Hornblower Cruises & Events Pier 40

We brought over 80 people on the boat for a work event, and had such a wonderful time. Planning the event was seamless, and Jennifer promptly answered our questions and helped us facilitate. The cruise itself was SO much fun. The music was great, food was good, staff was friendly, and the multiple bars accommodated a big group. We didn’t have to spend time waiting on any lines. The views were awesome. We passed Lady Liberty and went through all the bridges. I’d certainly recommend this for anyone!

My husband and I went to the dinner cruise at Manhattan and it was amazing!!! The food was good, the waitresses were nice and helpful. The cruise was unforgettable!!! We loved it! If you have a chance to go, choose a good weather and enjoy!

I did not take a cruise or a tour: i was looking for the entrance to the INSIDE of the Oculus
and KG (Kenny) was more than helpful! HE could not have been nicer as he guided
me toward the area and I promised him that if i ever DID want to become a tourist in NYC
I would come to him. It is really something when someone goes out of his way to help:
It was a hot day, he was busy and yet he was kind enough to show a Senior where to go.

Meh. Don’t get suckered in. Read the travel guides and don’t pay $ 40 for a tour. The only thing that’s different from the Staten Island Ferry is you get to do a donut in front of the statue. Save your money and buy a foam crown instead.

Great boat ride, and spectacular views. Try to get on the bigger boat, its more modern and a lot more room. Food was very good and tasty, and not large portions. Do not overdress! I showed up in the suit, and was the only one there. Enjoy it!

I’ve done these out pier 40 before, and this was the first time out of Pier 15. Gets 4 stars because its always a good time and great views of the city. The missing star is because two main things. #1 The boat left almost 25mins after 9pm, came came at 11:40. Not that crazy but #2 was. #2 The drinks are expensive, $ 14 for a vodka cocktail and $ 7 beer cans, yea i have dealt with NYC prices but the bartender on the upper level was just straight up robbing people. I was buying $ 7 beers all night and tipping him, i went back for 5 beers and he was charging me $ 40. ($ 7×5= $ 35). I was like NO, its $ 35 because you been charging me $ 7 per beer all night. He was like well now its $ 40, i went back and said why $ 40? He was like «its $ 40 now!») i didn’t want that to ruin my night so i gave this guy his $ 40 and walked away. No tip and no more drinks bought! Really annoyed me and honestly it killed my mood.
Still 4 stars since i cannot kill this experience by a naïve and unethical employee.

Me and my bf bought a deal on pulsed, and went on an unlimited champagne and food brunch tour around the Statue of Liberty. It was a great experience but let’s just say the musician was much better at his job then the chef was… Shout out to one of the omelette makers, the other one, not so much… you know who you are. lizbeth, our waitress was awesome and even came up on the deck with us to take pictures. Mediocre food and cheap champagne, but good music and a great view of NYC.

The best tour I’ve had visiting New York. I enjoyed the food, the scenery, the service, and the program. I was really concerned that my little one will not have any food since he rides free. The reservation specialist actually made arrangement to reserve a serving of children’s meal. When I got to the dinner cruise, I realize how much food they give you, and even without the children’s meal, we would’ve been ok. The boat went slowly around the Hudson and I got to see the day and night view of New York.
The entire cruise is about 2.5 hours which is just right. Overall, the BEST tour program I’ve had in New York.

This is a rip off. Beware of the agents. Nothing they tell you is true. If they say it is a 20 min wait, expect an hour. Do not tip the agents, instead go online and book the tickets yourself.
If you arrive early, don’t let them put you in the line. There will be another group ahead of you and it will make you feel taken advantage of.
The tour is okay, but if you plan ahead and get tickets to the statue, the water taxi is much better.

First time ever stepping into a boat. Sailing around the island of Manhattan is simply breath taking. Drinks and food a bit pricey though. Whenever there’s events such as an artist or a band I definitely book the tickets. Highly recommend!

The break down! Valentine’s day dinner cruise.
You will get 3 star because:
1– The views were amazing!
2– The love was in the Air!
3 — My significant other asked me to!
You will get 2 stars off because:
1– Everyone on the boat was freezing including the Salmon my girlfriend had…
2– When you charge dollar amount for such an important day, you should deliver to people expectation!
In the end maybe in summer would be lively experience but my experience was turned mediocre because of something simple as feeling worm inside of Cruise boat in the middle of February…

I went here for the Valentine’s day dinner cruise. Paying $ 150 per person for a romantic (three hours) dinner should be an amazing experience. The service and food was good. I know our server, Melvin, tried to accommodate all the people that was on his section… However, it was freezing on the boat. There were people who had to wear their coats the entire time. One guy sitting next to me, wore gloves to eat. Even the wait staff had hoodies on! When I ask several staff member to bring up the heat, there was conflicting answers: «there’s technical difficulties with the boat», «its going to warm up soon», «its a hybrid– so it will be take longer to warm».
If you cannot keep you customers warm and comfortable, you shouldn’t be operating in the winter.

I mean I have absolutely nothing bad to say. This will be my second time on a Hornblower Yacht, both times were free and included drinks, food and entertainment. Friendly staff, VIP treatment from the beginning to end! Ok maybe 1 bad thing… The song «I’m on a boat bitch!» Kept playing in my head half of the time

First time on this boat for the Unilocal Holiday Hangover 2016.
Pros:
— Unlimited drinks, food (all the participating vendors on board were amazing in their own way), and music
— Great service from the crew — constantly clearing all the plates and cups and they were super polite
— Three floors — plenty of space to navigate around and couches to sit on
— Great dance floor in the middle with balcony overlook
— Bathrooms were decent
Cons:
— None!

Love hornblower cruise! Had a blast last night. Crews are friendly & helpful. Bathrooms are very clean. Top notch of all the cruise I’ve tried in nyc so far!
You can seat back & enjoy the scenery of NYC. It goes around hudson river where the views are all the lights from the concrete jungle & pass by the statue of liberty. Its one of a kind experienced. Makes you love nyc a lot more! Now I know what to do whenever my friends & family visit me here in nyc! Love love it!

Oh my! This is a must! We had the best tour guide ever and he left out NOTHING! We captured beautiful pictures also. Excellent time!

I give this 4 stars because of the experience I had on this cruise. It was amazing! In the beginning we had reservations for the window seat but they were all taken up so they accommodated us with and even better seat with a full 180 degree view! Truly amazing!
The food was excellent, the service was 5 star class but the wine was better than then the Mixed drinks. Overall it was a great experience and I recommend for romantic evenings or even special occasions.

We got to take the Hornblower Infinity Sunday Brunch Jazz Cruise as a wedding gift and we found it be to fantastic. We picked up our tickets at will call and waited for our turn to board (they alternate boarding between the two decks so it’s never too long of a wait to be seated inside). Once inside we were seated (note that you need to pay extra for a guaranteed window table for 2… most large parties end up with a window seat regardless but not necessarily likely for smaller groups). We didn’t have a window seat but could still see just fine and had no issues.
The boarding opens 30 minutes before the boat leaves (so starting at 12 for the 12:30 brunch departure). The cruise itself lasts for about 2 hours and you’ll pull into port around 2:30pm. They also start serving brunch and mimosas at noon so you can basically be done with your meal before the boats leaves, if you choose. The jazz band was great and there was a dance floor that people got into once the dj took over for a while. There are a few outdoor decks to get some pictures on, but seating is limited so get out their quickly if you want to be able to sit outside (we got a nice spot in the shade on the second deck which was clutch!).
The staff was extraordinarily attentive and friendly throughout and always made sure you had champagne and oj. The bar was also open on the first deck if you wanted to pay for something a bit stronger (Bloody Mary, mixed drinks, etc).
The food was good, sure some was cold but overall we were happy with our meal. Offerings included eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, quiche, hash browns, waffles, chicken, beef, rice, Mac and cheese (delicious!!!), and numerous Salads, fruits, and pastries. It’s open for most of your cruise so feel free to go back for seconds (or thirds or fourths…).
If you check into «Hornblower cruises» on Unilocal,you’ll also get a free sparkling wine drink. I saved mine for next time (too many mimosas!) but thought that was a nice touch!
We got some great views and pictures of lower Manhattan, brooklyn bridge, freedom tower, governors island, and Statue of Liberty!
Would highly recommend for a birthday, anniversary, or just because… really one of a kind NYC experience!

Awesome!!! We were so lucky to go on a gorgeous day! The food itself isn’t high end gastronomy, but you will find a little bit of everything– eggs, bacon, meats and veggies, breads, pastries, cheeses, fruits, and cakes. There is a lot to choose from, again, not the best food on the planet but it’s about the experience!
The staff was extremely professional and provided fantastic catering service to us and all of those around us. Always smiling, providing tips and helping with various requests. I was really impressed and pleased by their commitment to having us enjoy the ride!
The cruise was beautiful. After we ate for about one hour, the boat left the shore and took us all the way to the Brooklyn bridge and back– the skyline views are amazing! We get very close to the Statue of Liberty! I loved that we were able to walk around and go on the different decks of the boat, I loved that the staff walked around with warm cookies, and I loved being on the water!
I think this is a worthwhile experience to go on a date or take your out of town visitors and show them the gorgeous NYC skyline views, bridges and First Lady!

I’ve been on quite a few of their cruises at this point and each one has always resulted in being a super fun, memorable time.
The Hornblower Infinity and the Hornblower Hybrid are both beautiful sea vessels. The Infinity is a 210-​foot yacht with an open bow, covered sky deck, and state-​of-​the-​art sound and lighting systems. It’s a very elegant ship that makes an excellent venue for a trip around the island over dinner, drinks and dancing.
The Hornblower Hybrid is a tad smaller at 148 feet and is apparently an eco-​friendly yacht which offers 360-​degree views from its Atrium Deck. Through out the last few years I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing both ships and they’re both beautiful ships.
