Yum! Try the chicken spinach saag or the chicken tikka masala. Naan is a must. Go. Eat. Be happy.

Coworker clued me into this place — a small restaurant far on the west end of Christopher. Have been coming back at least twice a week ever since. As a person that appreciates quality and a good deal, they hit both marks. The lunch specials are a good deal with substantial servings, even for a big guy like me. The food is fresh and the favors are great. I love a good curry and their sauces are worth licking the bowl(or plastic container) for. I just finished a serving of the Murg Moiley, chicken breast in a curry sauce cooked with coconut milk. They made it a little hotter/spicy for me which was sooooo good. I’m far from a foodie, but I’m not ashamed to admit I had a little foodgasm. Point is — it’s good.

Karahi is a solid Indian restaurant and a great lunch spot. I’ve ordered from here 3 times now and it’s been very good. For $ 10 you get a meat entre, rice, and naan or $ 8 for a veggie entrée. I typically get one of each and the food is plenty to split over 3 days, one lunch special is definitely more I could eat in a day and they give you a good amount of meat. I’ve had both the tikka masala and the butter chicken and both were very enjoyable. The sauce was creamy with a good flavor and a hint of spiciness. The dal makhani was a little disappointing, while it tasted good it wasn’t as creamy as I’m accustomed to and enjoy. I switched to the dal yellow and it’s very good, nice and spicy. Delivery is usually decently quick, it took an hour one time which I didn’t even mind and the delivery guy was very apologetic. This is definitely a go to lunch spot for me though they don’t seem to delivery cutlery so make sure you have some available.

Small little Indian place I passed by unintentionally on my way to the Christopher path. Absolutely not a disappoint. Saag paneer. Amazing. Paneer the perfect consistency. Saag the perfect flavor. All dishes served with white rice. Rice was fresh. They add peas to the rice which is a yummy plus and indicative that dishes are a step up from the average Desai place. Ambience is nice. Cozy. Decorated with deep reds and a brick wall. Artwork depictions of the Bhagavad Gita and Mahabharata. Friendly wait staff. Clean. One suggestion: more elegant window drapes.

So good! So many dishes available to chose from, which I really appreciate, and every one is high quality. I come here all the time and have never left disappointed.

Wonderful restaurant, delicious food, great service. Wait staff went out of their way to accommodate the requests of their guests. We had leftover food and the staff gave us extra rice to take home as well. Very considerate and personable staff and a great dining experience overall. Highly recommend.

It’s a clean, passable Indian place. Not terribly authentic, but also not greasy. Nothing to write home about, but fine for down the street.

I had the non vegetarian Thali platter. It was incredible! The atmosphere is so relaxing and cute. The food was high quality, authentic, and good sized portions. Price was good too. Go there!!! It’s so good!!!

This is my go to Indian place in our hood. But not just because it’s down the street! I took my Indian friend here and she gave it the thumbs up. Everything from the tikka to the paneer is solid and of course the naan is great. It’s never too crowded. Service can be slow sometimes but nothing detrimental.

My partner and I and another couple got together in the Village for dinner and drinks. We decided on Indian and found this place using Google. The server was friendly, the service was quick and the food was very good. Not amazing, but very tasty and above average. A definite go to place when we’re in the West Village and have a taste for good Indian food.

Karahi is like typical New York Indian food at it’s finest– it’s consistent, satisfying, tasty, and cheap. Karahi tows the line and I have no complaints about that. I used to order in from them constantly at work to the point I got kinda bored with them, but then one day I actually got off my fat ass and went there and was honestly wowed by how much better the food tastes there than in an aluminum tin. This isn’t exactly a revelation– take out is never as good as being there– but with Karahi I’d really push for you to go in person. It improves the meal like ten fold. Service is always quick, place is clean, and they have a great lunch special. That’s it. Simple, straight forward, good.

Great service! Friendly staff! Very accommodating and helpful! My partner absolutely loves their dishes but I’m not the biggest fan. They do taste good but a lot of the dishes taste similar and quite a bit different to the Indian I’m used to. In saying that, we keep going back.

Food is not great at all and service is pretty awful. The staff are slow and rude. This was a last minute planning as my friends and I were looking for a place to eat around the neighborhood, we usually look at Unilocal before venturing into any new place to eat.

Cute little spot on Christopher Street. Staff is very nice, owner very engaged with the business and attentive. Prices were incredibly reasonable. I had a group of 4, we ordered 3 appetizers to share, 2 bottles of wine, each had an entrée and each took an order of Nan to go(so worth it) and the bill was still under $ 150. Portion size is perfect, as you see in others’ pictures here. Not too big, not too small. My only«complaint» would be that I ordered an entrée that was listed as «extremely spicy», and that’s exactly what I wanted. I assume if the menu explains a dish as such that it should come out that way unless requested otherwise. I suppose next time I’ll have to make sure to let them know I can handle it :) Other than that, the food was delicious and everyone else was happy with theirs as well. Will definitely be returning!

Conveniently located at Christopher St. we dropped by after work and was the first customers coming in for dinner that night. We ordered Murgh Tikka Masala, Shahi Paneer and Garlic Naan. The Tikka Masala was good for those who like dishes on the spicy side. Paneer was good just the paneer itself though and the Garlic Naan was pretty bland — there were too many huge chucks of onions in the naan which had also thrown me off. Authentic? I’d say no. Overall, food was decent, but I’ve had better.

My friends and I came here when we were wandering the area looking for a place that wasn’t too crowded on a Friday night. The food was decent but not spicy(though this should be expected since they usually try to accommodate the American palate). The prices are pretty normal(about $ 10 – 12 for an entrée). Service was really bad though. First, when we were looking at the menus, the waiter kept telling us to move so that he could place the napkins just so on the table in front of us. Then we hardly saw him after that and took forever to get the check. Overall, the food was ok but it wasn’t the best experience I’ve ever had. Probably won’t be back unless I’m in the area and can’t find anything else to eat.

Came upon this place since Pinto next door was too crowded for a table. Not necessarily picky about Indian food, so was glad that we were able to sit immediately. Server was attentive at first but slowly deteriorated as the night progressed. Got the Chicken Curry Masala($ 13) with a side of Paratha($ 4) and a beer($ 5). The chicken curry came out relatively quickly(with a communal dish of rice for the 4 of us). Chicken was good, more mild than I would have liked but sufficed. The bread somehow took much longer to come out(halfway done with meal, annoying but not worth an argument). Waiter disappeared after our meal; we didn’t receive our check until 25 minutes after we were done eating. This is even more absurd considering there’s only a handful of tables in the establishment. Thankfully there was plenty of cash on hand so we didn’t have to wait longer for a credit card machine. Decent food, bad service, yet relatively cheap for location.

Good food but don’t try paying with a credit card over the phone. He’ll get mad and hang up on you. Oh and he’ll red flag your number and give you attitude every time you call. #VindalooNazi

This is my go-to Indian restaurant. The Navratan Korma is my favorite. The Nan is fantastic– go for the garlic. YAY for onion relish and mango chutney! I only order delivery from this restaurant, so I can’t speak to the dining experience.
