It is my first time using Cook Unity. Im going to just point out the main things.
Time: It was on time. Arrival was between 5 and 530PM. They arrived 515PM… Quick and efficient. The tracker they send you doesnt work. ¹⁰⁄₁₀
Presentation: The compostable box and bags were great. The main dinner box held a good portion of food and looks nice, neat and organized. All of it arrived in a big brown bag.
I asked for utensils and I thought they would give me forks and such, but they gave me a big stirring spoon (like the one used for cooking)… That confused me.
There were clear instructions on how to reheat the meal which was good. 8.5÷10
Food: I had the lamb shank with kale and roasted potatoes and beets with feta cheese as an extra side. I thought the shank didnt need any more extra sauce they gave as well. It was fine the way it was. The potatoes were great, soft and rich. The kale was WAY TOO SALTY for me. The beets were great. They also included FIVE desserts, 3 brownies and 2 cookies. Not sure if that was a mistake but that was really kind of them. Maybe it was because it was towards the new year? ⁹⁄₁₀
Price: Its $ 14 a meal + $ 3 delivery fee + $ Tax = ~$ 18. As a first time user, I only paid the delivery fee… which was nice because I got to try it out for a «discounted» price. However, overall, $ 18 is a bit pricey for me for a meal so I most likely would not order this again, but it is a good alternative to «outside» food.
Id say try for a change but not for ~$ 18.

Perfect! I’m not a fan of tilapia but this meal was incredibly delicious, delicately yet flavourfully seasoned, and came with a good amount of sauce and grilled vegetables. Very happy.

Cook Unity is a very welcome addition to Seamless and food delivery. Have tried a number of the dishes and really like most of them. Ingredients are generally really fresh. The entrée usually comes with a side (grain or veggie) in the same container and then another side/​salad is given as well. Sauces are usually placed in a small container with the entrée, nice to have the option to add or not and adjust quantity.
Am beginning to identify the chefs whose style I prefer and will often order by chef vs dish per se. A lot of the vegetarian dishes are really good — give them a try! I have even tried the kids dishes: o)…Note, a number of dishes sell out quickly.

For quality and convenience, CookUnity’s on the right track. Their dishes are tasty, and in my last order I had the most moist cookies. Their packaging is eco-​friendly (it’s a trend, yes, but for many it’s a rule). No wasteful utensils or napkins. When I order through competing services I always get napkins, even when I say no!
Their coverage area and times have improved since they first started in New York, which is fantastic. They’re not available for lunch — yet.
If their price points were a smidge lower, I’d order more often. But when I do order, at least I feel like I’m getting a pretty good value.

CookUnity meal arrived on time and we actually saved it to have for lunch the next day. It also came with a delicious moist chewy chocolate chip cookie. I ordered the Braised short ribs
with buttermilk mashed potatoes. The short ribs were tender and tasted perfect. The mashed potatoes were okay. It also came with glazed carrots which were a little too undercooked for my liking. But overall the meal was very good, completed and totally satisfying!

I’m a huge fan of this service, which I order exclusively through Seamless. The first time I ordered this meal for a late work night is the last time I ordered from any other restaurant on Seamless.
First of all, these meals tend to be very, very good. Generally, the flavors and pairings are creative and subtle. The chicken tends to always be tender and juicy, and the other meats and veggie dishes are generally well prepared and designed as well. The calorie count is on average actually surprisingly low, given the generous (though reasonable) size. It’s also very reasonable for the price ($ 12 or $ 14 per meal depending on whether it’s veggie or not, and $ 10 flat on Fridays), especially given that there’s always an additional, separate cold side *and* a little treat (one per dish, except when they forget, which is on occasion, and traumatic).
I appreciate CookUnity’s effort for the foods to be sourced organically and locally when possible. Especially when it comes to fish, I’d appreciate an even greater focus on sustainably-​sourced fish. I’d also be interested in dishes that were designed with an eye to sustainability (e.g. using seaweed, or invasive species, or particularly sustainable fish like sardines, etc.). Maybe that could be part of the Funky Fridays series where cooks try out different dishes.
Overall, I have been raving about CookUnity to all my coworkers (and beyond) to the point where I think they might suspect I’m getting paid for it. (If only.)
Also, for what it’s worth – I’ve occasionally had to call in to ask about a meal’s arrival, and the people who answer the phone have always been very competent and responsive.

The delivery was prompt and I enjoyed tracking my meals (thanks for this! brought excitement to me every time I tracked). They also have the nicest delivery guy in NYC (for me).
I admire the environment-​friendly meal packaging. The meals prepared with personal touch is a very good concept. I ordered Rosemary Crusted lamb chops and it was ooozzzing with flavor! The texture, the taste, it was an immensely satisfying meal!
Will definitely be a regular customer :)

Tried CookUnity for the first time on a Funky Friday special and was so pleasantly surprised. The delivery and presentation could not have been more charming. I ordered the Corn and Poblano Pepper Lasagna with steamed kale. It arrived in a container tied up in twine (so cute) AND it came with a brownie in the shape of a heart and also a bamboo spatula! These little extras made my night.
Best part: the lasagna was incredible! The best meal by far I have ever had delivered (and there have been many). Loved the service. Will be a regular customer.

Love that I can have a yummy home cooked meal delivered to me, pretty much on demand. You can tell care goes into the ingredients and cooking process, as well as the presentation. Glad they added nutrition information to their website… now they just need to add sodium and sugar content to it.

Give CookUnity a try. They have different specials everyday and each dish is healthy, unique, and filling. I got a free dish through a Unilocal Elite deal and loved it. It was steak, brussel sprouts, and a chocolate chip cookie, and even completely-​ignorant-​in-​the-​kitchen me was able to warm it up in the microwave lol. Ordering was super simple, and what’s more is that you can track the delivery person as they approach you (a la Über). I hope they expand into Queens soon.

After trying many meals I still like the convenience and punctual delivery. I have not been wowed by all the meals though. If you are lazy and don’t feel like cooking this is great. The deserts have been meh. Got same hard brick like rice crispy treat 2xs in one week, or tiny flavorless choco chip cookie. what happened to big salted caramel choco chunk cookie? Market side salad is lacking (a hand full of baby arugula and maybe a few onions or a cherry tomato.) and that seems to be the only side they send lately. Some of the things I can get from local delivery cheaper and, well just as good if not better. I will say some of the featured chefs meals are better than others.

I ordered my first meal this week and it was very good and my husband, who is rather fussy, liked it! We had grilled shrimp with mashed potatoes. The shrimp were large and very tasty and the potatoes were delicious. Communication was excellent and preparation was very easy. I would have liked the salad to have a little more variety; I added vegys to it. I also added string beans.
I was not crazy about the rice crispy treat for dessert but I see sometimes there are cookies. I will definitely order from CookUnity again.

Cookunity is a fantastic way to get local, delicious, and reasonably priced gourmet food delivered to your door, in just 30 minutes. I would recommend that you order earlier though because their popular dishes have a tendency of selling out. My food arrived on time and the delivery man was very nice.
I ordered the grilled shrimp with yucca mash. I liked that it came with a summer salad — a refreshing mix of watercress and arugula with a red wine vinaigrette. The entrée was easy to heat in the microwave (in under 2 minutes). Portion size was large! I had 7 jumbo shrimp and a hefty portion of the yucca. All dishes were flavorful. They even included a chocolate chip cookie with my meal.
All in all, I had a wonderful experience with cookunity and look forward to ordering from them again soon.
Just wanted to note that there is usually a small delivery fee.

Tonight I tried cook unity for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. First of all the website was super easy to navigate and after salivating over the meals for the past two weeks I finally ordered a dinner. I chose the grilled shrimp with yucca mash and a side salad. There were 7 huge pieces of shrimp and it was well worth the mere $ 14 price tag. I received a text when the meal was ready and another when it was being delivered. The deliveries times are to the half hour. I asked for 5:30−6 and mine arrived at exactly 5:30.
Food: I already mentioned the shrimp but it should be noted that the simple side salad was a nice size and filled with tasty greens. The yucca was appropriately seasoned and the shrimp was perfect. I did not know it arrives cold, but has easy instructions to either microwave or bake the dish (yes the container can be put in the microwave AND the oven). Mine also came with a little treat which my sweet tooth needed.
What can I say other than NYC is lucky to have something so fresh and healthy delivered right to our doorstep at such an amazing price. I just wish I could order it on weekends.

I read all of the reviews for Cook Unity and was really excited. Unfortunately, I did not have a 5-​star experience like the rest.
Ordering online was straight-​forward and very easy to do from iphone. Deliveries are within half-​hour increments. They do not deliver to all neighborhoods, however, so I had mine delivered to the office.
Upon delivery, or my supposed delivery, I received a text notifying me that the delivery was on the way. It was being delivered via Über (supposedly). I kept refreshing the Über screen but it would not update with the delivery ETA… also, it had the delivery going to a different location. I was getting concerned but thought maybe there were multiple deliveries. My time frame was 5 – 5:30. Around 5:15 I receive a call asking for a person not with my name. The Über delivery man had no idea about my delivery and was at a different address. Getting late I called Cook Unity. The first call ended after 2 rings. Tried a few minutes later. The person on the phone was pleasant but confused about what happened but assured me my delivery would be there in a few minutes. Delivery man called upon arrival; he got there around 5:25.
I was pleased with the delivery. Delivered in a paper bag, with a cute sticker sealing it shut. Salad in a container, meal in a microwavable container and a surprise cookie. Everything was nicely presented. Instructions were clear on heating the meal.
I felt the meal really lacked in flavor and creativity, much to my dismay. The salad, titled «summer salad» was all arugula a few pieces of onion and packed with a dressing that seamed to be mostly olive oil, salt and pepper. The amount of salad was decent, but I couldn’t finish it, I just do not like arugula in that quantity, with nothing to pair it with.
The entrée was shrimp with yucca. There were 6 large shrimp, generous portion. However, the sauce that I was supposed to drizzle on top was strictly olive oil; I chose not to use it because I don’t need more oil added to the dish. The yucca potatoes. were potatoes. They weren’t seasoned, and definitely did not need the olive oil as they were greasy enough. They had a gluey consistency, and I knew they were mixed with cream which I didn’t need the added calories, I didn’t finish them.
The chocolate chip cookie was a nice surprise but was also lacking. Thick cookies, looked like the type from levain but definitely not in flavor or consistency. Too much dough, not enough chocolate.
I really was excited for this place and not sure why my experience wasn’t like the rest.

Just tried Cook Unity last night for dinner and was impressed on all counts. Great communication via text about delivery time, prompt delivery (30 min windows yay), delicious food. I had the seared skirt steak with white bean purée which unexpectedly came with a side salad and cookie for dessert. The quality of the food was definitely restaurant level and beyond your typical delivery service. Thumbs up!

I don’t know how they do it, but the quality of the food cannot compare to other delivery options… Whenever my boyfriend and I order it, we know it’s gonna be a good meal. I’ve recommended to all my friends, and some of us even have a tradition that we always order on Tuesdays :)
Oh and on top of everything else, the food is really healthy but hearty, can’t get any better than that

Easy as Seamless, except the food is healthier and tastes much better. 2 meals by 2 different chefs are featured daily. Prices are reasonable and include an appetizer, entrée, and dessert.
Professional service, extremely punctual. I had ordered the food for 8 – 8:30pm and it was here at 8 pm sharp. I even received a text that allowed me to track my food so I knew exactly where it was en route. No more anxiety about when the food will arrive!
Food was delicious. Everything came nicely labeled, with heating instructions. Appetizer was a baguette with herb butter, entrée was a NY strip steak with all organic produce, and cookies for dessert. The meal was made from scratch the same day.
I will definitely be ordering in from here more often :)

I got a free meal coupon from the Unilocal Elite peeps, and used it immediately to order a baked salmon with faro dish for dinner that night. It was easy as pie to order, got delivered exactly on the dot at the beginning of my half hour slot, and tasted great! I baked it for a bit in the oven, and then devoured it — perfectly cooked salmon, nutty faro with fresh veggies and roasted pistachios, a small light salad, and a big cookie for dessert. Well done, CookUnity. I’ll give your goods a try again sometime.
