Koffeecake Corner

You had me the moment you said we’d be going to a coffee shop that wasn’t Starbucks.
Free Wi-​fi, couches, high top tables, wooden finishings, iced teas and delicious looking deserts.
Who needs anything more in their next coffee shop visit?

So this place is a little pricey when it comes to getting a coffee fix, but i guess it’s pretty standard for NYC coffee shops.
The reason i’m giving 5 stars is because i ordered the Nutella Latte and FELL IN LOVE. Beyond the fact that it’s NUTELLA, the barista also offers to add an extra drizzle of chocolate after making your drink. (word of advice: SAY YES) The drink itself is really sweet and tastes more like melted nutella hot chocolate than a latte.
While this isn’t for everyone (aka crazies who don’t finish a jar of nutella with a spoon within 2 days of opening it), it was definitely for me. Every now and then, you just gotta say «TREAT YO SELF»

Fairly large coffee shop in Chelsea with a fair amount of seating. Unlike some patrons who’ve reviewed this place, I’ve been very pleased with the service, in fact, I’d say that they’re above and beyond what I’d consider good service (they helped me out of a pinch once, that was in no way coffee related). Coffee’s good, selection’s good, the place itself is quite cozy, though a little big and crowded, and the acoustics of the room aren’t great, making conversation a little difficult, but not a big thing.
The location is convenient for me, but that’s always an individual thing. And there’s something to the place being specifically on a corner that means that it gets loads of and loads of light, so even on a rainy day, it doesn’t get gloomy.

Good coffee and lattes. Healthy snacks and also comfort snacks. Nice warm atmosphere. In a great area of Chelsea .

I like this place! A small place with limited but creative seating, nobody is too rushed and they don’t mind a few seated chatters over a single cup. The coffee is quite decent, but the cookies («pillows») are like $ 4.50 each. Making them quite pricey for what they really are.

I stopped by this place on my way to Chelsea Market. Being that the temperature was in the single digits, I really wanted a warm drink to hug during my walk. Koffeecake Corner’s reviews checked out after a quick peak at it on Unilocal,so I peeled off the cold street inside for something to warm me up.
The staff was super friendly. We shared some laughs about the cold, and how my choice in drink was on point with just about every other customer’s. What can I say? Nutella lattes are an absolute must when you find them on a menu. Nothing else compares really. The one from Koffeecake corner, in particular, is rich, creamy, and packing 3 shots of espresso. Feeling buzzed just thinking about it? You should. That drink were have you crawling up the walls its so caffeinated. Red Bull has nothing on it!
To go with my hyped up latte, I ordered a few French macarons. I can’t remember the flavors I got, but they were all decent. They very fresh and I don’t remember not enjoying their taste. If I’m ever in the area again, however, I think I’ll pass on them and just get the latte. It was filling enough on its own. ¾s of the way through the medium I was worried I wouldn’t have an appetite for lunch.
If you’re cold or tired, Koffeecake Corner is the perfect spot to cure what ails you. Just make sure you have at least an hour or 2 to work off the buzz and/​or full belly, before sitting down for a real meal.

Koffeecake is located in a great location so is convenient if you are just wandering New York or spending some time shopping. There are a lot of tables, chairs, and c counters, which can be hard to find in New york. This is a nice spot to post up and get some reading or work done. They have a lot of options on the menu for drinks and food. However, I was quite shocked there weren’t more coffeecake options! But, the original coffeecake was quite delicious. My other qualm is the high pricing, but that seems about normal for the area.

Sehr empfehlenswert ist der Apple Pie. Um gleich zum Thema zu kommen. Kaffee ist besser als im Starbucks (wobei das natürlich immer auf den Kaffeekocher und die Tageszeit ankommt. Auch die Pancake bites sind genial. Platz zum sitzen ist vorhanden, also auch für Familien ganz nett.
Ein wenig teuer (Croissant $ 3,20). Das hat man davon wenn man als Europäer unbedingt europäisches Futter haben muss.

I come here for one thing the chocolate chip walnut cookie! I swear it’s the best cookie in all of New York!!! Probably the best in all of the world. I’ve tried millions of cookies and nothing beats them.

No doubt about it. My gf and I are on the search for the best chocolate chip cookie in NYC and koffeecake is by far the best we had so far! So rich in flavor. Always served warm and so fresh!

You really are the worst. The sign says you close at 11 but the girl behind counter says you close at 9:50. This the same company (different location) that posted its July specials in October.
If you do insist on patronizing this place with horrible customer service… The white chocolate hot chocolate and Nutella milkshake are both expensive but awesome.

I love this place! Their beverages are amazing. I highly recommend the Nutella latte. I never tried any of their food yet since the drinks are pretty rich by themselves but I would like to at some point. Good location and atmosphere, too.

IN SHORT: Better than average coffee with a few overly indulgent options that constantly threaten to break the willpower of your diet (I’m talking about the Nutella Cream Hot Chocolate of course).
THE STORY: Despite using the entirely unnecessary Kardashian K in the spelling of its name, Koffeecake Corner is a bright, clean space, noteworthy for its friendly staff that puts thought and care into every coffee creation. While I prefer to stick with a soy latte, the menu is long and diverse enough where I want to read over all my options in case something new strikes me. Maybe one day I’ll succumb to a life of decadence and finally order the Nutella Latte. One day.
While they tend to feel like comparable alternatives to Starbucks bakery items, the breakfast options here remain popular, and the Classic Egg White Muffin Sandwich feels like the upgraded McDonald’s McMuffin that I’m somehow always craving. Although we could probably cook it ourselves if we tried, the Mexican omelet wrap with egg whites, avocado, salsa, and cream cheese is an ideal, late morning, spicy bite that continues to satisfy cravings for hearty eggs. All in all, Koffeecake Corner is a lovely neighborhood spot that’s worth a stop for a light breakfast or brunch.

Extremely friendly and enthusiastic staff. They gave out sample cups of Dreamsicle (a mix of OJ, vanilla crème and vanilla ice cream). Didn’t think the combo would work, but heck it was hell of a good drink.
Ordered iced mocha and it was perfect for warm day like this.
Great for hanging out or getting work done. Stable wifi and accommodating staff.
Definitely a return-​worthy place. :)

The delicious, heaping cookies — they ACTUALLY call them «hug pillows» — are kept in a warmed display. $ 4.45 before tax though. The chocolate chip walnut was so dense and chocolatey that it ruined my appetite for the next 4 hours. Hug pillow indeed… ah, the warm embraces of butter and sugar!
Staff are kind and competent. A customer spilled his entire iced coffee rather dramatically and they automatically brought over a new one without a word (after helping him clean up the mess). I was told the credit minimum was $ 1, but since I doubt they sell anything under $ 1, that might have been a joke.
Most of the tiny tables are too uselessly low compared to the seats to ever be comfortable, but the sunny streetscape visible from the shop’s two huge corner windows will probably distract you from being very productive anyway.

Needing something delicious to wash down a cookie from City Cakes, stumbled on this joint to try whichever basic coffee they had.
Got to the board and saw the words NUTELLA MILKSHAKE. Perhaps eating a half pound of cookie with this decadent drink would be overkill, but it’s a sweet sweet death.
Just an amazing shake, with the Nutella flavor expanding as you drink it. Now I need to come back to actually try the coffee.

After a long night of strolling and endless store gazing in Chelsea — I was reaching the point of no return. I was tired, cold and getting crankier by the minute. Every restaurant we walked by was dark, crowded and noisy. All I wanted was a hot tea and something sweet to assist me in feeling a little more — myself (should have just bought a snickers right?)
The idea of fighting to talk over other people and dealing with a dinner menu was actually causing me mental anguish. The appeared Koffeecake Corner — like some kind of chocolate covered oasis on a street corner in Chelsea. I practically fell into its doors ordered an Earl Grey Tea and Chocolate Lava Cake with Two Scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream. The tea was tea — hard to get that wrong, short of adding half and half to it (A SIN — I tell you — A SACRILEGE!!)
But The Chocolate Lava Cake. That was the treat. Not oozy — but covered with hot dripping chocolate — drizzled with fudge sauce and caramel. The sauces hardened as soon as they hit the ice cream — so delicious. I ate the entire thing in silence. It was that good. Cool location, friendly-​ish staff, table of 7 15 year olds made for interesting eavesdropping on a Friday night (NOT — boring sized humans)
All in all — if you’re looking for a sweet treat and something warm in an environment that’s better than Starbucks but not quite Le Pain Quotidien — this is the spot!

I was not happy with my order, honestly the worst frappé I have ever gotten, went back to the counter to see if I could get something else instead or have it remade, and 2 of the guys were like. «That’s what u ordered, that’s what it is»

Stopped by here for a bite to eat before work.
I ordered the Avocado wrap with egg whites, cream cheese, and tomato. And of course, a Nutella latte frappé. The wrap was ok. It was kind of cold, but still decent. The cream cheese is kinda weird… I think it would have been better with some other type of cheese.
The frappé was obviously amazing. How can anything with Nutella be bad?
Everyone who works there is super friendly. That’s always appreciated, especially early in the morning :)

All you need to know to come here is that they have Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate.
I will elaborate a bit though — as a complement to this amazingly delicious drink, which had a very rich peanut buttery flavor, I got the Triple Chocolate Hug Pillow Cookie ($ 3.50). This was one of the best chocolate cookies I’ve ever had. It was so dense and fudgy and satisfying, that I was completely overwhelmed, in the best possible way, by the time I was finished with my drink and the cookie.
They are also very friendly here and the atmosphere is great too, with plenty of comfortable seating for some good loitering. I’ll definitely be back soon to try a bunch of the other amazing looking sweets.
