Dee’s Pet Food

I have been a customer of Dee’s store for over a year now. I appreciate that they carry all of the «specialty» foods for my grain-​free, chicken-​free pup. They are also very accommodating with delivery (I live in Bed-​Stuy, yet they still deliver to me!). All of their employees are sweet and knowledgeable. They’re also very patient and willing to search through all of their offerings for the right item for your pet. I would give Dee’s 10 stars if I could.

They are very nice and very friendly. I love supporting a local, down to earth, friendly, NOT corporate store. They have LATE hours. The downside– they’re not open early on the weekend. Apparently they only open at 11am now but it used to be 9am. Also, they really don’t have everything you could think of like a superstore. A nice hole in the wall with the essentials. If you want something special ordered, they are so happy to accommodate. They treat their customers really really well.

It’s a funny thing, Dee’s is not big and shiny and fancy. Frankly it’s a hole in the wall, crammed to the gills with bags and cans of pet food. There’s lots of dust and a general air of barely organized stock.
And yet. When you walk in you’re greeted with a hearty hello and a big smile. Ask a question and it will be answered cheerfully and thoroughly. Looking for something and can’t find it? They will locate it.
It’s good to have in the neighborhood still small businesses like this one that aren’t slick but know how to take care of their customers. They have a wide selection of dog and cat food, treats and grooming products. They deliver!!! Which is fantastic if you’re not into carrying a 25lb bag of dog food back to your apartment 5 blocks away. And their rewards program is good. I signed up on a recent visit, got 10% off my next purchase all while earning «points» which eventually get you $ off purchases.

5 times now I have come during their supposed hours and the door is locked and no one is there. I mean, come on. If you promise delivery, hire a delivery person, otherwise do not freaking deliver during the hours you are supposed to be open.
I love to support small businesses, but sorry, I’ll do Amazon or drive to park slope to go to Petco now.

Love Dee’s pet food! Great local pet food store with high quality pet food. They have a great rewards program, I get two to three texts each month with discounts. The owner is super friendly and helpful and will order specific food for you if he doesn’t have it in stock. I work late so also love that they are open late.

Great local business! The owner couldn’t be nicer — we always chat when I come in, and she remembers what brand of cat food my cat eats. There’s a good selection of nicer brands of pet food (dog and cat) in the store, but she’s also willing to order anything you want special and it comes in pretty fast.
She’s also open pretty late on weeknights, which is great.
Definitely stop by and check it out! It’s right by Covenhoven, just south of the Jewish Hospital apartments on Classon.
