Coco Fresh Tea & Juice

When I asked the kids what was the ONE thing they wanted to do on their very first trip to NYC, they both immediately said — Coco’s! Not the Empire State Building. Not the Statue of Liberty. Coco’s. This is because the kids have spent much of their childhoods in Taiwan, where Coco’s is their favorite bubble tea chain (which is pretty impressive given the intense competition) and when they found out NYC was one of the very few US cities with Coco’s, it was a no-​brainer that it rose to the top of the list.
So on a rare gorgeous clear cool day in October, after walking the Brooklyn Bridge to Brooklyn, and then the Manhattan Bridge back to Manhattan, we rewarded ourselves with Coco’s in Chinatown, which is located within walking distance of the Manhattan end of the Manhattan Bridge. (You should Google map the walking directions if you are unfamiliar with the area — you have to do a bit of a odd loop to get there). Coco’s is consistently wonderful — great strong tea flavors, perfectly textured boba, and the ability to tailor the amount of sugar and ice. (For reduced sugar, ask for your reduction by percentages — 70, 50, 30 or none.) My favorite is, and always will be, passion fruit tea with no added sugar and tapioca balls.
And once you are done with your bubble tea and you need to go, there is a bathroom in the lower level of the mall across the street. There’s a key hanging on the wall in one of the restaurant stalls that you can take. It’s marginally clean and there’s no TP, so bring your own. But hey, at least you can pee.

There are a lot of bubble tea places in Chinatown but CoCo is one of the few that I’d go to. They sometimes offer promotions like buy 1 get 1 free which makes it extremely cheap for you to get some bubble tea for yourself and a friend. The bubble tea here doesn’t taste like powder like some places do.

Matcha lattes were so overly sweet we felt sick and dehydrated 50% through drinking and couldn’t finish. Must not be much matcha either since the sugar crash makes you ultra sleepy.

My girlfriend absolutely love this place and the price is very good.
Love the option to choose level of sweetness.
We usually always get something when we pass by.

*lemon aloe drink (I don’t think I can get used to aloe drinks; however I did enjoy the flavor of the lemon tea itself)
*lemon dunk (pretty much a lemon iced tea but definitely quite refreshing; not sweet like American style iced teas)
This place is small but has a large selection of milk teas, fruit drinks, coffees, etc. Everything is made fresh so the drinks are quite crisp. Not a bad spot to have in Chinatown.

I always wanted to try Coco, and it happened to be on my way to the shady Chinatown bus nearby. I figured a drink would help make my bus ride less miserable, but of course it was too good to be true. I bought the jasmine milk tea ($ 3.25, no topping) with 30% sugar/​less ice. While other Unilocalers thought the drink tasted undiluted, it tasted like watery milk with subtle hints of jasmine to me. Maybe I caught them on an off day, but with other options in Chinatown, I can’t say I’d come back unless I was in the area.

Got a classic milk tea. The price was reasonable and service was quick. The tea itself was quite good and the bubbles were chewy.

Their signature drink coconut boba milk tea is really good and very generous with the scoop of boba. I asked for no sugar added, I rather have the natural sweetness from the coconut. Service is fast and cheap.

I’m in love with the Coco… Coco bubble tea that is. My go to drink here is the classic milk tea with boba. The tea here is always fresh and consistent in taste. The tea is never watered down like a lot of the other bubble tea joints in town. I highly recommend Coco if you are looking for a refreshing pick me up. They have a lot of different flavors and selection to choose from. I’ll be returning soon.

I love CoCo so much. My favorite bubble tea place in Manhattan hands down. Their bubbles are perfectly chewy and the right texture. Their drinks are made exactly the way you want it; I always ask for it only a little sweet and no ice and it comes out perfect. They also don’t skimp on the toppings. My fav drink here is the fresh milk with bubbles and grass jelly. So creamy! Recommended. :)

torn because the drink was fine and dandy — you can taste the quality in the milk green tea. however, the service was so darn slow. theres one person working the register and then one person making the drinks cup by cup. the person in front of me ordered 8 cups so it was backed up for a good 10 minutes!

Everything they serve is artificial. Almost all drinks are made from instant powder. To top it off, the drinks suck! There’s usually one person working there. If someone is ahead of you, be prepare to wait 15 min for your drinks.

Got a classic milk tea with pudding in medium size for $ 3.25 (tax included). I liked that they can seal even hot drinks with the plastic film so it doesn’t spill out if you don’t plan on drinking it right away.
Maybe it was just me but there wasn’t that much pudding in it? And I think the milk tea was a little lacking for me… it was quite mild and didn’t have that depth that good milk tea should have. Maybe next time I go I’ll try a different drink if I happen to walk by. But if you’re going to get milk tea, I’d say go somewhere else for it.
Although I’d say if you’re coming with a friend for drinks and aren’t too overly picky with your flavors, they do special «two medium drinks for $ 5» type of deal. Although the 2 drinks that follow the promotion are picked in rotation by them, so you have to buy those two to get the deal.

Making my trek from the hotspots of Chinatown, I felt thirsty and thankfully spot this small but new milk tea joint. There was no line when I went, so I promptly made my order to a young friendly cashier who answered my questions on drink choices. Decorations are minimalistic but clean.
I got the sweet black tea with milk foam on top and it was delish. The milk foam/​cream is actually a little bit salty, but it goes so well with the sweet tea on the bottom. You have to mix the two up as it doesn’t mix automatically. You can also tell the cashier to control the amount of sweetness you want in your tea. I got half sweet and that was perfect. Highly recommend this drink in particular!

Came here last week and got a pudding milk tea. When I got out the door my bag ripped and everything spilled, I was like shit! So went back in and ordered another one. When I was about to pay the guy said it was free. What a kind young man.

Great place for bubble tea. The bubbles tasted fresh and had just the right amount of softness and chewiness. They had a lot of toppings/​add ons, however their menu of slushes were limited offering only about 4 kinds. I thought the black tea was good but a bit on the sweet side I didn’t see a sign whether or not the percentage of sugar can be adjusted like other places.
The shop is bright, modern and appears much cleaner than most tea places in Chinatown. The a/​c was on full blast on a hot summer day!

Coco is a Taiwanese bubble tea chain. There are several locations in New York City. This one’s located on the corner of Division and Eldridge Streets, just a block away from under the Manhattan Bridge. The neighborhood is pretty grimy and this store is small, although there is a small standing area with a counter. I would say that Coco is one of my two favorite bubble tea chains. I walk by quite often and find that no matter the day of the week, there is always some sort of special going on. On one day, there was a two small $ 5 special on any style drink with any topping. Other days there were $ 2 large drink specials. You’ll just have to go to see what they have. The great thing about Taiwanese-​style bubble tea is the multitude of toppings on offer. Just pick one from the overhead menu or point to the one in the case that you find interesting. Overall, Coco is good and consistent, no matter where it’s located.

So addicted to this place! I’m normally not a huge fan or bubble tea, but this place is just amazing. The tapioca isn’t that great, but their flavors are awesome and the menu isn’t too overwhelming like most bubble tea places.
Take a trip inside and give it a shot. They give you a ton of tapioca, grass jelly, pudding, etc. They aren’t cheap with that stuff. So far, this is my new favorite bubble tea place!
