Four Points by Sheraton New York Downtown

Not happy with this hotel. AC doesn’t work tv doesn’t work. Had a maintenance guy come up to look and he used a hair dryer to defrost. Asked for another room and was told there was none available. Defrosted AC only worked for a few hours. Called the front desk this morning and was told a supervisor would call. Still waiting 45 minutes later. Not what I expect from a Sheraton. Very unhappy. Bed is very comfy but had a horrible sleep as room was hot and stuffy. Staying for two night. We’ll see what the day brings.
Management moved us to a king corner room as an upgrade with working AC. Room was a little bigger but not a big deal. Still dissatisfied with lack of options on our first name night and can only give 3 stars.

I booked a conference room for a meeting for 10 at the last minute. Everything was perfect! Mandy was super helpful and flexible.

Honestly this hotel was great, the location, the staff, the room (somewhat).
Cons include that the room was not properly cleaned. Upon checkout we inspected every inch of the room to make sure that we did not forget anything. We found dried up spaghetti noodles behind the bed… we had not eaten spaghetti the duration of our trip. The ceiling had what appeared to be ketchup. Also no mini-​fridge so be prepared to throw away any left overs.
I would stay here again, but would check the room first to make sure it is indeed CLEAN!

The hotel and room were very clean, almost sterile in fact. The quarters are somewhat cramped, however. I had a hard time finding a place to open my suitcase since there isn’t much room on the floor. The television, bed, shower, etc, are all nice and comfortable, and all of the outlets including the built-​in USB outlets work well.
One thing that was a little annoying is the lack of a mini-​fridge. I don’t understand a hotel in this price range not having a mini-​fridge in each room. NYC is a food town, and you can’t take anything back to the hotel with you because there’s nowhere to store it. Very disappointing.
The location is great. It’s a five minute walk to lots of places in the financial district, and there’s never a shortage of things to do. There’s plenty to eat nearby, and the restaurant downstairs, Ketch, is not bad at all, and the kitchen is open until 11:00pm.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay.
Pros: Location, convenient amenities, working electronics, clean, contemporary.
Cons: Cramped, no mini-​fridge

Comfy bed and pillows. Coffee maker in the room. Hairdryer in bathroom. Free WiFi. Daily housekeeper. 2 free Dasani water bottles daily. No bathtub, swmming pool or hot tub, fridge, microwave, parking. Front desk staff are friendly. No charge for 1PM late check out. Close to many attractions.

This place is apparently only 2 months old but the room we stayed in was starting to look a tad dingy, or maybe it was just poorly made. The hotel seems to be Eco-​friendly. We stayed here for a weekend and the room was quite small and felt too congested for my taste. I was a bit claustrophobic. I was looking forward to the fact that it was new and an SPG brand but it didn’t really do anything for me, it was clean, lacked a mini fridge and microwave. The toilet paper holder was mounted in an awkward space against the back wall of the toilet which made it hard to grab toilet paper and that was annoying. The ice machine was broken all weekend so we had to keep requesting ice from downstairs. My worst issue was the thermostat, we just couldn’t seem to get the heat going and it was cold the whole weekend. I woke up shivering and in pain the morning of check out. The staff here are friendly though.

I got a great rate, probably because they had recently opened, but I’d return and pay more. Overall very happy with my experience at Four Points on Platt.
The Four Points brand advertises itself for the business traveler, which means you’re not going to get a lot of the amenities as at a resort place. To my mind, it was everything I needed and nothing I didn’t. Good wireless, free coffee in the room and downstairs in the morning, a well-​appointed though cramped work area and supremely comfortable bed. I highly recommend the «Corner Queen» which is scaled for one person or a very friendly couple and makes you feel like Walter Chrysler sitting on his toilet at the top of the Chrysler Building.
I also want to say something about the location, for those who are not super-​familiar with Manhattan. I come to the FiDi to see a client and it’s convenient to stay in the area even though it’s not the most exciting. Last time I stayed was maybe 3 years ago and at night it was dead. It was near impossible to find a place open to eat. Now the streets are teeming and there are many salaryman places that stay open to serve the new population moving in. There are even people walking dogs! (Where do they poop?) The hotel is also close to the water and the Brooklyn Bridge so it’s not strictly a FiDi vibe.
I will be back, and looking forward to it.
P. S. There are multiple Four Points hotels in NYC and I want to be clear, this is the one on Platt St in FiDi, NOT the one in Times Square.

Having stayed in shared dorm rooms in hostels, I don’t consider myself a picky person when it comes to overnight lodging. But I do expect more from the SPG brand than from a hostel because I’m paying a higher price. Now, this is Four Points and not the W, so I wasn’t too upset to see the shampoo, conditioner, and soap administered from a dispenser rather than getting the freebie bottles. However, I was surprised when I jumped into the bed and did not get any bounce back. The bed just did not have any cushion, and was unpleasantly hard for a bed. No heavenly bed at this Four Points. And I was very unpleasantly surprised when I couldn’t control the room temperature. I like to be warm when I’m sleeping, but I spent a full 30 – 45 minutes shivering under the covers before I was warm enough to fall asleep.
Otherwise, my experience met my expectations for the SPG brand. The lobby was decorated nicely, the staff were polite, and there is a gym. In addition, the hotel is brand spanking new (opened mid-​February). Ultimately, I would stay here again, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

Just opened so they have a lot of work to do. Elevators weren’t working, heat wasn’t working, no fridges, doors were broken, and the shower pressure sucks.
Good news was that the staff was very pleasant even though not knowledgable of the area yet. The rooms are hard wired nicely and brand new TVs have great resolution. Decent size for Manhattan.
With Fulton street station right down the road it is easy to access the city from here. As it is tucked away you will need to order ubers as cabs will never just be hanging out on the street.
With a good rate would stay here again.
