On a recent trip to NYC, I asked a waiter in one of the cafes at MoMA what his favorite coffee around town was. He said Joe. After going to Joe, I could kiss that man smackdab on his lips for his brilliant recommendation. Joe isn’t messing around when it comes to «large,» and thank god for that. 20 ounces of amazing, rich, and vibrant coffee started my day off perfectly. Just so I wouldn’t have to say goodbye to Joe once I left the city, I brought home a bag of Joe’s beans(they’re great too, and reasonably priced). All in all, Joe’s a go.

Great espresso, no complaints other than minimal seating but it’s a small café so that’s to be expected

Been here a couple times now during wait times at nearby brunch spots. Your basic modern coffee shop with Doughnut Plant doughnuts to boot. Ordered a large Cold brew iced coffee($ 4ish). Added in some almond milk they leave out plus a solid amount of simple syrup. Quick and delicious — was in and out in 3 minutes. When it’s nice outside they have benches to enjoy the weather. Nothing more to say here, just good coffee and friendly baristas.

Amazing, delicious coffee! Prices are a bit steep($ 5.50 for a large iced latte) but worth it. This is definitely quality you can taste! The space is kind of cramped though– it’s not really a place to study or catch up with friends IMO as there were only a few two top tables inside, which is why I gave 4 stars. Take it to go and walk a block to Central Park instead. Baristas were all friendly and the baked goods looked so tasty. I will definitely be back!

Good cup of joe. However, I still find Stumptown brew to be better. The texture at Joe is perhaps too thin in comparison. Still an excellent establishment and you will find a decent sized line at all times to prove it.

Very good espresso in a chic yet cozy atmosphere. I was pleased to see that they had two vegan options-a muffin and a cookie, as well as a variety of non-dairy milks. My Iced Americano($ 3.25) was excellent, with a subtle sweetness and rich flavor. The barista working informed me that the vegan chocolate chip banana muffin($ 2.75) was the best thing in the case, and she was not wrong. Packed with huge chocolate chunks, and perfect moist texture-an excellent choice whether you are vegan or not. I found the prices to be reasonable, especially for a popular NYC coffee chain. Baristas were friendly but extremely slow-around a 15 minute wait to get my coffee with almost no line. So, if you have a real job or someplace to be(unlike me), this might be an issue. The real reason Joe loses a star for me though, is the whole ‘no wifi’ thing. Are they trying to be edgy? It’s 2016 and we are in Manhattan-people need to get on the Internet.

The coffee really is so good. I went on the first hot summer day of 2016 and was craving a cold brew. Unfortunately they ran out, so I went with a small iced latte. Now. People. This is how you make an iced latte — you start with the warmest ingredient and end with the coldest, meaning, espresso, then milk, then ice. This way the dairy and the milk blend in better, and the liquid is not warm enough to melt all the ice into the water. Out of all the coffee shops in NYC I can count with one hand how many get this correctly, and I’m glad Joe is one of them. Redeemed $ 4.25 thru Dollop, which was a bit of a hassle but turned out ok.

My go-to coffee spot in the UWS. Joe’s coffee is strong and gives me the energy boost I need that Starbucks or DD will never do because their coffee is watered down. Joe’s large cold brew coffee is amazing with a bold taste and I barely have to add any sugar or milk. They also have perk cards so after 10 coffees your 11th is free! I am also a huge fan of their almond croissants and love the fact that they serve doughnut plant donuts!

Stopped at Joe after Birdbath next door ran out of the City Bakery hot chocolate. Funny enough, none of us ended up getting hot chocolate at Joe, after learning that they just use powder which they turn into a syrup. The SO had a hot apple cider(not sure how it’s made) and I had a small coffee, but the special blend they had that day… it’s hard for me to pick out notes of flavors in coffee, so it just pretty much tasted like normal coffee(+ extra $ 0.50)… but good normal coffee if that makes any sense. It’s a small space and you might have some luck finding a seat or two, but I wouldn’t count on it. Staff is friendly here. The oatmeal cookies here are what really shines… delicious oatmeal currant cookies with the perfect blend of spices(cardamom, perhaps?) — it’s moist and a must-have with your coffee. Great coffee mini-chain in the UWS.

Location: Upper West Side becomes more and more interesting to me. I have not been dining out there even though I probably should’ve. Joe Coffee is pretty famous. I mean, as for me — a coffee fanatic, Joe coffee has been mentioned by few other friends who are crazy about coffee in NYC. Have been waiting for so long, I am here now. The store is pretty small, but they still have many seats for people to sit in and enjoy a cup of joe. The store sometimes can be crowded and making people feel very uncomfortable. The menu is marked on the blackboard above your head. The menu is divided by espresso, hot, cold … They also offer doughnut plant donuts. OMG, very very very good strategy to attract me to come back. Why? Cuz every other coffee shops are having Dough for their donuts but sometimes, doughnut plant can be missing. Coffee: I really want to get flat white because latte is still sweet for me. But luckily, their latte is prefect to be treated as a flat white. Very delicious and the latte art is outstanding! Service: very sweet barista and cashier. Yeah, the female cashier is too attractive to not to look at again again and again. Overall: 4 stars and I will be back

Non biased(except for Starbucks) out of towner. Woke up in UWS Saturday in search for a cup o’ Joe. Asked our host where to go, she said«Starbucks is on the corner»…Thats not surprising. So onto Unilocal for help, it pointed me towards Joe’s coffee. My lady loves her Starbucks, but I was able to persuade her to try this place by promising her Starbucks if her Soy Chai didn’t meet her standards. She also wanted a good bakery treat, and lately Starbucks is slacking in that department. Entered Joe’s Coffee and greeted with smiles and a line(typical any coffee place on Saturday). The environment was welcoming and the baristas were able to multitask, chatting to customers while preparing drinks without holding up the line. And I heard them say they were down a person for the day, didn’t seem like a problem. They have a good bakery selection and look legit, but I chose the bakery next door. Convenient! Coffee Mission successful.

Joe’s is everything I want in a coffee shop. Quality espresso. Foam that is light and almost creamy. Excellent pastries. Prime people watching. In my three visits thus far I’ve yet to encounter an unfriendly barista. There’s definitely a morning rush here, so be ready for a line out the door. It’s a wonderful shop, and I can’t wait to come back.

I love Joe’s coffee. It’s the perfectly balanced coffee. This location, and all others are consistently good. The baristas aren’t the friendliest but feel free to act as stuck up as they are. They will still make you a magical beverage. This is a tiny little place and used to be cash only before. I believe they still don’t have WiFi and it’s a good call. It can get really busy in here. Just grab it and take it to go. Take your iced latte to the park. It’s really worth it. Stumptown midtown has it beat for having a hotel right next to it where you can take your cup of coffee and relax. How often are you gonna do that though? Also, I don’t really care about latte art.

You’re out of the loop on the uws if you don’t know about this place. everyone and their mother goes here. Joes is consistently good in terms of their lattes, cappuccinos, drip coffee, and iced coffee. Seriously the best — not too strong or too weak a brew. Just don’t expect to sit here and get work done on a peaceful morning. There is limited space, tons of people, and it’s a bit cramped. There is a step to get in, but still not the ideal place to bring a stroller. You have to wait a little for your coffee as there are so many in line ahead of you, but its worth it. Oh yeah, donuts from donut plant are icing on the cake.
