Food is decent(not spectacular, but decent) and prices are good. However, after ordering twice from King Food Restaurant, I’ll never do business with then again. Why? On both orders, the delivery boy bumped up the total on the check. I always ask for the total of the order onthe phone so I can have the correct amount ready. The first time I ordered, the delivery boy asked for two dollars more than the amount they told me on the phone. I thought I mis-heard, and forgot about it. When the same thing happened a second time(and a look at the receipt made it obvious the amount was changed), I called them up and was told, «maybe he added in a tip.» What? When I complained, they promised to send him back with the extra money. Never happened.

This Chinese place is near where we live and it is super affordable so we typically order in… The food is not that amazing — pretty standard. Basic take-out Chinese food and a go-to when you want something fast and cheap. I ordered the Chicken in Black Bean Sauce and the Egg Rolls. My sig-o ordered the Shrimp and Scallops with Garlic Sauce and also the Prawns Hunan style. Everything was mediocre and my egg rolls tasted kinda hard and stale. When you order for delivery though the service is super fast which is nice when you come home after a long day and want food in your mouth right then and there :) We will order in from the place again bc it’s close and cheap but I hope to find an alternative.

Oh man, I freaking love this place. I’ve been going ever since I was a kid and every time I’m in NYC, I try to stop by, just for the sake of nostalgia. There’s nothing particularly unique about this hole in the wall when compared to seemingly countless other identical establishments– this one just happened to be the one that I call my own. Now the food isn’t particularly great. It’s sort of greasy and doesn’t exactly scream«fresh ingredients» but if you like simple fried chinese and american fast food, it’s not bad at all. I highly recommend the fried chicken wings and french fries. You can’t go wrong.
