Specialties
Come celebrate the flavors and spirit of the Indian home at Devi, where we have recreated authentic regional dishes and introduce new classics to be enjoyed in a warm, sumptuous setting. We take Indian food beyond simple take-out curry and turn it into gourmet cuisine to be appreciated and enjoyed, with such signature dishes as tandoor-grilled lamp chops with pear chutney. Our carefully selected wines compliment the food perfectly, and our friendly and attentive waitstaff will ensure you have a memorable experience.
History
Established in 2005.
Cookbook author Suvir Saran who is a reputed authority on Indian cuisine started this first ‘Haute’ culinary venture in Indian cuisine in North America. Devi was the first ever Indian restaurant in USA to have had a Michelin star for 2 years.
Meet the Manager
Kunal L.
Manager
Food & Beverage hospitality runs in my blood, says Kunal Lamba. Quite literally so, as the son of a New Delhi restaurateur came to New York from his hometown via a stint in London.
Starting with ITC Maurya Hotel Delhi, and then running Gaylord London (the grand daddy of Indian food there), his further quest for travel got him into the US where he started as a F&B Manager at a Doubletree Hotel in New York but realized the real food buzz in Gotham city is not in hotels but on street side abodes of delectable cuisine like Devi.
It was Devi where he felt at home and that is evident in the way he runs his dining room. Do ask for him and let him plan your meal there. The man is good at what he does!
