The first thing to know about the Q&A is that it’s a residential hotel. The amenities are not the same as in a major chain hotel. There’s no room service. You can’t call down to the front desk for something you’ve forgotten, etc. As long as you know that your expectations will be appropriately set. The building itself is gorgeous. If you’re an architecture geek like me you’re in for a treat. The building drips with art deco details both inside and out. Apparently this used to be the HQ for AIG Insurance Company until 2008. Bar none, this is the largest room I’ve ever had in Manhattan. Everything is new right now and very clean and sleek. Thoughtful touches like dimmable lights in the bathroom, USB charging ports near the bed and plenty of closet space make it comfortable for longer stays. The staff, especially Sasha and Marshall, were incredibly welcoming and kind. If you have business in the financial district or just prefer to stay in the area it’s a terrific value and an overall excellent stay.

I recently stayed this weekend at the hotel. It is brand new and in the Financial District. As a matter of fact the studio I stayed in, I was the 1st guest to have that room. The hotel is in a still being remodeled 40’s era building in the Financial District. The staff could not have been more attentive or nice. Everyone introduced themselves, including the manager on duty and even the Hotel Manager herself. I had a chance to interact with various staff members during the weekend and each was as helpful and pleasant as the ones I had met before. Thanks especially to Sasha, Johanna, Bryan, Jacob, Gerald and Tomaz. I checked in a couple of hours before the 3:00 time since I had Broadway matinée tickets. I left my bags with the check in desk. I was told to stop back in to get my keys after my show and collect my bags. When I came back, my bags were already taken to my room and waiting for me. A member of the staff escorted me to my room. This was one of the largest studio rooms I have seen in NYC. It comes complete with a kitchen area that includes an oven, dishwasher, sink, microwave and refrigerator and freezer.(One word there isn’t an ice machine yet in the bldg — so check if your trays are in the freezer if you want ice). I asked about that and while there wasn’t a machine, the front desk offered to go out and get us a bag. The cabinets are stocked with dishes and some basic cookware. Part of the hotel plan is to be a residential hotel, and with this set up you could easily stay for extended time. There are even white robes in the closet to make you feel like you are staying at home. There is a limited Continental Breakfast in the Business Center on the 3rd floor. It included croissants, danish and assorted muffins, tea and coffee. There is also a section for computer access as well as printer and even basic office supplies like paper, pens, and even a stapler. The rooms range from studio to Office suite and prices vary so def check on their website for rates and promotions. There is discounted parking available with a local garage but ask for details I am already planning a trip back in January for a friends birthday and I will definitely be staying here!
