High prices & bad attitudes. When I asked, in a very friendly way, why the price I was quoted for a particular brand name drapery rod ($ 100) was almost twice what I’d seen it for online, I was told they couldn’t help me & hung up on. They might have explained that they have very high overhead in Gramercy & I would have understood (I live here!) & actually bought the item because I wanted it & appreciated the convenience of picking it up around the corner versus waiting for delivery. And I like supporting small local businesses & am willing to pay more to do so. But they were so rude, I had no choice but to order online & save my money. I literally laughed. I had planned to check them out for upholstery, bedding, etc. but no more. I got the sense they don’t deign to bother with small transactions & did not perceive me as a potential big ticket custom client (who cares about $ 100 vs $ 50??) So if it snobbery you’re looking for… this might be the place for you. Otherwise, ABC Carpet & Home, just around the corner, offers beautiful things & lovely service… for all.

had a horrible experience. feel i was lied to on price quote and timing. took longer and cost more than i was quoted. unprofessional.
