Very reasonable prices for the neighborhood. The menu is extensive and includes salads, brunch foods, pastas, traditional entrees, and cheap alcohol options. A bottle of Chardonnay is $ 25 — what a steal! This area used to be price-friendly, until all the trendy, expensive brunch spots infiltrated the neighborhood. Fiat Café is a place to eat and drink with friends without breaking your wallet. The food is good and the service is extra friendly. 100% recommend!

A funky little café on Mott Street, minimal effort at trendy décor, small, toilet is downstairs, hardly any kitchen space and they don’t take credit cards. It reminds me of what downtown was like before it got gentrified. I love the place. The most expensive design element here is their neon sign. Come here with no expectations of a culinary masterpiece. Sit and enjoy your coffee. Its always calm and off the tourist radar. Prices are reasonable. Service is good since it’s only five feet from the kitchen to the tables. It’s where I go once a week for a breakfast omelet – which they graciously cook to my specifications. If you look at previous Unilocal reviews you can see that people either love it or hate it. As I said, I’m in the former group. But I look at dining/drinking as an experience to be appreciated in context. In this case the atmosphere enhances the experience. I can almost imagine I’m sitting in a run down café on a small side street in Trastevere in Rome – almost.

Came here with my friends looking for desserts, especially of Panna cotta, ’cause it is my favorite Italian dessert. And it was amazing. I liked it. The place is really small. Our waitress was friendly and try to did her best to satisfy us. Except desserts we ordered Pappardelle Pasta and Bucatini Matriciana. Pasta was good.

I created a Unilocal account just to rate Fiat Café. I have been coming here for around 2 years now and I continue to love it. I have only ever dined in, so I can’t speak to the delivery issues described in other comments. The pasta at this place is the best in New York — always fresh, warm, and delicious! It’s also the closest to what I have had on some of my Italian adventures. The servers here are also very kind. I have always had at least one of the two female regulars who are attentive and nice. The service is a bit slow, but you can always ask for your check, etc. if required. Isn’t it a nice thing to not feel rushed in Manhattan for once? I always bring my out-of-town guests here since it takes them off the beaten path and I know they will love it. The reason I am finally writing a review is because of an event last evening. Our wonderful server accidentally dropped a butter knife while cleaning our table. We honestly thought it was harmless and would have forgotten about it, but the server bought us dessert on her! I was blown away(not to mention how good it was). She really didn’t have to do that, but did it anyway. I don’t know if it was because she felt bad or she recognized us as regulars, but that was a very thoughtful gesture that I have rarely encountered around these parts! Go to Fiat!

Favorite place, been coming here and bringing friends from out of town for five years because of the cozy European atmosphere and great value. Dishes are super affordable and you get a huge serving of food, which is always delicious and never disappointing. The quality of service depends on how busy it is, but I’ve worked in food service myself for several years and i know it can be very challenging, so i try and treat my waitress with extra kindness and patience and she does the same for me in return. Will continue to come here for as long as I live in the city, and can’t wait to try the Park Slope location!

ZEROSTARS. PLACEDIDNOTDOANYTHINGFORMEEXCEPTWASTEDMYTIME. I WASJETLAGGED, HUNGOVERANDHUNGRY! I seriously wanted to try this place out for brunch on a Saturday morning. However, when I called to make reservations for a party of 3. I was put on HOLD after I had spoken w/the female hostess(via phone) w/a broken accent whom took my name down and then she put me on HOLD once again. What for. What was the point of taken my name down, putting me on hold for… If you didn’t have a table in half an hour or an hour then don’t bother wasting my time. I was patient enough to wait. It is not brain surgery to figure out if you have a table within a certain time frame.

Im never disappointed here. Whenever my friends and I want a casual, quiet and nice Saturday or Sunday meal we come here. Living in the neighborhood, it’s hard to find a spot thats not over run with people who take pictures of their food or loud tourists. Especially during brunch hours. But this place has great prices, good service and never a long line. It’s small and cosy and authentic. The servers are super nice and the food is great. I just had the carbonara for the first time and as someone who grew up in the South of France I can say it was some of the best I’ve had in the city. Super authentic, down to the how the pasta was cooked and the raw egg left on top. Serving sizes for us are always good. You don’t leave feeling stuffed or over full or bloated like at other places, you leave satisfied, which to me is better than a large portion or anything. The food speaks for itself. It’s just the right amount.

Not the best service and food here. I honestly would not come here again. As a matter of fact, my family and I came here for brunch because the wait for Café Gitane near by was over 45 minutes. That’s why we decided to just randomly pick another brunch place. The fact that there was no wait for this place should’ve set the alarm off but I guess we were too hungry. This place is small and cramped. No matter which table you’re seated at, you will feel like you’re elbowing the stranger next to you or the stranger behind you is on top of you or will be in a minute or two. The tables don’t look too clean and let’s get to the utensils and water cups. They were so dirty, I had to give one of the cups back to them and ask for another one. I was scared to drink from the cups. Another group came a few minutes after us and was seated behind our table. They were served iced water and bread with olive oil immediately. However, for you, who came before them, got nothing. The water came after that. But we were really hungry and kept wondering if we were going to get some bread to munch on while waiting for our orders(we ordered already and still no bread). We kept looking around and I guess we made eye contact with one of the waiters and that’s when maybe they for the hint. The bread came but it was some hard and stale bread. We ordered the salmon eggs Benedict, Pappardelle pasta, and a Linguini fini pasta. We only ordered three things for four people because we plan to eat something else after this(obvious that it wasn’t going to satisfy us). The salmon eggs Benedict was $ 9.50, rather cheap, so I knew I wasn’t going to get the best thing out there. It was rather small with salad and no fries! I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more for that, and would’ve made the dish look nicer/presentable. However, the Pappardelle pasta was extremely flavorful and just a tadbit salty in my opinion. I really liked it though, it had shitake and oyster Cremini mushrooms, and duck with truffle oil. Truffle oil can make anything taste good and it went really well with everything. The linguini fini pasta was alright, quite a lot of clams and seafood in there. The pasta was a bit hard for me personally. But it had a good taste because of the garlic(big bits on the bottom). Although it took them forever after I asked about the Unilocal check in for a free dessert, they did end up honoring the check in and we were given the Coffee Pannacotta(yep you don’t get to choose a dessert). It was alright, I would pass if I had to pay $ 5 for that(price on menu). Three stars because at least I liked their Pappardelle pasta and linguini fini pasta.

I got delivery so maybe it’s better in the store, but the spaghetti and meatballs was really not great. Meatballs were a really strange texture and the sauce was really thin and flavorless. Their food looks really good in the pictures I’ve seen here so it’s possible I just ordered the wrong thing, but the spaghetti and meatballs are a nah.

Food was pretty good. The poached eggs were on point. The serving sizes are small so you may want to order a side with your meal. I did not like the mimosa. It wasn’t very cold and it tasted like emergenC…

Do not come here. Got off work and decided to grab a bite with my parents. Food is meh and service is awful. They put tax ONTOPOFTHETIP. Is that even legal? It’s also cash only, so I’m pretty sure they just pocket everything lol Free«dessert» with check-in is a pudding cup. Save your calories and go to Rice to Riches around the corner if you’re really craving dessert.

Fiat café is the cutest Italian restaurant ever! The small size accommodates around 20 people at most, but that is what makes it feel homely. The food is also amazing. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara and eggs Benedict with salmon. The pasta had the perfect balance. It wasn’t too powering so you could never get tired of it!

Delivery arrive very fast, about 30 mins wait only! French Toast– a bit dry, but still okay. Spaghetti with Anchovy and Black Olive– a bit too salty and dry, but flavor was my favorite out of the 3 dishes we ordered. Linguini Fini Pasta– I’m never a fan of clam pasta because it’s too plain for me. But we decided to try since everybody on Unilocal recommended it! Quite disappointed, a flavorless dish… Duck Confit Pappardelle– flavor was good but the noodle was too soft.

Cute little Italian café. My bowl of pasta was good. I had the fresh cavatelli with broccoli rabe and hard ricotta with the sausage added on. The hard ricotta was a nice touch, though fairly salty. The sausage was tasty and complimented the pasta well but for costing an extra $ 3 there wasn’t all that much of it. The rabe was great! If you’re a fan of slightly bitter greens, that is. Excellent service too. 4 out of 5 stars… except… the bread. The free bread served at the start was most definitely stale. I’d say at least 3 days old. It was obvious they re-heated it in hopes of making it last. But I bake a lot of bread. You can’t hide it when it’s old. On bread alone, Fiat gets 1 star. But luckily there’s more to this place than bread. Cash only.

I came in for brunch by myself this past Saturday and after waiting ten minutes, in which nobody said anything or even welcomed me, I left. I wouldn’t mind waiting to be seated or even told that they couldn’t take me, but the servers just brushed past me numerous times without a hello or a «I’ll get to you in a minute». I understand that they were busy(the place was fit to bursting), but there was a small table in the corner perfect for a single person and I know they don’t take reservations for brunch, so I don’t know what the deal is? I went somewhere else for brunch, which is sad because I heard so many great reviews about this place.

I found Fiat Café through SeatMe and came there for a Saturday brunch with a friend. It has an extensive brunch menu with something for everyone and very reasonable prices which is why I chose it. Ambience is casual so great for meeting a friend but the space seemed a bit small for groups larger than 4. I ordered the oatmeal which was very hearty and generously portioned. It’s not as sweet as most other oatmeals, and the texture was more soupy than cereal — like. Overall a good value for my money. My friend got the salmon bagel which she liked. Overall a safe choice for brunch.

This review is regarding a delivery order. The pappardelle pasta was delicious! Every bite was a little bit of joy. However my order of Kale ceasar salad had hair in it! I saved my salad for the next day… The worst part of it is that I didn’t see the hair until I got to the end of my salad. F***ing Gross! I was gagging the whole day. SMH… When you try to be healthy and shit like this happens. I added an extra star because of the pasta.

First of all, I’ve made a reservation a week in advance but my husband and I still have to wait 25 minutes before we get to be seated. It wasn’t ideal to sit beside the entrance door, especially during a cold winter day like today — feel the cold breeze of wind each time someone opens the door and getting bumped over as this is a very small place. We ordered the ‘Prosciutto and Melon Cantaloupe with fresh mint’ as appetizer — the bread was too big and hard, however they’re really generous with the meat. Overall taste is not bad. My husband had the ‘Linguini Fini pasta with baby clams, pancetta, garlic and a touch of crushed red pepper’ as his main course. It tastes really great! They were generous with the baby clams and this pasta keeps you wanting for more! I had the ‘Pappardelle pasta with shitake, oysters, Crimini mushrooms, duck confit, ragout and finished with truffle oil’ for my main course. Don’t recall having any oysters in the pasta though it was listed in the menu, but overall taste is pretty unique for a blend of duck and mushrooms. Due to the long wait for a table(despite with a reservation) and our main courses arrived approximately after another hour wait, they apologized gave us free desserts. We had the tiramisu and chocolate mousse. It isn’t the best tiramisu we’ve had but definitely isn’t the worse either. Chocolate mousse was somewhat disappointing. Overall experience isn’t too bad but I would not recommend this place for large crowds of party due to its small place. However the food is definitely worth coming back for!

Something about this cute little brunch spot I just love! It’s so NYC, yummy, fair priced, and cozy. A very small place, I warn you, and sometimes the wait can be really long(no reservations for brunch)…but there’s so much to do around this café that I always end up coming here for brunch whenever I’m in SoHo or nearby. My friends who have visited us in NYC loved this place as well :) Their pasta is delicious! It’s a casual place that’s great when you’re around the area looking for a cute little brunch.

Relatively cheaper prices for brunch than most places. I came here because popular places like frieda, eggshop, etc were full and certainly did not regret giving this place a try. I shared the proscuitto panini w/arugula, salmon benedict, and the complimentary dessert that came with the check in on Unilocal. Everything was delicious, however the one thing that broke my heart was that the eggs in the benedict were too overcooked and had one sad drop of yolk come out. It’s not a good benedict unless there’s a hot, gooey mess! Otherwise, I loved the strong coffee flavors of the panna cotta that were not too sweet & the crispness of the panini. The waitresses were super smiley and nice as well. Love nice people with nice food.

This place is super cute! Came here for dinner with two pals on a Thursday night. The servers were really nice, the food was seriously amazing(I had the pappardelle with duck confit and it TASTEDASGOODASITSOUNDS), we split a tiramisu for dessert which did not disappoint, and it was just super cozy and we ended up chillin here for like, hours. And it didn’t get crowded at all in spite of it being small and fantastic. A well-kept secret. THISPLACESUCKS; DON’T COMEHERE.(Get it?) Sopra la panca la capra campa, sotto la panca la capra crepa!

My friends and I decided to try this place randomly and we are so glad we did! The place is super small but the wait time was not that long(definitely deserve some browny points for that esp in NY!) Waitresses are super efficient and they really make it work in that small place. I’m sure they’re super stressed because of busy it gets but they were super duper nice! They seriously have the best service My friends and I ordered 3 different pastas and they were all so goood! Being an Asian and all I sometimes think pasta can be too oily(?) but the pasta I had here were tasteful without being too much. When you check in you get free dessert! That was amazing as well :) Loved the whole experience here!

Had the pappardelle, it was GOOD. Solid food, generous with toppings. Friendly service, cozy seating. Docking one star because it’s cash only, which is absurd given it’s not a hole in the wall; it’s a pretty legit establishment so I find it strange that they’d enforce that. Certainly will impact my decision for lunch options…

This place has become our goto spot so quickly in last few weeks. Came across Fiat café while exploring Nolita on a Sunday. We decided to try it for brunch. They have pretty standard fare which they serve almost all day around. Since our first visit we have come back here quite a few times for lunch and dinner. Everything we have had here is great. Personal favorites are the veggie panini, pancakes and penne pasta. This place offers everything under one roof great service, nice ambience, good food. The prices here are very reasonable which is very uncommon in a trendy neighborhood like nolita. It’s a small cute place which is great for a date or a relaxed brunch or dinner with friends. The staff here is awesome very courteous and super friendly.
