I work in the World Financial Center and am very sad today not to be able to get my Monday Chicken and Wild Rice soup anymore because THEYCLOSED! I will miss eating here often… if the owner is reading this and wants to sell me the recipe please let me know, I LOVEDTHISSOUP!

I wish I had read the Unilocal review prior to choosing Donald Sacks for lunch, because I would have avoided this place. The poor reviews are true… the sandwiches are only decent and are overpriced for what you get. They serve purchased potato chips instead of something fresh. It is one of the few places that I’ve been that didn’t offer a free refill on iced-tea(at least the waitress told me this before refilling it and charging me). On top of this, it was really bad service. In hindsight, there are other choices that looked better and I would recommend trying something else nearby.

Can you give zero stars? Quite possibly the worst meal I’ve had in Tribeca/FinDist. For all of your sake,(I’ve already had to suffer the meal), think twice about this place. it’s 8 dollars tax included with a soda. Sounds good right? My Chicken sandwich was a LETTUCESANDWICH. Not to mention the horrible dressing and terrible wrap job they did. Yes, its quick and convenient but do yourself and your stomach a favor and eat elsewhere. You won’t regret it. 0 stars for terrible food, no value as my sandwich was more than overstuffed with just filler lettuce, and the fact I had to PAY for this meal. major yuck factor. :(:(

Oh Donald Sucks — it’s been over a year since we’ve been together. But with the promise of a year apart and my company footing the bill I had some semblance of hope. Then you crushed it. My boss took 10 of us out to lunch and no one, NOONE, had anything positive to say. The«awesome lobster bisque» was far from it. Seriously, you can’t label something as awesome when it has the consistency of gruel. The shrimp and bean salad was like $ 17 and had a total cost to make of about $ 2.(beans, lettuce, corn, and dressing, and three shrimp, conveniently halved to make it look like six shrimp). Oh, we got a pie of pizza that made our cafeteria pizza taste gourmet. as for me, i tried to go with the easiest dish to do well. I got the penne pasta special, which was penne, mushrooms, shrimp and truffle oil. Abundantly mediocre and something a child could make, except that it cost $ 20 for a bowl of penne and four shrimp. Truffle oil isn’t expensive. By the end of it, everyone was a little downtrodden. I keep telling people, Donald Sucks sucks even when you’re not paying. They still don’t get it…

This place deserves zero stars. If it was not located in the World Financial Center were there are so many office workers held hostage and tourist who don’t know any better, this place would have shut down within months of opening. The food is SO bad I consider it UNEATABLE. To add insult to injury, it’s so obscenely overpriced. I ordered a meatball parm and to my shock, the cheese was waxy, and meatballs were like sawdust. I have made meatballs from a generic cookbook and they turned out great. I’ve gotten frozen meatballs from a supermarket in a plastic bag that tasted better than Donald SUCKS.

Wow. Not the best place to eat your first sit down lunch on your first day of work. Had a 8, 9 dollar sandwich. Mozzarella with tomato and basil and vinaigrette. The mozzarella was grainy. The tomato was grainy. And the vinaigrette taste like someone had stuffed it in an old sock and let it rot for a year. Seriously the worst sandwich I had ever eaten up to that point. 1 star for being paid for Revisit? Hell no

Eating options in WFC are pretty limited, but Donald Sacks stands out as the worst. Awful sandwiches, awful pasta, and UNBELIEVABLY overpriced. I’ve only been there for lunch — lunch price for a club sandwich(simple turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato) is $ 14! Same price for a cheeseburger. Also tried their meatball parm and a BBQ chicken sandwich which were two of the worst sandwiches I’ve ever had. This place makes Subway seem gourmet, only at triple the prices.

Good prices for a soup and sandwich. Convenient if you work at WFC area. I’ve tasted better, though. Convenient it is. Lines can be long, but move quick.

I used to work at WFC, and like others have mentioned, the food is not too appealing. Ive ordered many small dishes during happy hour and the only special thing about the food has been the high price. The only reason why Im giving it 3 stars is because this used to be the starting point for happy hour after a long day of work, and the bartenders were always friendly, attentive and always made good strong drinks. The interior of the place is nice as well, but for the price there are better places.

3.5 stars. My review is based on ONE dish that I really like here… their squid ink seafood linguine!!! I sometimes even had it more than once a week. What can I say… I’m a big squid ink fan and they served me well for those countless lunches /dinners I had at WFC.

I agree with peter d. Unfortunately, I work in the WFC, which must have the worst per capita/decent restaurant ratio of any area in NYC. Because my lunch options are so limited and bad, I have found myself at «Donald Sucks» on numerous occasions, despite the fact that the food is mediocre at best and *absurdly* overpriced. I mean, almost $ 20 for pasta with red sauce that tastes like airplane food. Of all my terrible reviews of various WFC eating establishments, I think DS is the worst. I am convinced that this place would have folded years ago if it were located elsewhere. However, the combination of tourists who don’t know better and WFC workers with no options has enabled them to soldier on. I will throw one star because the waitstaff is always friendly.

I used to work over in the WFC, and the restaurant options are pretty limited. We had a welcome lunch for a colleague, and we’d all been to PJ Clarke’s, Southwest, etc. So we ended up here with about 8 people or so. NOBODY liked their food. Seriously…8 different things ordered off the menu… everything ranged from not good to disgustingly inedible. One or two awful meals could be chalked up to an off day, or poor ordering, but all 8? I think that it’s entirely possible that no one ever eats there, and all the food that was served was weeks old. This place is lucky Unilocal forces us to give it one star. Actually, they have a 2 for 1 beer special on some afternoon, I forget when. Maybe Thursdays. So there Donald Sacks, take your one star. P. S. I feel bad that there’s only one other review here… it makes it seem like I’m directly disagreeing with him. I’m sorry buddy, but we clearly had different experiences.

Donald Sacks is a pretty good lunch take-out option at the World Financial Center. The sandwich and soda deal includes a fairly delicious sandwich(usually the hot sandwiches are the way to go, other than the curry chicken salad) and a can of soda for $ 7.50. If you want to get fancy, go for the soup and sandwich deal for $ 8.50, but you don’t get soda anymore. That’s okay, just bring your own. After that, mosey on outside(if it’s warm enough) or to the Winter Garden and enjoy your meal. Just remember that the Winter Garden tables go bye-bye when there are performances and the security guards are real dicks about using benches as tables.
