her to mentor Pilates apprentices and teachers. Enja teaches workshops to Pilates teachers and fitness professionals in Pilates conferences and fitness industry summits. She was the Basics of Anatomy teacher-of-teacher for Power Pilates in NY state and developed several workshops, most notably the 8-hour lecture Injuries and Pathologies.
Enja currently studies Exercise Science, M.S. at Brooklyn College. She also studied with Irene Dowd and Leslie Kaminoff, both renowned movement anatomists. Enja trains regularly with master teachers Jerome Weinberg, Cynthia Shipley and, of course, Bob Liekens. She also tries to catch elder Jay Grimes whenever he’s in town, as he has become a strong second influence for her teaching.
