This store is a magical treasure, the kind of business that is hard to find these days. I visited after my beloved Paradigm bookshelf speakers, which I’d had for fifteen years, were blown by our subletters. Joe helped me to find the perfect replacements, right within my budget. I was free to listen to whichever speakers I wanted, with a variety of musics, for as long as I needed in order to make my decision. Joe offered helpful advice and contextual information about the products without pressuring or rushing me in any way. And he shipped the speakers for a reasonable price. My new speakers have improved my listening and quality of life enormously. J & V Audio does things the way audio stores *should* do things. (So many other outlets, in contrast, show no knowledge of music, listening, and audio quality other than marketing hype.) I would recommend it to everyone.

Tucked away on the 4^th floor is Stereo Steve and lot’s of inventory of mid and high end stereo equipment. No frills or fancy listening rooms (although Steve is more than happy to let you audition a variety of speakers). Just a knowledgeable, no pressure fellow enthusiast who will sell you what you need at a very fair price. And buy a Parasound Halo A21 I did. This hidden gem is my new go-​to audio resource.

I went to a couple speaker stores looking for some good quality bookshelf speakers and these guys nailed it for me. They have a pretty solid selection of some good brands and are very accommodating in terms of demoing speakers. Joe was super helpful overall and really helped me narrow down my choices to get exactly what I wanted. He really knew his stuff and was able to provide unbiased feedback/​solid suggestions regardless of his taste — really helped guide me to the speaker that would be right for me. I ended up going with the PSB Image B5s and I’m super excited to hear them in my new place.

They are the only store that I saw both Paradigm and PSB speakers to demo. They carry Monitor Audio also Anthem and several other brands. The staff is helpful and friendly. If you want to spend big bucks they have some very nice high end stuff also. They have good stuff at all price levels though. You take the elevator to get to them. They are in the same building as a barber shop on another floor.
