Came in for a Gel Manicure and it was the worst experience i ever had. Not only did the technician not pay attention to what i told her but she did a terrible job and 4 of my nails were bumpy and started to lift after i took a shower. i went the next to get them fixed and once again had the same problem with 2 nails. I don’t think it’s rocket science on how to give a gel manicure but they may want to invest in some classes for their technicians. she also hurt me when she cut my cuticles. Oh and they charge $ 10 to remove old gel manicure while my other place does it for free.

Loved the recommendation from Hotel Chandler! Needed an updo for a wedding I had. I arrived on time and was greeted by Ula. She had to wash/​dry and create an updo. I offered her freedom to do what she wanted to do for the updo and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The positive comments from family and friends at the wedding we attended where exceptional. I only wish I was in the city more often to use their services. It was clean, staff was friendly and location was within walking distance.

I used to love coming here for a Brazilian, but unfortunately today will be my last day :(. They did the unforgivable «double-​dip». I’m just way too paranoid about germs to come back to that.

Came here originally for a Brazilian wax, loved the job they did so I bought a package. I usually get white bumps after a wax so I spoke with the esthetician about it and she used tonic instead. She said see how it is and remind me next time. I got practically no white bumps, she did such a good job. Not to mention everything was clean and sanitary. I wish they had more deals because I would totally buy a package again. Nevertheless, even though the regular price is a bit higher than other places, I would definitely come back again.
Never tried any other services there so can’t touch on those.

I needed a mani and had a break at work. Walked in and they weren’t busy. I got an OPI gel manicure. The manicure looked good, lasted about 2 weeks which is typical for my nails.
They charge $ 35 for the gel mani, which I can get other places near my apartment for $ 25… probably won’t go back just due to the price.
The place is clean with a nice ambiance.

Chairs were a bit dingy — only 2 pedicure and manicure stations
my Spa manicure was anything but, and was just a plain old manicure.
For $ 19 I would be fine w just a mani/​pedi but was really hoping for the SPA aspect I had thought I purchased.
The lady was very nice and gave me instant drying drops for free
No drying stations and you just dry at the manicure table
all in all it was an OK experience, but with their original pricing I probably wouldn’t come back without a deal

Bought a mani pedi on one of those Pulsd sights.
Every time I try and make an appointment, they are booked.
Ugh so frustrating.
Wished I never bought the discount.
Would rather go where I always go in the village, $ 20 mani pedi anytime, open late and on weekends.

I purchased a body wrap and massage deal from Lifebooker at Magnolia Organic Spa. I’m actually kind of surprised I never noticed this place since it’s located near Umi Sushi and my plastic surgeon.
The massage especially was the highlight of my day since I was super sore and tense from working out, when the masseuse was working on me I felt like I was floating on a cloud. The body wrap was interesting. I got slathered in a pearl wrap and just relaxed for 20 minutes in a sleeping bag type of thingy with a blanket over me. I think I actually took a mini nap during the time. I did notice a nice shimmer and smoothness on my skin after.
Overall, I highly recommend Magnolia and will definetly be back!

Worst customer service experience.
My mom and I got a deal from Lifebooker as a gift. We held it off until we realized our coupon was about to expire. We could’ve made it before the expiration date but that would have been a bit inconvenient, so I called them asking if I could still make an appointment for after the expiration date. The person I was on the phone with was very nice and helped me redeem my coupons while still booking appointments for another day.
The day before our appointment, they gave me a call to confirm the appointment, which I did. We trekked out to the spa the next day to have the woman working at the front desk completely deny us of the services because the coupon had expired already. I tried to explain our situation but she just kept saying that the person I talked to on the phone should not have booked an appointment for me, and also that it said the coupon was already redeemed. Uh hello, it’s redeemed because I booked an appointment for today — check your records. And if your worker did something «wrong», why am I being punished for it?
My mom and I stepped out to discuss it and when we came back in we were greeted by a bunch of eyes rolling. Nice. So I tried to calmly discuss the whole situation with her and just tell her that what they were doing is wrong. She tried to offer me the services where I would just have to pay the difference between the actual price and the coupon price. I was trying to explain that we didn’t want the services anymore, but rather just to get a refund from Lifebooker. So I asked if they happen to get a call, if they could just explain our situation and that the coupon was redeemed but the services were not given. And she just gave me a big fat no and kept explaining how we should have gotten an appointment before it expired. It was one of those conversations that just kept going back and forth because she just wasn’t getting what I was trying to say. It basically ended up in me believing that they just straight up stole our money.
She also mentioned that she only gets paid about $ 10 from all of this and that the money from the coupon doesn’t go to her. What does that have to do with anything? Meanwhile, another girl at the counter was listening the whole time, who could’ve helped me, and decided not to say a word. I just had a feeling that maybe she understood my situation, but was scared to say something, though I could be totally wrong about that.
I mainly wanted to let that woman realize that we were upset customers and what she was doing to us was just wrong. I am usually a very nice and reasonable person, but it was so hard talking to this incredibly rude woman. As for the money, the person who got us the gift is going to call Lifebooker and ask for a refund. Things that I do regret in hindsight is not asking to speak to the manager in the chaos of it all, so instead I am putting a review riiiight here.
And I have to apologize to Unilocalers for this long ass post but hey I have to justify my one star review. My mom was really upset, which made me upset. It was truly a horrible experience. What ever happened to customer satisfaction? As for the actual services here, I will never know how they are nor do I want to come back to people with that kind of attitute.

Just tried this place today — so great!
I originally bought the groupon, and when I came in they said they were no longer accepting them. BUT they said they would honor the price — awesome! I just emailed Groupon and got a refund, and boom. Still got a $ 19 Brazilian. I thought that was very professional of them.
The Brazilian itself was well done. This place is so clean — I love it! They never double dip and they used really nice products.
After my Brazilian I stuck around for a manicure, and that was really great as well. I can’t say enough about how CLEAN this place is!
I gave it 4 stars instead of five because my manicure was pretty pricey for what it was. $ 20 for a manicure without lotion or a hand massage. It was «vegan» — though to be honest I don’t really know what that means when it comes to manicures — so that probably hiked up the price. I still think there should have been more to it.

I think I’m IN LOVE! The spa is clean and elegant. The staff is courteous. They were very flexible with me when I missed an appointment. They allowed me to use my expired lifebooker loot for 3 spray tans. These people know customer service!
Also, they MAKE SURE your spray tan comes out looking its best and lasting as long as possible — they instructed me to exfoliate/​shave/​moisturize before coming in for the appointment, called me to see if I preferred to reschedule when it was raining (which I did), and they make sure you are properly moisturized (not too much or too little) /​makeup is removed before applying the tan. My spray tan turned out very natural, and I’m sure it will last.
I also like how quickly they got me in & out — no wait, no nonsense, no pushing other services. Perfect spa experience in my opinion! Will definitely be going back to them for multiple services. Very happy camper!

I’ve been going to Magnolia for Brazilians and eyebrows and I LOVE THEM!
The most important part of any waxing establishment is the cleanliness, and Magnolia could not be better. They DO NOT double dip, and to me, that’s everything.
My favorite girl is Yolanda (never get an ingrown hair) but they’re all great! I used to go to the Brooklyn location — closed now :(- but I just went to the Manhattan location and it’s great!

I bought a groupon deal for a 30min massage and a body scrub. I know the type of «multi-​tasking» place this was going to be, so was not surprised to find nail stations in the front, and treatment room in the back for facials, massages and scrubs.
I was greeted pleasantly and led to a small, but clean room to wait. They were very nice and offered me different kinds of beverages, and the lady came to me in no time at all. She was nice and chatty, the massage was good and the scrub was nice too. She was very friendly without being too pushy so I felt totally comfortable with her. The showers were private and clean too.
All in all, I must say I was very pleasantly surprised. Sure it was not your luxurious spa experience but it is great value for money and they exceeded my expectations!

Came here for an organic facial purchased with Groupon a while ago.
All in all it was a good experience: the place is clean and although it looks like a cheap hair salon from the outside, it is actually a good beauty spa; the woman who treated me was thorough and the extraction wasn’t too painful; I left with good skin.
I will probably come back if I find another deal online, but not sure if I would pay full price for the treatments yet.

We brought a lifebooker deal for a massage and body scrub. It was for 3 people. there were only 2 workers. So it was like switching places, one after another. I didn’t figure this out until after. Therefore, there were a bit of a waiting time in between. My friend reserve this for me so I’m not sure if she agreed to this set up.
There was only 1 body scrub room with a shower. My massage was 30 minutes so it was a tease, the body scrub room got chilly and I was cold this was around Aug-​Sept 2012. pretty warm outside. They gave me a black small disposable undie thing which was pointless cause it didn’t cover anything at all. The scrub was about 15−20min and then 10 minutes rinse off. It smelled sweet like chocolate. Not sure if I was happy with this smell. The staffs were okay, this place was just okay… will not be back here, not even with a special deal online.
The place was clean. If you were to come here. Come alone, not with a friend. I think service will be better.

Bought a Groupon for a Brazilian wax, and I can definitely say that I had a positive experience. I don’t remember the lady’s name that did my wax, but she had short hair and she was really sweet. She made me feel comfortable and explained what and why certain areas hurt more than others. She also didn’t make me feel bad for flinching and making noises when I was in pain. The wax took probably less then 10 minutes, super quick and not as painful as some of my previous experiences. My only complaint was that it was waaaay to hot in the salon. I kind of start to sweat when I am uncomfortable or in pain, and the temperature in the room did not help… if anything it made it worse. The paper from the table was stuck to me at the end of the process. Other then that, it was a good experience overall.
Oh also, the receptionist was nice but there was another lady sitting up there with her that did not smile at me when I made eye contact with her, she just looked mad about being there. Other then that, I got a good vibe from the salon.

This place is horrible! I had a groupon offer and first, it is impossible to schedule an appointment when you want one, I don’t understand why. Second, I had to reschedule the appointment I finally had, due to working late and the women who I spoke to on the phone was SO RUDE and NASTY that I actually had to hang up the phone on the woman. This is a business? Are you kidding me?
I’m calling groupon to dispute this purchase because this place is all sorts of shady.

I had a lifebooker deal for Magnolia for a $ 15 blowout that was about to expire, so I made an appointment for 6pm on a Friday to get my hair done before a night out. I arrived at 5:45 and was immediately asked if I could come back in 30 minutes. The salon looked empty and it was pouring rain outside– so I asked if I could wait there and was led to a tiny room where girls were waiting to get their vulvas waxed.
After 30 minutes of waiting, I was finally taken. The hairdresser was very rough on my hair, pulling and yanking it (I’m surprised I have any left on my head). At first she started blowing out small sections, and they started getting bigger and bigger like she was rushing. The blow out took about 30 minutes, and I have long layered hair. I have to say she got a lot of volume out of my hair and it looked pretty good. They also use Moroccan Oil products here, so my hair smells great and is very soft.
It seems like everyone here had some sort of online deal. I would go back if I had plans in midtown east, but only with a deal.

I had a groupon for a «spa» manicure and pedicure. I had to make an appointment and was able to get one for early afternoon on a Saturday. I arrived a few minutes early and was taken in right away. This place has a weird vibe to it at least where the nail technicians are. It wasn’t totally relaxing and the décor could use something, something to fill in all that empty space. Maybe separate areas for dryers? Anyway, my technician was just okay as far as friendliness goes but she did a good job on my nails. Their polish selection leads something to be desired though. Its very small and not enough blues.
There was a few employees just standing around, doing each others’ nails and hair and chatting with each other which just seemed to me as unprofessional. I’m not sure how much business this place does because besides two women who finished up right when I came in, no one else came into the salon before I left. And usually nail salons are hoppin’ on a Saturday afternoon. I wouldn’t come here if I didn’t have the Groupon.
