I have no problem with the mani-​pedi I received, good work. The attendant, however, is another story. First she gave me change back like I was giving her a ten instead of a twenty. Fine, maybe an honest mistake. But then when making the correct change she handed me back a much too small amount. It was then I realized she had just palmed a very generous tip for herself, more than 25%. Excuse me, we are tipping ourselves with the customer’s change? Don’t fall for the «sorry sorry» feigned oriental giggling; she was sharp enough to pad her pocket very well. If you go for their services, I suggest you bring exact change and keep your wits about you.

Fast, no frills. Got a gel mani and a pedicure. Pedicure was done very nicely. Manicure was mediocre. The same person did both for me. For the manicure, my nails were not shaped in the proper square style that I wanted — the lady confirmed with me that I was going to get square nails, but she gave me the roundest «square» nails I’ve ever seen. She also seemed to keep messing up and ended up redoing several nails without doing a base coat. The location is clean and nicely renovated though.

It’s no frills. But the fact that you can always walk in without an appointment and be taken care of within 5 minutes is pretty amazing. And their prices are incredibly good for the neighborhood, where normally everything is marked up. The $ 19 mani/​pedi special can’t be beat.

Antonia hooked me up, fast and professional I don’t need much more for $ 21. I was in desperate need of a pedicure, she did a great job, I’d revisit her again. Was it plush by no means but clean enough.

I was just walking by and figured I would try this place out. This is your basic no frills nail shop. The salon is rather small and it needs to be updated. There were not many nail colors however I found a color worth getting. Anyways I am giving this place a four star based on how well my nails look today. Exactly a week from the date I got them done and my nails have not chipped. I got a manicure and pedicure. And my manicure looks fresh. I am the worst when it comes to manicures I usually mess them up within days and to my surprise I haven’t completely messed these up. I am not sure if I would go back but if I am in the area I might just give it a try.

Came here because it’s close to school and across from my exercise class. I was in a rush and wanted my gels refilled and a polish change on my toes, so I didn’t really look at the nail salon. When I sat down I noticed it was dilapidated and definitely needed some renovations (or at least a fresh coat of paint). It just seemed dirty (I noticed cobwebs in the corner). I was the only customer in the salon for a few moments and then it began to get busy, so they did attend to me quickly. However, I was extremely annoyed with the fact that I entered the salon at 12:15 and did not leave until 1:45. In no way shape or form should it take an hour and a half to do a polish change and a gel refill. I have been getting gel manicures/​tips for over a decade and know how long this process should take — and it should not take that long. I was even more annoyed because two of my nails smudged later that night.
I would not recommend coming here until they do a serious upgrade and become more efficient.

This is a very basic and kind of worn off place however the price and the service are very reasonable. The mani/​pedi are about $ 21, which is probably the cheapest you get around the city. I have been going there for a number of years and my nails always look great. I would recommend this place if you want a fast and cheap service however if you are looking for a relaxing experience this place might not be for you.

Basic, no-​frills nail salon that I frequent because it’s close to the 9^th Street PATH and on my way home from work. I’ve only ever gotten a mani, which is $ 8, not including tax.
My manicures last about a week if I take good care of them. I’ve never had to wait, even on a summer Friday after work. They always have colors I want to try. Also, they will fix mistakes for you: last time I was here, a young woman came in with a gel manicure that chipped after a week, and they fixed the three chipped nails for her, no charge. Great policy!
Reliable, clean place. Definitely recommend.

i naturally do the waxing for my lips. they have a special which is 36.99 for medi and pedi with a 20 min massage and 1 free wax of eyebrows or lips.
the owner here needs to chill out they look so mean, all the time its not that serious.

Nothing special, but my mani cost me 8.60 & it’s still hasn’t chipped 5 days later (which is a surprise). I guess if you’re in the area and want a cheap mani, this isn’t too bad of a choice. Doesn’t look too clean though so I wouldn’t be doing a pedicure here or any other services.

Not even a good mani pedi for $ 21. My technician was very rushed because the manager was staring over her the entire time trying to get the next customer in the door. It chipped within 2 days which has
never happened to me before. They were rude and rushed,

I use to come here before or after work since I’m only a 5 minute walk. I like that they have a wide variety of colors and are up to date with them. The space is not large, I almost always had to wait before I was seated. They always did a nice job on my fills ins, manicures, and pedicures. The reason why I give this place 3 stars is because of the customer service. The owner is always very nice and friendly but not her staff. They’re very blah and I’ve had on numerous occasions them telling me how much to tip them! are they for real?!? That was shocking and annoying, and I won’t be returning.

I usually have a great experience when I come here. I’ve never had to wait for an available technician, but I usually go in the evening or near closing time. And while they may not be the friendliest girls on the block, I don’t have any complaints about their technical prowess. In the past, I’ve gone for their mani/​pedi special but tonight I decided to treat myself to a regular pedi/​gel mani (only $ 45!) and I’m very happy with the immediate results :) Now we’ll see how long the gel lasts!!!

I was close to giving this run-​of-​the-​mill nail salon a 5 for the very reason that my shelac manicure lasted almost 3.5 weeks without chipping! For real! It was probably just luck but I’m not going to argue. It was cheap, like $ 24, or something like that. This is your average nail place, but they do have a wide selection of colors, reasonable, clean enough, and very impressed with my shelac mani!

4-​Star rating adjusted based on low price. It’s not luxurious service, but clean, comfortable, efficient and friendly enough. For $ 21 plus a $ 4 tip, I got a decent manicure and pedicure, sans extras, which they’d have been willing to do for various extra charges. I’ll go back when I need to get done quickly and cheaply, and am not looking for the total pampering spa experience.

Summary: This a $, not $$ place. $ 19.99+ tx ($ 21) for mani-​pedi. Good color selection. Fairly clean. Very busy. If you do a price adjusted service quality scale, this place gets 4stars.
The Place: While it’s tiny, they manage to have 4 pedi stations sand 4 mani-​stations. I arrived 1 hr before closing and everyone was working. There were 6 people hard at work. If you’re going with a friend, it’s fairly obvious that even if you have an appointment, you could experience a problem on timing. Given the location and price they get a fairly large number of walk ins. A set of guys that came in got tired of waiting and left after 20 minutes. Yes, it’s a churn style place. The chairs work, though a bit fussy to get them to massage perfectly. It’s clean though.
The Price: So Cheap! he $ 21 all in gets you a little bit of foot massage. They also have a loyalty card for a free mani after $ 10 visits. You can get mani-​pedi packages, 5 mani-​pedi and 10 mani-​edi packages that include massage the like, that offer a discount on the already cheap price. Additionally, it’s 15% off with a student ID, 20% off on your birthday (you got to check what you’re allowed to discount.
The Services: My technician Tina was very thorough. They are all Mandarin speaking folk at this place. I was quickly seated after choosing colors. They did a thorough job cleaning both nails and feet. It’s true what Lauren F. says, they have very strong hands. If I had more time, I would have had her do a massage. As it was, I arrived 10 till 8pm and finished mani pedi at 910pm. A little longer than normal, but nails are still looking pretty good at end of week. Very minor chipping, which is amazing feet as I type a lot due to work and non-​profit stuff.
Finally, they have a $ 13 credit card minimum, which means if you’re getting an $ 8 mani or $ 6 polish change, you need to bring cash.

This place is owned and staffed by the same exact ladies as Queen Nails just one avenue down on the same street. Prices are comparable too, about $ 25 for a mani/​pedi on weekdays.
Don’t come here expecting a luxurious experience or exceptional customer service, it’s more of a get-​in-​and-​get-​out type of place when you need to prim your nails in a hurry. I personally find that every experience I’ve had here varies depending on which woman works on me. Sometimes the filing is a bit crooked, sometimes the paint job is less than perfect… but sometimes that’s what you get for $ 25.

Went for the $ 35 mani/​pedi + 15 min massage special and was pleasantly surprised. Great manicure, pedicure was a tad short (but totally fine), and massage was amazing. They definitely have strong hands so make sure to mention if you dont like a «deeper» massage. You can’t beat the price for what you get.
Will definitely be back!

Despite being «lured in» by the $ 19.99 (+ tax!) manicure/​pedicure combination and despite tipping the entire staff over $ 5, it was medicore experience :(
First, when I arrived at 8:20/8:30 pm, I got the distinct impression that the nail salon was closing/​about to close/​officially closed — the technicians were all running around, washing the floor and surfaces — and wiping everything down with towels. Even so, not ¹⁰⁄₁₅ minutes after I started my manicure/​pedicure, two other women walked in and started their nail treatments. So, clearly they were not closed.
The technicians also managed to make me feel like an imposition — they started working on my hands while I was in the pedicure chair (so I was not able to sit back comfortably and relax (I do have a tricky back, I know), and I couldn’t actually sit back enough to feel the massage chair working. Also, they tried to get me to pay extra for a heel wax ($ 5 more) or for a massage ($ 5 – 10 more). Note: neither of these things is «extra» with a $ 20 manicure/​pedicure at May’s Nails on 14^th Street, NYC or with the $ 30 manicure/​pedicure at Park Nail in Brooklyn.
The end result of me having to sit forward and have my hands done at the same time as my feet resulted in a poor cleaning/​nail job and a similarly lacking pedicure — there was no base coat below the main polish on my toes and my fingernails looked ragged and undone, even after she worked on them for almost 10 minutes.
At the end, my fingernails still had a faint ring of old nail polish around the edges (which is still visible and causing the base/​cuticle area to peel off! :(.) and I had so many bubbles in my polish on my hands that I had to say something (I was heading to a date; it wouldn’t have been cool to show up looking so sloppy). The woman who did my manicure/​pedicure, despite the big tip, acted very «put upon» — saying unkind things to me and being very rough with the re-​polish of the bubble covered nails.
In the end, it was an OK price, but I’ll stick to May’s Nails and other salons where I don’t feel like an unwanted intruder.
