I came here for my first Brazilian ever because of the good reviews and proximity from work. I had Natasha and it was honestly a great experience! I was very nervous for obvious reasons but Natasha told me how to breathe to minimize the pain. I have a very low pain threshold but even so it was not nearly as bad as I was expecting it to be. She was also very chatty, friendly, and funny throughout the process which helped distract me from what was actually going on. I was in and out in about 10 minutes! Not to mention the great price. It looks like I will definitely become a regular here. Thanks Natasha!

Brazilians suck, and they make it suck less.
They are not as cheap as some other places in the city, but the spa is clean and the ladies do a great job, so it makes paying an extra $ 10-​$ 15 worth it! Highly recommended it!

Went to Angela, she’s pretty awesome, knows what she’s doing. I rebooked an appointment before leaving. Highly recommend this place!

I found this place on Unilocal after UniK Murray Hill upped it’s prices. I had Angela for a brazilian and underarms. Absolutely loved her-​friendly, efficient, and understanding. No double dipping or repeat waxing over the same area. The max she went over was twice which I definitely think helped minimize any pain (since there essentially was none which I didn’t think was possible). The appointments also seemed readily available since the receptionist first offered me same day. The only small thing is that the receptionist was a little terse. She was super friendly with regulars but not so much with me who was very nervous about seeing a new waxer. But I did just go before the holidays and she seemed a little overwhelmed so I don’t want to hold that against her.

Top notch! Love this place. All the ladies are great, you really can’t go wrong. I’ve tried other places closer to where I live (brooklyn) but they’re nothing compared to J’aime. I travel to midtown just for a wax. Also great prices!

LOVE this place! I go to Natasha or Nora for my Brazilian wax. They get the job done in less than 15 minutes! Highly recommended.

I had an appt with ANGELA today. She was very HONEST and EFFICIENT (out in 15 mins). I haven’t waxed in a while and I was pretty nervous about the pain but she talked to me throughout the appt which calmed me down a little. After the first couple of strips, it didn’t hurt anymore. She used this metal tool to take out an ingrown hair (she actually went under my skin) and nipped me. It hurt but she applied Neosporin right after. She advises you about how to take care of the hair after waxing to achieve the perfect wax. The salon is CLEAN and the receptionist was nice (unlike what other reviewers had said). NO DOUBLE DIPPING and they use HOT WAX.
I won’t be coming back because she didn’t do a clean job. Even though she couldn’t get all the hairs (my fault bc I trimmed), but she just left it like that. My old aesthetician goes in with tweezers afterwards to get every hair. It’s an extra step but makes a big difference!
Regardless, this is a CLEAN, CONVENIENT, AND AFFORDABLE place in the city for waxing!

Olga is the best! But if she is not there then just about anyone is great. Clean, fast & inexpensive. I have been going here for 4 years & I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

I discovered J’aime a year into my time working in Midtown and I’m so glad that I did!
My first visit to J’aime was good — I started with a deep European from Irene rather than a Brazilian until I learned more about their waxing services. I made a second appointment this AM for a Brazilian and they were able to get me in at 3 with Natasha and HOLY HA-​HOO, she did an amazing job. Not only did she teach me some breathing techniques but she also gave me some information about the kind of wax they use and how to best care for my skin in between visits.
I highly recommend Natasha and for a $ 34 Brazilian in under 10 minutes? I’m hooked! Or, Ha-​Hooked, rather ;)

Oh that dreaded time of the month! No, I’m not talking about THAT I’m talking about waxing. I used to go to Shobhas but I’m tight on money so I came here based on the lower price and great reviews.
I went in and out in 9 mins, so this is great! My waxer was Olga, and she is so nice and funny. What the other reviewers say about the wax is true, it is not a hard wax so it takes more tries. But hey, considering how much you are paying– no pain no gain, right? If you go monthly it will be less painful.
Clean facility, quick service and reasonable price. I will be back!
(Note: I went in the morning and it was not crowded at all– so I didn’t feel rushed)

It’s been a bit of a (mental) journey but I have found my wax place in NYC. I’m pretty particular about where I get my waxes done after my Philly spot set the standard way up, but after some research and jumping right in to J’aime Day Spa, I’m pleased that my instinct was well founded. The full wax here is $ 36 and absolutely a steal. I was in and out under 10 minutes after a walk-​in around 6:15 PM. Even though it’s near my work, it may be tough for me to go in the future since it closes at 7 PM (only caveat). I’m still going to try my best to go on Thursdays (closes at 8) or on the weekends, because I am loyal to a fault when it comes to quick and painless waxes for less.

I found this place through Unilocal and I have been going to them for about a year now. In the beginning, I tried different people and about 3 months in, I realized that I liked Nora the best. She takes about 8 minutes and its all set. For a Brazilian, I hope not to be there for longer than 15 minutes.
They always ask you to come 5 minutes before hand and try to follow that because it does help make the process easier. If you are the last client of the day the receptionist will ask you to pay first. You only tip in cash so have some handy.
Side note: there is a really cute yorkie who is super friendly that sometimes hangs out in the reception area. :)

I had my first experience here with Olga last week for what started off to be a Brazilian. I recently moved here from Chicago where I only went to one woman for the past six years for my Brazilians.
Olga was extremely nice and comforting. However, I was disappointed that the spa doesn’t use hard wax. I have AN EXTREMELY low tolerance for pain and have become accustomed to using hard wax on my lips so they can be done in one pull, Olga said it would take about six using the strips. This is NO FAULT of her own, but rather my own anxiety about the process. So, I decided to skip the lips until I can keep coming back and becoming more comfortable with the process.
Olga did a GREAT job and was not the least bit annoyed when I kept stressing to her how anxious I was. I will definitely continue to come here. As other reviewers have said, this is probably as painless as a wax can be. The place was very clean.
My one gripe is that I feel like they rush you bc there are back to back appointments. I didn’t find the receptionist rude, but rather that she sticks firmly to the schedule. I called in two times to change my appointment time due to conflicts with work and she accommodated me without any problem as others have experienced.
I will definitely make this my go to NY Brazilian wax salon. Can’t beat $ 36 for clean, efficient, and as painless as possible service.

I found this place via Unilocal because I wanted to do some research on where to go in NYC as it is my first time getting a Brazilian in the city coming from DC where I was well taken care of. I went to them on 7÷23÷15.
Service: I was placed with an older woman named Irene. She was not very thorough. She finished rather quickly so I did my own inspection and she had to go over it at least 5 times because of hairs she missed which I HAD to point out to her.
Wax: The wax they use is green and not the usual I am used to. It is not even hard wax. But apparently it is «custom» (according to the girl at the front desk). The wax was not very good and left me with an irritation. I wouldn’t recommend if you have sensitive skin.
Experience: The girl at the front desk was not very polite at all and did not make me feel welcomed as a new client. Irene was okay.
Overall NOT a good experience. It seems the people who DO have good experiences with this place are people who have been going to them for years. The place is clean.

I once went to get a wax at some top salon in the city and the lady kept telling me to hold my fat back. (She used those words) I was mortified. I’m insanely self conscious. Today, I had Natasha, she made me feel like an old friend. (Not that my old friends have seen my …) Anyway, the woman at the counter was a doll. I’ll go back soon. Clean, cute, comfortable space.

First time here today. First time getting a brazilian (I know, don’t judge). Was recommended to come here by my sister who’s been a loyal customer for years.
I called ahead, said I was in the area and asked if walk-​ins were welcome, the receptionist said «Just come in, I’ll see what I can do.» Didn’t wait at all, Natasha took me in right away, I was lucky. She made me feel very comfortable and explained through the whole procedure. The waxing didn’t last more than 5 mins (thank God)! She def knew what she was doing. I will def come here again, very satisfied. Price was $ 36. I tipped her $ 10.
Minus one star for missing a few hairs, but I will be back!!!

GUYS this place is great. Seriously. Nowhere else in the city can you get a Brazilian wax for less than $ 40 in such a clean, welcoming places. Also, it was virtually painless compared to other experiences I’ve had elsewhere.
Make sure to bring cash for tip!

I just went to J’Aime Day Spa, and it was one of the best waxes I’ve ever gotten. It’s clean, quick, and as painless as possible. Natasha was great! She’s very friendly and fast and seems to have a lot of experience. I was out of there in minutes. She gave me great tips after seeing how my skin was and recommended I get a hydrocortisone cream with aloe from the drugstore to soothe my skin after. She also gave tips on how to exfoliate as well because my skin is sensitive.
The price is very affordable at around ~$ 36 compared to other places around the city that run $ 60-​$ 75. The room is clean and presentable, and they don’t double dip which is a must! I have just moved here from Ohio, and it’s great to find a place to be a regular at! :) I will be back often!

After having a less than stellar experience at Noy Skincare (which also had mostly good reviews, like J’Aime) I’ll admit I was skeptical of J’Aime. Great Brazilian waxes — for only $ 35? Yeah right, I thought. Luckily, I was wrong.
The receptionist was rude on the phone when I called last week, but the woman sitting at the desk when I arrived for my appointment was nice enough. She let me know I’d be about 5 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, which was thoughtful.
Now down to the details: the wax was pretty flawless. Don’t expect anything fancy from the treatment rooms: it’s a medical-​style bed and a roll of paper to sit on. I’ve had waxes where I have a nice blanket to get under or at least a blanket to lie on, but then again, I paid upwards of $ 60 for those waxes. This I can take. The wax itself was SO much less painful than the ones I’ve had before, so I asked my specialist Irene what the difference was. They use softer strips and in smaller pieces — and every rip is EXTREMELY quick. I was out of the room in under 10 minutes. That, my hairless friends, is a record.
A few notes: you can’t tip on a card. I didn’t have any cash and I fully plan on coming back, so I promised myself to leave a few extra dollars the next time. Also note that this is not your fancy spa experience. But it seemed very busy to me, and my wax was pretty painless as waxes go.
